I’m also going to take this as a chance to say-- I (obviously) haven’t had much time to write things for this blog in awhile :( I had burned my hand pretty badly around the time I stopped writing here + found out about my carpal tunnel, and after that got completely buried by school work and other things.

I hesitate to say that I’ll make a return to this blog, but I might end up posting a few drafts that I have sitting around. Writing for this blog was actually some of the best writing practice I think I’ve ever gotten, since I was doing so much of it!

So yeah. I may or may not see y’all around, those of you who are still following me! Thank you for all of the support!

Heyo, just a quick update

I found out recently that I have carpal tunnel, and have thus been trying to keep my keyboard use to a minimum the past few days ;-; I should be getting some braces for my hands tomorrow though! So I will be back then

If we’re lovin hunk, can I request a scenario with him and an s/o who has had depression and self-image issues for the longest time but is showing noticeable signs of improvement? Like they usually barely eat or smile or look in the mirror and they constantly insult themself and the way they look, but they slowly start eating more often and gaining weight and smiling again and dressing up and stuff. I have these problems and I would like some cute positivity to make myself feel better :>

I’ve had similar issues, but nothing specifically like this, so I hope that I did this justice ;-;

Hunk had always been aware of your struggles.

While he did his best to help, he also knew that he couldn’t just wave a wand and fix everything. Depression was, for lack of a better word, a bitch. All he could do was counter your self deprecation with compliments— let you know that what you thought about yourself wasn’t what other people saw. Wasn’t what he saw. It was hard to watch, and some days he wasn’t sure things would ever get better for you.

Time went on though, and he just kept doing what he could to remind you how amazing he thought you were. If it helped or not, he wasn’t sure, but it became clear to him that things were changing. Slowly but surely, he noticed small things. On more than one occasion, you had asked him to cook dinner with you (or, sometimes for you, and he loved the bashful look you gave him when you did ask). It was something he would have never dreamed of happening a few months ago, and he was more than happy to oblige.

“Did you do you hair?” It was a few weeks after your first time asking to cook with him, and he noticed that you hair was distinctly styled, as opposed to how you usually let it lay however it did when you woke up.

“Oh,” You fluffed your hair a bit, giving Hunk a shy smile, “yeah, I tried to make it look nice today… Do you like it?”

He felt like he might cry, but he didn’t want to weird you out, so instead he just grinned and gave you a thumbs up. “It looks great!”

The changes were small and subtle, but he was so, so excited to see you happier these days. He knew that your struggles weren’t truly over, but seeing you doing better meant more to him than he could ever really explain.

He makes it a point to introduce himself to everyone involved w/ the team, including the cheerleaders

Pretty straight forward about his intentions the entire time— it took him only a handful of  interactions to ask you out

That being said, he’s very sweet about everything and doesn’t at all want you to feel like he has bad intentions

You two are the definition of power couple

Keith

Vice captain + Tight End

aka sort of a jack of all trades

He didn’t really wanna be VC at first but Shiro insisted and he didn’t really have it in him to turn him down

He was aware of who you were before you ended up being a cheerleader, but hadn’t ever gone out of his way to talk to you

Runs into you after a game once and finds himself p intrigued by you

After that, he ends up trying to find reasons to talk to you, and eventually asks you out

After the rest of the team gives him a pep talk lol

Pidge

Running back

Fastest one on the team By Far

Also the smallest one tho so she wears extra padding

Takes contact well regardless and tbh it’s probably not necessary but Shiro insists

She totally tripped over her words the first time you two met at a game bc she just thought you were. Really cute

Would ask you out pretty quickly but would be Embarassed the whole time

Kinda surprised you say yes bc she figured you could date anyone you wanted

She would help you practice routines when you need help!

Hunk

He initially hadn’t wanted to do football all that much but he decided to join the team after Shiro specifically asked him to

Plus he already knew a lot of people on the team

At first he didn’t really talk to you much

Not because he didn’t like you, he was actually just too nervous to say much of anything

As time went on though, he got more comfortable with you and you guys became quite close

Asks you out in the aftermath of a big win

It’s v cute and he’s v excited when you agree

Lance

Wide receiver

He was originally the running back but then everyone realized how good his hand eye coordination was

Gets Very competitive

He’s never a bad sport or anything, he just… tends to get really into games lol

Flirts with you upon first meeting, not thinking much of it

Then he realizes that he might actually have feelings for you and backs of a little bit

Also p much stops flirting with other people bc he’s worried you might think he’s not serious about you if he doesn’t

Asks you out after practice one night

Probably cries when you say yes

Your new stuff sucks why aren't you writing for the paladins anymore

Hey friend if you’re trying to get me to write more for the paladins this uhhhhhhhhhhhhh is not a good way to get me to want to do that

but for more of a real answer, more so for other people who might be wondering the same thing than for you, James is a lot easier for me to write than most of the paladins so I can get it done when I’m tired/not super feeling it. The paladins on the other hand I kinda have to be in the zone to get done

This isn’t the first time I’ve gotten a message like this tbh and I would... appreciate it if these sorts of things stopped >_> I’m just one person running this blog and I do try really hard to get stuff out for you guys l-lol

He’s still on an adrenaline high and also sort of on edge from earlier in the day, so when you give him a quick kiss before you got out of the MFE he got more into it than he meant to

Realizes where this is heading and he’s just kinda like “huh this might not be a bad idea”

He decides pretty quickly that he doesn’t particularly care

He doesn’t go on until he’s made sure that you’re okay with it

Just bc you suggested it awhile ago doesn’t mean you were still down for it after all

Weirdly blunt about it considering he’s usually pretty lowkey about this sort of stuff?

It’s kinda hot tbh but if you told him that he wouldn’t really understand why

It’s a pretty tight space and you guys have to get uh creative position wise

The whole thing is pretty quick

That’s usually not his thing but he’s still pretty aware that someone could end up finding the two of you and he would much rather avoid that

It starts when you’re first introduced to them all, and James is already agitated with them

He’s just kinda like

??? Uh ???? Excuse me?

It’s not like they had any way to know that you were taken but he’s still offended all the same

He tries to be discrete for your sake, but he still finds himself trying to show that you are most definitely not single

If you’re talking to one of the paladins? He’s also talking to them

You’re training with them? Huh, funny, his schedule just got switched around and he’ll be joining you now

He’s not particularly… awful to them

But he does tend to be quite blunt and is just generally unimpressed by the paladins

Not including Shiro

He’s pretty respectful towards him no matter what

Tends to throw his arm around your shoulder when he gets the chance

This is actually pretty normal, but he usually does it without thinking about it

Now he’s doing it purposely

Would be more affectionate with you

Not like, right in front of the paladins

Just when he thinks they might happen to see

Also, while he justifies this to himself as just something he’s doing to get the paladins to back off, he does really like the feeling of being close to you

If Keith is involved, he gets sort of weird about the whole thing

Or, at least, weirder

He doesn’t really want to start something with him given their past

But also he’s about two seconds from punching him in the gut SO

If you call him out on his behavior, he’ll drop it

In the end, he trusts you and knows that nothing will happen

Teasing him about it can be p fun because he gets self conscious about it lol

Sometimes tho he’ll tease you right back about it

Can you pls do a James Griffin x reader where reader is happy and cheerful when sees around people but when reader is behind closed doors tghey are really sad and depressed

A/N: This is actually me? I’m always the one people go to to cheer them up, and I’ve been told I’m really funny, but on the inside I’m dying every day. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!

@voltronlegendaryimagines it turns out I had like the perfect request and I was digging it so here ya go! Hope you feel better! 

With a half smile, James watched you laugh and smile with Ina Leifsdottir. Oh, how he loved to see you smile… And there went the finger guns, meaning you just made a pun. Underneath your smiles and jokes, though, was something far darker than most people know. He just wished you would tell him about it. 

“How are they,” Veronica murmured as she passed him. She slower her pace so that she stood beside him, adjusting the box she held in her hands so that it wouldn’t fall. 

James blinked and shifted his eyes to her. “What? Nothing’s wrong.” 

“I didn’t ask if there was.” With an internal sigh, Veronica set the box down and turned to look at him. “I know there’s something up.” Straight to the point. James liked it when people did that, instead of beating around the bush. “I know it’s all an act. Most bubbly people like that,” she gestured to you with her head, “aren’t usually happy on the inside. I watched my brother go through enough of that growing up to know the signals.” She didn’t say anything else. When it came to people prying into his personal life, James could become a little… volatile, to say the least. He wanted to keep his personal life separate from his professional life. Usually, it was best to let him approach others about a problem, but Veronica could see how frustrated he was becoming. 

After a few moments of silence, with Veronica assuming he wouldn’t say anything to her, she picked up her box. She hadn’t even taken two steps before James spoke: “I… want them to be able to talk to me, but… I don’t know what to say.” 

“Don’t say anything,” Veronica said, “just let Y/N know that you’re available and willing to listen.” 

With a shaky breath, James nodded. Yeah, he decided, he could do that. 

He had a lot of chances to talk to you that day, but he decided to wait until your favorite time of day; when then hangar was open and the sunset was visible. It was then that you were more talkative, more willing to share more personal thoughts. Maybe it was because you were tired, or maybe it was just that the right person sitting next to you, but either way, James was grateful. 

So that night, the sun was setting, and the two of you were sitting on a random set of stairs. Your eyes were glued to the sky. James took this opportunity to just look at you. The orange sky bathed your body in a warm orange glow, and you were so relaxed, with a soft smile on your face. 

“Hey, Y/N,” he began, trying to hide how nervous he was, “I just wanted to say that um,” he cleared his throat, “that I’m always here. To talk to. I know we just started dating, but if there’s something on your mind, or if you aren’t feeling great, you cal let me know. You don’t have to put up a front. I care about you, and I want you to be happy.” James winced internally, aware of how awkward that sounded, but he was glad he just got it out. 

You sat up straight and clenched your jaw. James hoped he hadn’t offended you. You didn’t say anything for a long time. The sun had almost set when you turned to kiss his cheek. “Thank you,” you whispered, and stood up. After helping James to his feet, you walked, hand in hand, to the dorms, and then wen your separate ways to your rooms. 

You usually walked together every night, but that night was different; you didn’t make so many jokes, and that gave James hope that you would talk to him in the future.
