Also note that if you put a bunch of horny dudes on a naval vessel for years on end, even if they’re all straight, some of them are probably gonna end up fucking (which is why back when sodomy was illegal on land it was allowed on a ship). Similarly, some fraction of asexual people do have sex for recreation, but never with anybody they’re actually attracted to because they aren’t actually attracted to anybody. Some because of religious or moral objections, some because or psychological aversion or trauma, some out of an abundance of caution about the risk of disease or unwanted pregnancy, and others simply never get around to forming that kind of relationship.

There’s a pervasive misconception that asexuality and abstinence are the same thing, that a person can choose to be asexual or not. That assumption hurts a lot of people, from asexuals pressured or even forced into sexual encounters they don’t want in order to “fix” them, to perfectly normal and healthy allosexuals being shamed and repressed as “sluts” just for feeling natural and uncontrollable emotions.

Also works for most of those news sites like WSJ or NYT that only let you read a little bit, or block adblockers. Also some disable the scroll bar but if you go to the right side of the console after hitting F12 and look for the CSS element “overflow” and change it from “hidden” to “visible” then you can continue scrolling for free. Might have to click around on different parts of the page to find it, but it should work.
