I’ve been thinking about how dungeon meshi plays with its themes about devouring and how it sometimes uses.. like.. sensual/sexually charged visuals to enhance that theme. Like, to devour someone or something wholly, not only to eat it with the mouth but the whole body almost, until the two things are both changed by one’s consumption of the other. Laios’ final confrontation with the demon comes to mind most immediately but I know there was subtler stuff before that with less overt violence to it. So all of this is to say— can I have your collection of pages you think fit this bill? I wanted to do a full re-read through to find all the scenes that are “unnecessarily erotic for a cooking manga” and compare them but I thought maybe it would be faster to ask the stash (^^)” sorry again if this is a strange one and no problem if you’d rather not answer.

I do know what you mean though! "eating", or rather, "consuming"? does have a erotic aspect in Dungeon Meshi especially when it comes to the demon, at least those are the parts that come to mind right away, like you mentioned there's Laios confrontation with the demon, the scene where the demon invites Laios to consume him is very seductive
He also does something similar in a thistle flashback
There's also the moment where they eat the barometz fruit in Laios' dream, I think it's kinda hot but I might just be a freak tho
In the same way I think this scene from ch 87 is a little sensual, the one where the human eats the demon in fruit form.
