As stated in a previous headcanon post, Ahri can see a person’s past as well as experiencing their feelings when she comes in contact with their soul, especially when she’s DEVOURING said soul ; in spite of this, with the passing of time, her powers have also grown & have thus given her more abilities as far as the field of memories is concerned. One of them can be referred to with the general term of PSYCHOMETRY :
Psychometry is a psychic ability in which a person can sense or "read" the history of a person by simply touching it: such impressions can be perceived as images, sounds, smells, tastes and even emotions. It’s, to put it simply, the ability to make RELEVANT ASSOCIATIONS from a person of unknown origins by simply making contact with them ; in such a way, the user can learn their general life-history, although the memories that are shared are usually RANDOM , for the user is unable to push their will and desires upon the capability itself. Psychometry is thus a form of scrying - a psychic way of "seeing" something that is not ordinarily seeable: thanks to it, this extraordinary vision is available through touch. The user may be able to sense what the person is/was like, what they did, their happiest & their saddest moments. Perhaps most important, the psychic can sense how the person felt at a particular time. Stronger users can also practice Psychometry upon objects to learn everything about their makers or they might be able to see blurred fragments of a person’s possible future.
Of course, Ahri’s Psychometry is extremely weak right now. When she touches an object for example, this ability does not work with it merely because she has grown accustomed to interacting solely with the souls of the living, something that inanimate objects obviously lack ; at the same time, she has never foreseen anyone’s future at the mere touch, which might be explained by the fact that she was, indeed, on the verge of ending of that same life.
She’s obviously well aware of this & this is why she LONGS FOR MORE POWER : were she to learn how to transfer this same ability upon inanimate objects, it would greatly help her with the research of her parents, for their only memento would stop being a mere object & would, instead, become a talking guide on how to find them.
