The hero chuckled gently at her delight, glad that he could provide that for her. Azure hues observed her gnaw at the fruit for a few moments before sitting down and sighing softly. Glancing up at her, he then spoke. “So what’s next, after we rest for a bit?”

     Midna took the apple from her mouth for a      moment to answer is question, swallowing the      bits in her mouth before speaking.

           ”We’re going to get rid of the twilight over the                Lanayru Province.”

Observing her closely, Link let out a hefty sigh before nodding his head. "Great, well we better rest up.. We have some work to do," he murmured.

Azure hues gazed at the figure strolling so elegantly in the distance, making its way towards Link. Little by little, he saw the perfectly bluish off-white skin, and a cloak he would not ever forget seeing. The young hero’s eyes began to grow wide as he concluded that it was, indeed, the Twilight Princess:

Midna.

A friend he had known that he would never lay eyes on again in this lifetime. But somehow, she was in the same vicinity as him, her ruby red eyes gazing at him. All in a moment, Link felt an overwhelming sense of gladness, bouncing excitedly once before dashing towards her, a grin on his lips. “Midna!" He shouted at he sprinted, stopping directly in front of her. The blond panted heavily, his mad dash taking his breath away. "..Hi,” the man murmured, before feeling the urge to embrace her. But he was too embarrassed already. The stupid smile on his face would certainly satisfy her enough.

— ; The royal couldn’t help the chuckle that passed her lilac lips. He was a dork, a silly farm boy, already out of breath from the sprint and yet he could destroy several monsters in one swipe. She placed her cool index finger beneath his chin, tilting his head up slightly as a grin curved her mouth. “Hey there, hero. What’s got you so happy?” She asked teasingly, giving a tilt of her head.

Really, she was just taking him in at a second’s glance; his fierce yet undeniably gentle blue eyes, his darkened golden hair, tanned skin. Said skin was mapped with scars, some she recognized from their travels. Her cardinal gaze flicked back to meet his oceanic one, black lashes feathering her eyes as she blinked. “Did you miss me?”

And for some reason, all it took was her finger on his chin to make him freeze up, a nervous tightening of his stomach. “It’s just— I mean— You’re.. You’re here!" He gazed up into her scarlet eyes, his sapphiric hues wide and in awe of her. He always had been, really. A bomb seemed to tick in his head, he was unsure when he would give into his instincts to hug her.. But they didn’t last long.

Almost suddenly, he slung his arms around her torso, his head burying itself in the crook of her neck. “Yeah, I did miss you, you tease," The hero finally managed to choke out in a joking tone, but still overjoyed to see her. Their good-byes had been so formal and bland that he found it fitting to greet her this way, especially after days upon weeks upon months about thinking he would not ever speak to her again. The way it happened had haunted him, and somehow she was here. That was all that mattered to him. Link didn’t want to look her in the eye, that would only give her the satisfaction of teasing him more, so he left the moment as it was and finally released her before gazing at the ground.

”How.. Are you.. Here?”
