After like... 10 years in the tumblr rp space, 20+ years rping in general, I think it's safe to say this isn't really something I can reasonably do much upkeep on anymore. Roleplaying on discord would be something I'm interested in (particularly with my Venture Bros oc), but as for actually running like, a blog? I think that chapter of my life might be closed.
It's been fun, sometimes unreasonably stressful, sometimes lead to my rejection sensitivity rearing it's ugly head and putting me in a bad place mentally. I've made friends. Lost friends. This space is weird. More often than not you're left in this odd limbo of feeling good about your writing and bad about everything... surrounding it; the community, the social nuances, the do's and don'ts, the passing trends, and above all, the way people here disregard the feelings of real, live people to prioritize the fake ones. Without a wall up, you become a bit lost in the sauce. This place can hurt feelings to an irrational degree, and it isn't until you gain some distance that you go, "Why the fuck did that even upset me so much?" it's just different when you're in it, when you spend so much time here you start conflating it with your own worth as a writer, as a person, as a friend.
I think at a certain point I forgot why I was doing this, why I loved to write, I was just kind of joylessly filling a quota. I always kind of wanted something deeper with my writing I just wasn't getting here, it was like a shotgun blast of dozens of short form threads going nowhere, when I all I wanted were a handful that went into more depth. I think switching to discord will allow myself to move at my own pace and go more in that direction.
No matter how weird people can be though, don't stop finding real people to write with. Don't let cringe ass rp become a lost art relegated to those dumb AI apps. Peace.
Literally considering returning to tumblr at this point, not even for RP really but because every other social media is just AI garbage and algorithmically generated slop outrage. The internet used to be fun.

Hello party people it has been a VERY long time.
I'm mostly all recovered from majorly fucking up my teeth and jaw as mentioned in my last post. I'd like to rp here a bit, I can't promise how active I'll be but the Hal in my head never really dies, she just goes into hiding until I rewatch IZ apparently.
Off topic but I stg whenever I leave and come back I forget how literally everything works here so be patient with my boomer ass.

Well I was gonna make my big comeback here this week but life decided, hey why not break her teeth.
Because I tripped and fell on a concrete step and knocked out my two front teeth, also severely damaged my lips in the process and needed extensive dental surgery for the past two days.
Now my mouth hurts all the time.
(I have temporary teeth in until they make my new crowns)
