GO CRAZY AAAAAAHH GO STUPID AAAAAAAHH GO CRAZY
on my block season 2 premieres march 29, 2019
alright so this is how itâs gonna go down. iâm posting this because we all know how badly netflix plays its shows with a predominantly main cast of color dust and i really donât want this show to have the same fate as recently cancelled series of theirs. while it has gained lots of fans and attention in the past year, you never know with this company.
as said in the title, the second season of the netflix original series On My Block premieres on march 29 (exactly one week from now)! it looks like itâs going to be great (probably better than the first season) and deserves all the attention!
so when it premieres, please stream it, binge it, even REbinge it and spread the word to others who may not know about it! itâd be pretty cool if it were to get a third season and even be the most watched show of the year two years in a row!
y'all have TWO days to prepare
shows with mainly black casts
Black-ish - Dre Johnson and his wife Rainbow have a seemingly perfect life with four unique children, a big and beautiful house in a nice neighborhood, and jobs they actually dont hate- but Dre wonders if the privilege his success has afforded his children has distanced them from their roots and culture.
Black Lightning - Jefferson Pierce had retired his Black Lightning superhero persona almost a decade earlier when a local gang suddenly forces him into being a vigilante again. His two daughters have inherited his superpowers. His oldest kid, Anissa is a lesbian and is dating a teammate, Grace Choi.
Chewing Gum - Tracy Gordon is a extremely religious, Beyonce obsessed 24 year old virgin who has decided to tackle the next step in her life and have sex with her fiance.
Dear White People - Based off the film of the same name, this Netflix Original television series follows a group of black students attending school at a predominantly white Ivy League college. It focuses on political and social issues through a cynical, brutally honest lens and tackles topics of race, bigotry, and bias that most shows shy away from.
Insecure - Comedy series following best friends Issa and Molly are the polar opposite of the modern-day depiction of strong, confident black women. Their insecurities and actual flaws cause a variety of trouble and uncomfortable situations for them.
Luke Cage - drama following the evolution of Luke Cage, a man who developed superstrength and unbreakable skin after an experiment was sabotaged. After a failed relationship with fellow superhero Jessica Jones, he tries to rebuild a new and quieter life in Harlem NY but ends up being pulled out of the shadows and back into vigilantism.
On My Block - coming of age comedy-drama following four bright, intelligent teenagers living in a predominantly latino and black neighborhood in South Central LA. Ruby, Jamal, Monse, and Cesar have been friends for as long as they can remember, but their bonds are tested as they deal with the new struggles growing up provides.
Queen Sugar - âqueen sugarâ depicts the life of the estranged Bordelon siblings. Nova is a formidable journalist/activist from New Orleans. Charley is a wife and mother who leaves her upscale home in LA and moves to Louisana to claim an inheritance from her recently passed father. Their brother Ralph is a single father struggling with unemployment.
Sheâs Gotta Have It - based off the film of the same name, âSheâs gotta have itâ follows Brooklyn-based artists Nola Darling as she tries to follow her dreams while dividing her time between her friends, family, and three lovers. The trio includes married buisnessman and father Jamie, photographer Greer, and Michael Jordan fan Mars.
The Chi - coming of age series following three people from The South Side of Chicago: Kevin, a preteen who embraces and adores normal rites of childhood, Brandon, whoâs making a leap of faith to find happiness, and Ronnie, a drifter struggling to be loved.
