The Frag/men/ted City- Mapping mobility patterns of Mexico City’s highest and lowest socio-economic profiles
ABSTRACT Utilizing health care as an indicator of income, this project highlights the mobility patterns of Mexico City’s highest and lowest income boroughs, Cuautitlán Izcalli to the north and Valle de Chalco Solidaridad to the south. Analyzing the mobility patterns of cell phone towers in these delegaciones, this study reveals a distinctly divided city. The central business district acts as a connectivity node where these disparate socio-economic profiles meet. These connective nodes are potential points of intervention to facilitate community connection and enhance the city’s social capital networks and provide for a vibrant urban experience.
