VanillaThunder's TG Caption Making Tutorial
As requested by @soupsupersoup, I've decided to do a tutorial covering how I make my captions. All you need is access to any image editor, I use Paint.NET primarily, but you can use Canva, any free program that lets you add text to photos pretty much.
First things first, you need an image and a story. You can find those anywhere, Tumblr, Google, I use a lot of the aggregate sites that have adult images sourced from porn because they usually match the stories I like to tell. You can even use screenshots from TV or movies (although copyright is always an issue for any photos you don't take yourself).
So go ahead and drop that photo into your image editor!
Next you're gonna want to extend the canvas so you can add text. Some people add text directly on top, I prefer to have a dedicated text box, and I have a method that, based on the photo, decides which direction I go, for landscape photos the text goes either above or below, and for portrait, left or right.
Now you'll need to add a color to the canvas, a lot of people do stark white, but I like to choose complementary colors to the image, so I usually click the dropper tool and pick a color from the photo, in this case, I ended up picking the lighter wallpaper color.
Fill the rest of the canvas with that and then we need a border, again optional, but I think it looks clean and neat.
Go ahead and click the shapes on the bottom of the toolbox, change the border size to 7, and change the shape to rectangle, as seen in the circles. Then drag the box from the top left of the open canvas space to the bottom right.
Now it's time for text, you can write as you go on the canvas, but I usually write up the text in a word processor and copy paste it, my font is Humanst521 BT, but again, dealer's choice, you find your own artistic voice, that's just the font I like. I usually start the size at 30 and adjust based on the size of the canvas.
And add the text! And you can change the color, I usually go with pink as the color for the transformed/crossdressed boy regardless of anything else and use other colors depending on how many speakers there are in that particular caption. This one is a single speaker with no prose, but if there was, the prose would be plain black. You also might want to do this on another layer, so that mistakes can be erased easily without damaging the canvas.
And then you'll need to flatten it back to save it as an image file. I usually go with PNG cause it's higher quality but larger file size. And that's pretty much it, hit save and then post it on the site of your choice!
Hope you enjoyed this tutorial! Been meaning to do one of these for years, so I'm glad I finally found the motivation to do it!

Decided to do a one-sided conversation in this one, maybe a bit too expository, but I wanted to try something different. Enjoy!
One of my favorite caption artists has returned to the game after a very long absence, I won't say her name, but if you've been seeing my reblogs lately, it's pretty obvious who it is, and that's reminded me of one of her captions from back in the day that I adored and this picture made me want to try my hand at a similar premise.
Text under the cut for the visually impaired:
Was Trying to do a little bait and switch, let me know how well it worked.
"What are we going to do about Tim…"
"I don't know… Do you think we should…"
"I think we have too"
"This can't continue…"
"We have no other choice…"
"We've got to De-Feminize him."
"We glued those breast forms on did his long lasting makeup got him all dressed up."
"And now only a few days later he's critiquing MY eyeliner?"
"He told ME that MY outfit clashed."
"I saw him flirting with MY boyfriend!"
"This has to Stop… Ohh Tif! There you are! Get Him Girls!"
