"Have you tried.... getting part time work. Interning somewhere, getting additional experience? Anything? To fill your time?" Miles taps his foot. Phoenix being sarcastic and needy wasn't exactly how he thought he'd be, but it isn't ... entirely dissimilar to how he remembered him.

“I’m an intern, I just kinda hang out in Chief’s office all day. She’s got some big case right now, I have just enough free time to bother you, but not enough to get another job.” Phoenix sighs, clearly overdramatic, but he’s earned it. Again, murderous ex girlfriend. Miles was way different than Phoenix remembered too, maybe they both had changed a lot.

Trucy holds the little brown rabbit in her hands and stares at it in silence for a moment. Its big, glossy eyes seem to look up at her with the same recognition she offers it as her lower lip trembles. She's face-to-face with her 8-year-old self, expectant, hopeful, trusting, loved by her family as it was then. The rabbit, in her daddy's colors, the one she'll never speak to again- could the little rabbit know that would ever be the case? Did the little rabbit fear abandonment- had she been lonely all these years too? Trucy's breathing hitches in her chest, and she pulls the doll in close. She pulls herself in close. Holding back her tears was pointless. After she breaks the hug with the plush, she holds it back out. She probably couldn't convince the stranger to let her keep the rabbit, but she'd have one request. "P-Please, love her a lot, okay?" She forces a wide smile through her tears and warbling voice.
