Island Investigations-Don't Panic
The next closest suspect in the investigation is Ivan Hartvigg, who works inside the tourist shop at [-48, 44]. Ivan will let you know that his shop was robbed, and that the combination to his safe, which he himself cannot remember, was also stolen. All he can remember is that the code was in four parts, in letters and numbers. He does remember things that relate to each piece of the code however, so it's up to you to figure them out. This starts the quest Lost Memories.
Ivan remembers that the first part of the safe's combination relates to some vague theories, so head over to Matt Hematik at [-50,44]. Naturally Matt is familiar with it, and lets you know that the answer is "obviously" 42.
For the second part, Ivan recalls seeing the letters somewhere at a crater. Head off into the forest past Matt to Pinki Crater at [-51,40]. You'll find a sign with the letters GG:
The next part is a very specific number apparently: the year that Sauroshells first arrived on the island. To figure this out, speak to a local expert on dreggons and the like. Dina Tapio is at the dock at [-46,44], and she'll tell you that the date, the third part of the combination, is 639.
The fourth and final part of the combination relates to the Captain's age..and while many consider it rude to ask that sort of thing, we really need to know, so go a couple maps back to [-48,44] where Captain Jane Away waits by her boat. She tells you in no uncertain terms how insulted she is, and answers with a firm NO.
Enter the store and give Ivan the combination: 42-GG-639-NO. Ivan manages to open his safe with the combination you gave him, and in recompense, relieves himself into the vial you hand him. You obtain the sample, and finish Lost Memories.
The next suspect on our list is Stok the sacrier at [-50,45]. After running around for the first two people, you ask for a sample right away. The emotionless Stok refuses at first, but you manage to convince the Vulkanian to get him some salt for Plimok Soup in return for it. You head off to collect salt crystals, and start the Needs More Salt! quest.
Run to the north-east corner of the island through Ponifar forest to take the boat at [-49,36] and reach Anonimoy Island.
Collect salt by clicking these crystal formations. There are a number of them, but you need to make sure you collect three different kinds of salt, so you may need to go down a map and collect some more on the sand.
Now you need to take them to a salt grinder, so go to Bar Racuda by the boat at [-46,44](it might be faster to use a Recall Potion and just take the boat back).
Click on the salt grinder to find that it's stuck..Report back to Stock and explain what the problem is, and he'll direct you to his cousin Stak, by Surf Beach(where you looked for Suze's bow meow earlier).
Stak is also a suspect in the Medal theft, so now is a good time to pick up his quest-ask him about surfing and offer your help repairing surfing equipment. He'll give you a pair of Masticator Gloves to collect gum from trees and a pumice stone, as well as the How do you fill a hole? quest. You'll be unable to finish Stok's quest if you pick up Stak's until it is finished, but that's fine, as it's a short quest, relatively.
Head left into the forests, equip the gloves, and find a gum tree. There are two of them in each forest, but you only need to collect from one of them in each area.
The most efficient route would be:
~Run north to [-54,40], collect the gum.
~Run east to [-51,39], collect a second Wriggly Gum.
~Walk one map right then down, and collect a Pumice Stone at [-50,40].
~Harvest the last piece of gum at [-51,42] then just head west again to bring everything to Stak.
With the repair materials, Stak will reward you with another sample, and you'll complete How Do You Fill A Hole?.
Back to the salt! Tell Stak that the salt grinder is broken, and he'll send you to Ju-ju to get an Abrasive Corktail and repair the grinder. Ju-ju works at the Bar Racuda, so catch a canoe at [-46, 44] and enter the building.
Talk to Ju-ju and explain to her why you need an Abrasive Corktail. After a minute, she'll hand you one, so head out and click on the grinder again, which will unblock it for you! Click on it again to grind the three types of salt crystals together into a powder then return to Stok. Hand it over to him, along with the vial.. and let him fill it up for you. You'll receive another sample, and complete Needs More Salt!
There's only one sample left to obtain, and it will be covered in the next post.
