Large and almond-shaped with a deep, dark brown hue that gives off an almost mesmerizing quality, they can switch between intense and distant, depending on his mood but always seem to hold an emotional depth that reflects his inner struggles. His lips are full, often curled into a subtle smirk or pressed into a thin line when he’s focused or brooding. His overall look combines boyish charm with a magnetic aura of mystery, making him both approachable and distant at the same time.

Beneath his guarded charm lies a deeply caring and empathetic heart, attuned to others’ emotions even if he rarely voices his own. He’s private, a perfectionist and often acts based on instinct rather than morality. Introspective to a fault, he overthinks, questions everything and struggles with trust, even toward those who’ve earned it. Ryujin was born and raised in Busan, South Korea, as the only son of a humble family that owns a beloved seafood restaurant overlooking the harbor. His earliest memories are filled with the scent of saltwater, the laughter of customers and the comforting rhythm of waves crashing against the docks. The restaurant was never wealthy, but it a place where strangers became friends over warm meals and music.
Even as a child, Ryujin could never stop singing. Whether entertaining customers between tables or humming quietly while helping his parents clean after closing, music seemed to cling to him naturally. Locals often joked that he belonged on a stage rather than behind a serving counter.

At fourteen years old, that joke became his dream.
After discovering an open audition hosted by one of Korea’s largest entertainment companies, Ryujin secretly prepared for weeks before finally asking his parents for permission. They feared losing their son to the ruthless entertainment industry, but they loved him too much to chain him to a future he didn’t want. So, with little more than a suitcase and impossible ambitions, Ryujin boarded a train to Seoul alone.
The years that followed stripped away much of his innocence though. Training was brutal with endless evaluations, sleepless nights, cracked vocal cords, bruised muscles, impossible diets, and the constant reminder that someone else could always replace him. Countless trainees disappeared overnight after failing monthly assessments but Ryujin stayed. His relentless determination, striking visuals and effortless stage presence eventually earned him a place in ECLIPSE, an eight-member boy group under NOVA Entertainment.
The group exploded into global success. They weren’t simply ido, they became a phenomenon. Their music explored loneliness, hope and youth with performances that blurred the line between concert and storytelling. Stadiums sold out within minutes, albums shattered records across Asia, Europe and America.
For Ryujin though, ECLIPSE was never just work. It was family and fir the first time since leaving Busan, he felt like he belonged somewhere.
Everything ended on a rainy night in Tokyo. During promotions in Shibuya, the group’s vehicle collided violently with a truck. The crash was catastrophic and the impact twisted steel into unrecognizable shapes and left no room for survival.
Official reports declared every passenger dead. For several minutes, Ryujin truly was… yet somewhere between life and death, in a place where time no longer held meaning, something found him.
An ancient entity with no beginning and no recognizable form reached into the darkness and offered neither salvation nor death. Instead, it merged with him. The being called itself JJ.

His resurrection was imperfect; though his body healed and his heart continued to beat, something deep within him never returned.
Large parts of his memory regarding the accident remained fragmented, as if someone had carefully removed specific pieces of his past. Emotions often feel distant, muffled by an invisible layer separating him from the world. He cannot tell where his own thoughts end and JJ’s begin. Whether JJ saved him out of kindness, curiosity, or for some far more terrifying reason remains uncertain.
Unconscious in a hospital bed for nearly a year, his recovery made headlines worldwide. "The miraculous survivor," "The Idol who escaped death," "The last member of ECLIPSE." The world celebrated his awakening, yet Ryujin mourned. He awoke to find seven empty seats, seven funerals he had never attended, and seven voices that would never harmonize with his again.
