The end of my blog(s)
So Iām sure that by now you have all seen this and this post, as well as the big screaming sign at the top of your dashboard:
First of all I want to point out that when looking at the above links, youāll notice that tumblrās own statements on the matter are unclear and wildly contradictory while still generally condemning all adult content that does adhere to their very small subset of adult content that they will allow, so any arguments of āitās only for real life nudity!ā and āitāll be fine as long as you donāt post outright sexual intercourseā donāt really hold any water as far as Iām concerned.
That brings me to the second point. Youāre probably wondering now why Iām posting this on my SFW blog. The thing is that a good amount of my posts on this blog have already been flagged. Now I know that I sometimes post risque works on this blog, but when perfectly safe for work images get flagged and risque images are left alone by whatever algorithm tumblr employs for flagging, it makes it pretty damn clear that this algorithm is busted, further reinforcing what I said in the previous paragraph. I really donāt trust tumblr staff and whatever tech and algos they use to leave my SFW blog unscathed.
Furthermore Iām incredibly concerned by how tumblr has been going about removing accounts based on blog content. During the big mass account deletion two weeks ago, several of my friends got all of their accounts nuked (including SFW/personal accounts) without warning and any queries at the address of tumblr support are met with cold dead silence. If this is how Iām going to be treated if I get nuked like that, then Iād rather leave on my own terms.
So where does that leave us? Personally, Iām done with tumblr. We had a good run together, it was my first big start after I got off of my three year hiatus, I met a ton of cool people through here, but by this point Iām fed up with how increasingly incompetently this website is being run. Now that weāve gotten to the point where tumblrās ToS and automated management has become increasingly hostile to me and other artists like me, Iām out.
This is not the end for me, though! Iāll continue to draw as Iāll always have, both SFW as NSFW. Youāll just have to look for it in different places, since I canāt be bothered to maintain my blog under tumblrs inconsistent and arbitrary new policies. You can instead find me (both SFW and NSFW) on:
