“…I’m too…tired for this.” Luciel sighed, his hand shifting into a slightly less uncomfortable position.  “The past…won’t change.”

“I told you to rest,” he said, folding his hands in his lap.  “And there’s plenty of evidence things change if we try.  We’ve gone through so many versions of these events...”

“No.  I’m…I’m done.” 

“...you’re not thinking straight.  I know you’ll agree once you’re healthy.” V frowned and took his hand away.  “Just rest, Luciel.  I have some recovering to do as well.”

“…it’s the…best we’ve gotten.”  It was hard to think much less talk but he was going to do his best to convey his thoughts.

“Luciel, Rika is still suffering.  The entire point of all this is to save her.  I know that if we just try again...”

“No.”  Despite the hazy nature of his voice, there was a rather determined note.

He lifted his head.  “What do you mean, ‘no’?  this is hardly an idea outcome, Luciel.”

“…not…your fault.”  Luciel closed his eyes, his eyelids far too heavy.  “Didn’t…expect them…waiting for me.”

V sighed at that, leaning back in his wheelchair.  “...once you’re healthy again, we can turn things back and try again.”

Fortunately V was on the left side, the man taking up his least injured hand.  It still hurt. He hissed in his breath.   That was useful in waking up.  “Ah…c-careful.”

“Ah right!  Sorry.” He still held Luciel’s hand, but gentler.  “...I’m sorry all this happened, Luciel.  But it’s over now.”

Wait.  Had he told the other RFA members?  He couldn’t remember.  He’d been through so many timelines.  He might have since he’d stuck around more this time.

(text) The doctors say I should be able to attend the party but that I will be recovering in the meantime.  You’re free to come visit either of us.

It took several minutes for the redhead to respond.  Slowly his eyes cracked open but he wasn’t capable of moving much.   “Ji…hyun…” 

He nodded, reaching out and around until he found one of Luciel’s hands, squeezing it.  “I’m right here.  I came to see you.”

Well that was a better reaction than she expected. Sort of different compared to how often he brushed away everyone’s concerns for him in the past.

[txt] Not strange at all. Well okay maybe a little strange just because it’s coming from you. [txt] I think that’s a very nice thing of you to say. As weird as everyone is, I guess they really have become like family.

[txt] I’m curious to get to know you myself, Mr. Han has always spoken so highly of you.

(text) ...I’m actually surprised by that

(text) Though right now I’m not an incredibly interesting person

It had taken some effort to get V in to see Luciel.  In the end, between his complete blindness and him still being unsteady on his feet, they’d decided to get him a wheelchair and wheel him over.

“...Luciel?” he said once he was beside the bed.

Felt a little odd considering she helped in wrangling in his girlfriend… exgirlfriend? But this whole situation was odd. The things that woman did to them… it was still hard to believe. After all the praise the RFA gave Rika.

Now she wasn’t sure what to say to make him feel better. 

[txt] I’m sorry things turned out this way V. [txt] We aren’t that close or anything, but I’m always happy to lend an ear if you ever need to talk ^^ [txt] Just know we’re here for you.

(text) After the party I intend on spending more time with the RFA members in general

(text) As the next newest member after Minji I would like to spend a bit more time getting to know you and your strengths as a person

MC’s face heated up. A smile grew on her lips as she squeezed his hand back. “Oh, wow…I-I’d really like that. I’d be flattered. Um, I’ll try ever harder to land a position, then! It wouldn’t be that much fun to take pictures of me just practicing in the studio…”

She smiled more. “I know I’m not a photographer, but I’d like to take your picture too, Jihyun. Maybe you could, um, help teach me?”

He dropped his eyes to his lap.  “I’m sure you’ll find something soon.” Of course he was biased.  He’d never even seen her dance yet he was sure she could do anything she set her mind to.

At the question, though, he felt his own cheeks going red.  “Ah, I’m... I could do that, but I’m not really the best subject.  These days I only look marginally better than this, as you’ve seen...”

MC’s smile fell as the conversation was once again soured by Rika. He sounded sad. Or maybe regretful was the better word. She paused, before she spoke up. “Um…if it makes you feel better, I-I didn’t go to college, either.”

Her gaze fell to their still-joined hands. “Dancers, um…you’re supposed to start your professional work in your last year of high school or directly after. You join up with a small, local dance company to gain experience, and then you’re picked up by bigger companies. Or…t-that’s how it’s supposed to work, at least.”

V, of course, remembered that just a few days ago, she’d failed to receive a call back about an audition she’d done before.  He found himself squeezing her hand.

“...I’d like to take pictures of you dancing if I do get my sight back.”

MC giggled. “It’s, um, it’s a risk that I’m will to accept responsibility for…”

Her expression softened at his confession. “I know they missed spending time with you, too, Jihyun. You’re really good company. It sounded like you had a lot of fun together before, too.”

“...that was only a year before I met Rika,” he mumbled.  Apparently he was done laughing for now.  “Jumin went on to business school and being groomed to take over his father’s company.  I was already getting my photographs in galleries so I didn’t go on to higher education.  Maybe I should have.”
