What is Vrindavan? Who is Krishna? What is this place and why i am here?
Brahman - The absolute truth is said to be impossible to obtain by mere logic or knowledge (jnana). By logic one can understand things that work under certain laws, and therefore by laws by which things function one can know either effect knowing the cause or cause knowing the effect. But how to understand by logic the Supreme Personality, the Absolute Truth, when there are no laws that bind Him and when cause and effect depend on His sweet will alone. So, to understand the personality of a person one needs to get close to that person and then that person has to open up and reveal. Otherwise we cant get to know someone if these 2 points arent satisfied. Our effort to get aquainted with the person and his desire to open up to us, to revel himself. But even if we show effort, result still only depends on the will of the person to open up to us or not. If you want to meet the Supreme Personality, you have to show that desire and effort and then by His mercy alone He opens up to you. Once you experience this, your spiritual life begins and you start developing a relationship with this Person. One cant understand a person by logic, it takes relationship, it takes bhakti (love).
Whats different then about Krishna and this place? Krishna is Love Personified and He athough being One is also many, and He manifests his varies in such wonderful splendour, witouth ever losing integrity and after doing so, He still remains One. This same One existing on so many levels reaches to us and from time to time reveals some of His aspects. But there is one particular aspect of the Brahman - The apsolute truth that captured me, that i want to share.
Krishna of Vrindavan. Krishna in Vrindavan is like no other Krishna : ). Here he is at home, he strips his titles, throws aside his splendour (aiswarya) and relates to you as an equal, and whats more, as a subordinate at times.
Now, if you want to get to know the president of your country, if you want to know him as a person, the person behind the title, you will need to visit him at his home. In a presidential palace he is just mr. president, but at home you will address him by his name, or even nick name. You will get to know him as a father, son, friend or lover. If that same president chooses not to akwnoledge you as a close friend and you don't develop a loving relationship with him, he will just remain mr. president.
God is a title. It makes you worship Him in awe and reverence. But my Krishna in Vrindavan is at home and somehow i got an invitation : ). He strips his title for those who are of loving disposition, free of envy and material contamination, and allows them to capture Him with their pure heart. Krishna is the all pervading cause of all causes, and yet He freely gives Himself to His devotees who own him and bind Him with thier love. So my friends if you really want to meet Krishna, I urge you, to come to Vrindavan and meet this coweherd boy with his flute to his lips and peackock feather on his head, who stands in a three fold bending position and enchants those of pure heart with his sweet music, knowing that Vrindavan is not only a geographical position but a state of ones consciousness and heart.
Your fallen servant, Vrindavan Das Thakur das
