Hello and welcome to splatoon polls

Similar to blogs like @onepiece-polls, this blog is for anything and everything related to polls with splatoon in them. Currently I will mainly be reblogging polls however. Because I’m the admin for @gentle-giant-swag & @best-dad-battle.

But quick introduction. I’m from Sweden and my favorite mode all around is salmon run, I am a 5 star hydra main and my favorite PVP mode is rainmaker. Also my favorite splatband is the bottom feeders. Also my pronouns are everything. FedEx lost my gender

11 Years of Splatoon!!

Game's been around for half my life now which is highkey insane to think about

Greetings everyone to the "Overwatch sexyman/woman/person" tournament (probably just going to go with sexypeople)

This will be a summer tournament all about which overwatch character is worthy of being crowned the most "tumblr sexymany" of the cast.

We have removed all of the animals (sorry winton), making it as of season 2 the tourney consists of 48 contestants, and it will be 3 brackets which each will last for 3 days (except for the semi and grand final)

one of my hotter fandom/media literacy takes is that some people enjoy problematic media in a way that reminds me of a kid going "my dad lets me watch horror movies" after a playground argument.

I am 100% sure certain problematic artists/bands/media would've had less fans if it wasn't problematic because some people need to it as a "Omg, look at me, I am so different. I am edgy and mature and I do not care that the media has this/the creator did this" For the creators it is more along the side of "I can separate the art from the artist" and it isn't a case like Neil Gaiman where I see most good omens fans actively denounce him. It is more akin to fans of MSI bragging about liking the stuff despite the things Jimmie has been accused of doing.

For the media part, it is more about embracing the problematic themes. I was a danganronpa fan when I was younger and I am mutuals with people who are still fans of it. Though I do not see them brag about enjoying the problematic stuff. I mean people who brag about liking stuff like incest in a "omg, it is just fiction" way, which listen. Are you going to write some dead dove stuff on ao3, I do not care. Do your thing. But bragging about it feels like you're expecting a reaction in the same way a horror loving kid wants to be treated, or an edgy 13 year old who think "dark" humor is really funny.

At some point it doesn't feel like you enjoy the media for it's actual writing but just because it is problematic. You can enjoy toxic stuff, you can enjoy shitty characters (I read classic lit half of my favorite men are shitty), you can enjoy problematic stuff. However it is good to ask if it is more of a status symbol for you than an actual thing you enjoy
