“Oh…kay.” He feels himself blush at Spock’s name for him, despite the serious situation. He knows Spock’s knowledge of telepathy is just as good as his scientific knowledge, and Jim trusts that. “Okay.”
He keeps his fingers over Spock’s in their way of affection and closes his eyes. Hopefully Spock closes his too, and doesn’t see the tears falling down Jim’s cheeks. He’s still smiling, though, acting strong even though Spock can feel how scared he is inside.
Spock can sense his fear, and it matches his own. Regardless of where there next destiny lies, they will forget. He lets his thumbs trail down over the tears on Jim's cheeks and brush them away. He takes a deep breath and leans in, firmly placing his mouth over Jim’s in a kiss.
He then lets his hands move up to touch Jim’s psi points. His own telepathic abilities flood with their shared emotions. Not breaking the kiss, he lets their minds collide.
