"90% of rapes go unreported"
that seems awfully statistical for unreported data.
✨cultural studies class of 2018✨ and yes this is a fedora and all that it implies
oh, masculinity is so frail
why are you laughing?
You know what makes me so mad?
Teenage girls being told they are “overdramatic” for expressing their emotions or problems.
SO WHAT IF THEY ARE BEING “OVERDRAMATIC????”
Feelings are always legitimate, no matter if you think someone else has “too many.” Everyone has the right to express his or her emotions. No one should be criticized for being public about them.
>teenage girls sighhhhhhh this is not a fucking feminist problem is a man expressed a fraction of emotion women express daily he would be sent to a fucking mental institution
I LOVE the s.c.u.m. manifesto, it’s truly a work of art
•If you can get condoms free, ALL birth control NEEDS to be FREE for EVERYONE.
•Birth control is used for multiple purposes such as: Painful cramps, severe bleeding from ones uterus, acne, preventing pregnancy, headaches, migraines, general aches, fatigue, hot flashes, cold flashes, fever,…
do you understand that the things can never be free? if one doesn’t pay for the tampons, where do the money needed to produce tampons come from?
"Our task must be to free ourselves… by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and it’s beauty." -Albert Einstein
uhh that’s surely an interesting quote, but how do you think it’s relevant when we discuss practical issues and economy?
but how do you think it’s relevant when we discuss practical issues and economy?
Thanks. Why don’t you ask yourself the same question.
ok, but in terms of birth control and tampons "embracing the nature" would be never using birth control and freebleeding. and producing tampons requires the workers, the materials, etc. and all of those things require money. let's get realistic for a bit. no harm meant. you are a very interesting person and I would like to discuss this with you very much.

Imagine if slaves in the mid 1800s said things like,
"I don’t believe in abolition; I believe blacks and whites should be equal."
"I’m not an abolitionist because I don’t support black supremacy."
"I’m not an abolitionist. I love white people!!!"
That’s how you sound when you say you don’t support feminism.
so you think you're a men's slave?

David Cameron has responded (affirmatively) to the campaign to have mothers on marriage certificates.
For historical recording reasons, only fathers of the couple (and the fathers’ occupations) were included in marriage certificates.
A campaign spearheaded by Caroline Lucas of the Green Party has led to the PM acknowledging this anachronism and Cameron has pledged that mothers will be added to the certificate.
Well done Caroline Lucas!
that's cool I like this approach
This really annoyed me because I wanted to go to this school and this letter on the dress code was included in the welcome pack.
They ask female students to be 'mindful'and 'modest', going so far as to say how much jewellery a student should wear. All because there are more boys than girls.
Women should not be told how to dress in order to avoid being hit on (as is implied) but the boys in the school should be told how to respect women regardless of what they’re wearing. It could be understood from this notification, that if a girl wears more make up than they’d like, or has larger jewellery or is showing flesh- then the boys of this school aren’t responsible for any sexual harassment to the female students.
This is also to enforce a work-like environment, so the sexism where women are held to different standards and the rape culture that blames women for unwanted advances and rape - are okay to be enforced because that’s how it is in the world of work where men outnumber women(!)
The UK has such a brilliant education system.
well the "staff and students are predominantly male" IS a shitty argument, however pay attention to that male students are expected to wear a suit and a tie every single day while girls have more variety in clothing
Is this guy for real?
did you really use the m&m’s analogy? are YOU for real?
I sure did ^.^ It is a very simple analogy that anyone can understand and it gets the point across very well. If you can think of something just as accurate and easy to understand, please let me know.
well it's still a very, very bad idea. "not all Muslims are terrorists? imagine a bowl full of m&m's. 10% of them are poisoned. will you risk eating them?" "not all blacks are murderers? imagine a bown full of m&m's…" etc

So my dad always go on and on about how he’s not a feminist.
So out of the blue today i said, dad do you believe women are equal to men?
He said yes.
Do you believe women should be entitled to the same education as men?
Yes again
Do you believe women should be paid the same as men for the...
ughhhh feminism is not just a set of views, it's a freaking movement. I am not a feminist while sharing some of feminists' political views since I don't like the movement duh
