ughhh i cant believe im making this a public post but.
about sausage party, the fandom, and the people kin w sp characters
even, if, these people /were/ trolls (which i personally do not think so, dont you think that they are /very/ considerate considering the circumstances? i would use screencaps but 1. i dont want to screencap their blogs, and 2. im on mobile anyways, but basically
someone made an autism joke because “wow this movie is stupid=youre stupid=youre autistic bc your stupid” kind of a joke, and they defended it by saying that is way out of line to joke about. this could mean several things
1, that they are autistic themselves or a friend is, 2, theyre very considerate of people who have autism, 3, in general, are considerate and know not to make fun of a mental illness
also to note, someone had allegedly (i say it this way bc i saw the screencaps on franks blog, not the post itself though again i believe is very real) about someones suicide note. they were obviously upset and basically wrote that people, by mocking them, arent supportive of their kin just because the canonical movie is bad (which ill get more into in just a moment), and outright want to continue making jokes even if the fandom is hurt by it
now. why am i speaking out about this? because. these people (a majority, i havent seen every single blog), are minors, (listed as such), and im an adult (19), who is /desperately/ here for keeping minors safe and letting them have a safe space. i, also, know what its like to have a kin from something kinda odd, and ive had so many people make jokes At and not with me about it, and that kin is spongebob. not getting into it, but im obviously not joking
onto the next thing. the media at hand being bad and problematic:
when i was a minor (ages 10-17, respectively learning as i grew with age) i watched vulgar and offensive things and i 1. didnt understand it was bad 2. didnt acknowledge it, (things like family guy, futurama, south park, tosh.0 and other stuff along those lines), and at that time i didnt even understand those things were really bad. these people have analyzed and understood fully that this media and some of its characters are problematic in nature. the way they word this as “its supposed to be offensive, chill”, basically, but think of that from a minors perspective. what they /mean/ is, “look, im sorry its offensive, it was written with that intention. i like the media and awknowledge that its offensive and dont support the problematic parts of the movie.” i would know; like i said, i used to be a minor enjoying problematic things.
and before you begin, PLENTY of people here in the community of kin and fictionkin specifically have problematic canons. south park is probably the most popular (and dont get me started on THAT shows nature), and specific problematic characters (tsukiyama shuu, izaya orihara, ive seen too many purple guy kins too.)
basically the tl;dr (which you /really/ should read this if you have the time) is dont go harassing these minors for having problematic canons just because they kin from that canon, because even IF they are trolls they are The Most considerate i have ever seen & honestly arent hurting anybody.
