WIP Lancelot/Vulgate Cycle Concepts
A peek at some Arthurian concepts I've been drawing since the weekend. Mostly focused on the love between Galehaut, Lancelot and Guinevere in the Vulgate Cycle.📖
Top row: An infant Galehaut held by his mother the Fair Giantess, Galehaut, Lancelot, and Lady of the Lake with infant Lancelot.
Middle row: Draft of Galehaut, Lancelot and Queen Guinevere embracing under a night sky.
Bottom row: Guinevere, Lancelot & Galehaut, Lady of the Lake, and King Arthur.
Also shout out to Kaz Rowe and their new video that sent me down the Vulgate Cycle rabbit hole. It's 2025 and we're having a Galehaut revival🔥

THE MOONLIT KNIGHT, my first book in the ELEGY OF AN EMPIRE series, releases on 1st July 2025!
The first installment of a planned epic, this romantic Arthurian retelling set in Persia features themes of self-discovery and acceptance in a world where magic and curses are all too real.
The seeds of Camelot's demise have already been sowed. L. R. Tourmaline's Elegy of An Empire story transforms the mythical bedrock of our world into a foundation for rising dreams — and crushing nightmares. Populating the fantastical landscape of King Arthur's Britain and beyond comes a plethora of familiar characters and beasts of all creeds working together toward a common goal: to live and love freely in the most ambitious kingdom ever conceived, and make it out alive when it inevitably falls. Written to emulate the epic literature that inspired it, the Elegy of An Empire series promises a legendary tale which pays homage to the echelons of popular narratives that came before, while simultaneously introducing storylines of old, nearly forgotten, and as of yet, unexplored.

“I need to think about it” objectively HILARIOUS response to being accused of treason
Perceval 4th Continuation / via Arthurian Preservation Project
Mordred and Percival's duel in the Perceval Continuations. It seems like they were evenly matched! But in the end, Percival won and Mordred begs him for mercy, to which Percival then sends him off to Arthur's court as his prisoner.
bonus:
“Then Sir Gawain thought a little, like a man who believed he would never be well again. “If God were to grant me my health,” he said, “I’d immediately wish to be the most beautiful maiden in the world, happy and healthy, on condition that he would love me above all others, all his life and mine.”
Thanks @gringolet for putting this part in my head for years. Your works have haunted me, in the best way possible.
