Okay, admittedly, anime Izaya isnât terrible and maybe heâs 60% morally ambiguous. But I wonât change my mind on only 30% of his character being explored. Character changes aside(where he smirks more and goes out of his way to piss Shizuo off more), any bit of depth he has is omitted. It isnât a simple matter of things only being skimmed over, itâs literally a matter of his depth being completely non-existent.Â
The telephone pole scene, Izayaâs most human moment. Him being afraid of loosing his friend.
Izaya telling his sister to get out of the road before she gets hit by a truck, which is kind of interesting to see.
Izaya considering Shinraâs well-being while in the hospital, reflecting on Shinra, âEven that guy canât predict the future.â Which hints that he may have called Shinra because he was worried.

Izayaâs sisters showing concern for Izaya, and basically telling him that they do care.
