"Hey there (name), it's me, ya boy."
"Forensic science is crazy."
(WHEEZE)
"Oh my God!"
"Who's that guy?"
"The devil is here! Send God!"
"I wish I didn't know it but now it's in my brain..."
"There's nothing to suggest (name) as the murderer."
"I connected the dots!"
"You didn't connect shit!"
"Oh, I don't like it."
"I'm done."
"This guy is very suspicious."
"Why would someone make that up?"
"I remember this fucking guy."
"That's good journalism."
"I'm so nervous."
"I hate demons."
"...yeah, I can see that."
"Can you look even just a little bit worried?"
"Are ghosts real?"
"I'm fucking nervous, man. I feel like I'm going to vomit."
"Lucky for us!"
"Shut up."
"I came prepared for this."
"There is, like, records of people practicing rituals in this forest and on the bridge."
"Stop looping me into your shit."
"Alright, we'll come back for you."
"Give me a heads up if you start to feel murderous."
"Anyone out here?"
"Oh shit. There's something over there."
"Hello?"
"We're here for the cult stuff."
"They wouldn't be hiding in the bushes, would they?"
"Smells like shit in here."
"This guy sounds like a real piece of shit."
"It's so much worse than you'd think."
. Her hands are nice, toying gently at the buttons on his shirt and nearly making him forget the horror that was his body beneath. She wants him to uncover, and to some sad extent he wants that too. For another pair of human eyes to see him and not despair for the ugliness of his flesh. The Governor takes one of her hands hard in his fist, leaning down to ghost his mouth at the corner of still lips. Pain flares in his chest. He doesn’t want her to see him. Not like that. Not yet. “Uh-uh. My way.”
. He pulls her in for another kiss, lips melting softly to hers beneath the fur of his mustache, a kiss full of sorrow. This one, he did mean, and run through it is the sharp ache of his loneliness. He teases a hand beneath her shirt and runs his palm over her toned stomach. “Your shirt first.”
' my way ' - - a simple statement that had her heart a flutter, anticipation burning higher within the confines of her body. Who was Beth but a submissive bitch with a loud mouth? Nobody, it seemed, for the eager returning of his kiss was far too quick far too soon in their encounter.
His sorrow was not lost, and perhaps it was because Beth felt the same way. To the same degree? She didn't know, maybe even doubted that they were close. But the feeling was familiar in an almost painful way. She wanted to HELP, even if for a few hours.
"That seems unfair," Playful words were murmured against his lips, his touch causing goosebumps to erupt across the dxatpanse of her stomach. It was welcome, desired, needed. What wasn't was the thought of her shirt coming off. Much like Brian, it was a self conscious issue, deeply routed in years of inadequacy.
Fuck it. Deep breath, Beth. It's the apocalypse. People aren't picky.
Hands found the hem of her shirt, grasping to SLOWLY peel from her body. Making a small show out of it, to tease, to hopefully detract from the skin being revealed. Once over her head, the garment was carelessly tossed aside.
"Mark me up, daddy," Moreso a request than an outright order, words MOCKING and teasing. Suggestive name was uttered as a joke, to hopefully get him to do something beyond kisses and light touches. "Fuck, sorry, it's been a while. I don't mean to be impatient," As if to prove her point, she placed a kiss to the edge of his jaw, breath gentle upon the tippy top of his neck.
. The mention of his daughter (Oh blessed Penny, his sweet little girl, how terrible and pathetic was his love for that child) sends him into a fog of warm remembrance. His darling girl was still waiting for him at home, sick as could be, the poor little tyke. A smile forms on his cracked lips. “I don’t want you to fall ill, but… If you’d like to meet my little girl I certainly wouldn’ mind takin’ you to see her.” The Governor smiles, a kabuki mask of something far too friendly. “You’ll have to promise me somethin’ if I take you to her, though…”
“You gotta keep it a secret. I don’t want the other kids around here thinkin’ they can disturb her while she’s resting.”
"You wouldn't..? I don't want to, like, force you into anything Mr. Governor, it's fine if you don't want really want to," Sam was ever one to HATE backing people into a corner, one of the stark differences between herself and Beth; most of the time, she preferred to deal with those already backed into something. She was making a conscious effort to change, though.
Bright eyes accompanies the small, enthusiastic nod firstly offered to display her agreement to his terms. Keep it to herself - Sam was a NATURAL at secret keeping! "Of course. I understand. Please, lead the way!"
@vxmpire-bxt : “just kiss me.”
. He could be honest outright and say that he hadn’t expected that out of her. But he doesn’t want to. The Governor straightens in his seat, hesitating for a moment before standing and crossing the rug to gather her in his arms and kiss her. His lips form a tight seal against hers, and push her hot mouth open so that he can taste her breath and suck it into himself as though he were feeding on her soul. Brian tics his tongue against her upper lip, then pulls away.
“You’re real cute, y’know.”
At first, Beth expected him to merely stare. In fact, her lips parted, ready to gently mock him for it. Hands planted on her hips, her eyes lit up as he stood and approached. Anticipation melded with desire, thick in her blood before she was held close and their lips connected; a soft hum given into the exchange, lips all too willing to part on his whim.
"I know. I'm a delight," She mused softly, confidence on the border of arrogance. Charming, she'd argue. Hands found his chest, fingers idly playing with the buttons of his shirt, "Kiss me again. But like you mean it. And maybe get rid of this shirt."

Sam hadn't expected him to be as WELCOMING as he was; judging from looks, he was more on the sketchy side. Plus Beth's stories, but they were moreso warnings. Sam knew she wouldn't be allowed to meet Governor one-on-one if Beth truly considered him a threat.
A smile, KIND, graced her lips, as sincere as the day she was born. Her eyes shone with a shaded wonder, as of what she was about to say would be considered touchy.
"I heard you have a daughter?" A request to meet her in of itself, framed in a way that could be interpreted as merely seeking validation.
. It wasn’t uncommon to see people in this post-plague world with a criminal background. The news doesn’t even make him flinch– dealing was on the lesser end of offenses known to him among his own people. Drug trafficking brings to mind the shootout he’d seen once in Athens, between four tweakers at the far end of the street from his music store, and The Governor smiles tightly instead of replying to the information. His tone is calm, nonchalant, as though in a schoolyard discussion with another parent before the turn. “When my daughter was born? I understood why people killed each other over custody disputes, yknow. She could ask me to shoot myself in the foot and I’d do it without hesitation.”
. “I’d give anythin’ to make her better…” He trails off, lost again in his own mind. Brian genuinely believes in the dead thing captured in his apartment. She could, potentially, get better– at least in his eyes. He saw flashes of her often, when she wasn’t hungry, little snapshots of Penny Blake trapped within the hollow, cracking porcelain doll of her corpse. His heart aches something terrible. For the first time, The Governor sees something connective between them. That same human suffering attributed to being a parent, or in his case, the perverse shadow of a parent. “I’d like to meet Samantha someday. I’d offer to let Penny come down to play with ‘er but she’s… a delicate child. Too sick to leave the house.”
“If it means anythin’, I respect you feelin’ so strongly about your kid. Says somethin’ good about you. Now c’mon. We can scare Dwayne into givin’ us the better shit.”
"I get that. To risk your life for your kid... a universal feeling," A nod was given his way, a silent acknowledgement of their similarity before she smiled a little wider, "I'll tell you what: next time I come over, I'll bring her with me," A promise made, though it was unclear if she meant to truly pull through with it. As far as she was concerned, it was on a ' we'll see how I feel that day ' basis. "Tell her I said hey and that I hope she gets better."
Cue a head tilt as she processed his RESPECT. It counted for a lot these days ( in her mind anyway ) , and it made her smile shift into a smirk that merely grew at his suggestion. She stood and stretched out her right leg, groaning softly as something popped. Good shit, great feeling.
"Do we need to get physical with this ' Dwayne ' ? If so, allow me to lead the charge," Despite her words, a gesture was given for him to head out first, "Unless you'd prefer if I linger in the shadows. I do like watching."

. Penny still festers inside him, his ugly, moldering, undead little doll in the pinafore dress and dark pigtails. The place she’d taken up inside his rotted heart aches, throbbing with each beat, slowly being replaced by this woman’s presence beside him. He sighs, and puts Penny away, returns her to the internal apartment on her dog leash. “I guess I wanna get high if you’re up for that. Got a guy here that grows pot. It’s shit but beggars can’t be choosers.”
“You got a kid? It uh… does things to you, y’know. It changes you.”
"Shit..." Beth considered her old life; trafficking people and drugs like they were nothing more than commodities on a ship. Truth be told, she missed those days. She missed Vaas. She missed Carlos. "I used to traffic drugs, so the thought of smoking up? Yes sir."
"Yes, I have a kid. Her name is Samantha. She's, uh," Her nose scrunched at the thought of saying Sam was everything. The only thing keeping her from eating lead on cold nights. Maybe a bit too much. "She's a good kid. More or less my own blood minus her dead parents," A shrug, soft, and there was a... peaceful look about Beth for the first time since they'd met. "I could bring her down at some point, let you meet her. She's polite, shy, but you'd like her."
Let's not ramble, Beth. That was hard not to do, but... she sighed softly, looking down at her worn shoes briefly, "It does change you. Honestly didn't think I wanted a kid. I was more of a cunt. Hoyt happened, and then she happened, and suddenly I'm willing to walk up to a walker and get bit if it meant she's safe."

"Okay, okay, hang on," A small shift so that she came to lay atop him. She wasn't heavy by any means, chin resting upon her hands as they rest on his chest, eyes peering his way, "Oh, don't give me that look. If I'm too much of a bother, I'll just go find someone else..."
. He takes a long drink from his cup of tea. It’s good. Not necessarily something he’d enjoy under normal circumstances, he was more of a coffee man, but the herbal tang touches the back of his throat in a pleasant way. The Governor sighs, his breath hot, forming a cloud of mist as it exits his mouth. His eyes find her again, and a grimace crosses his tired, aged features. “It gets dark and if I ain’t busy? Everythin’ comes floodin’ back and I can’t stop it. All the people I’ve killed. My brother dyin’. My… little girl gettin’ sick.”
“I can’t sleep ‘cause I remember all of it. And I know that sounds all boo-hoo n’ stupid but it’s the truth.”
Any smart comments were dulled when he mentioned his daughter. Beth had, more or less, a kid of her own as of the starting years of the apocalypse. If anything were to happen to Sam, it wouldn't hurt because of her promise to the kid's dead parents, but rather because of the connection formed. She could imagine how it felt to have your biological child hurt in any capacity. Huh.
"I get it, Governor," For once, she felt genuine empathy. As if she wasn't emotionally stunted or unstable. As if she cared truly for his qualms. "I do, and I can't help you get rid of that. Realistically I can't, anyway," A look cast to the ground before her gaze befell him once more, "Well, let's get your mind off of it. What do you want to do? Wallowing in self-pity isn't an option, love."

. It feels like a trap. It certainly must have been, with Beth the niceties always seemed to be laced in some sort of inherent danger. He sits down anyway, yawning as he settles his ass down in the understuffed chair and nursed his tired eyes. The Governor rubs mildly at the purple moons beneath his lower lids, groaning beneath his breath as he takes the cup of tea from her. “I feel like this is one of your cruel jokes. Are you punkin’ me?”
. He takes a long drink and sighs, allowing the fog to mist over his pale face. “I ain’t got the energy for your games is all.”
No reply came at first, and she merely watched him; lips curled into a frown as he sipped, as he continued, and that in of itself proved to look threatening. Like she was, indeed, out to get him. But no. There was no funny taste, no strange aftertaste, no odd feelings - it was alright.
"I don't sleep much either," Words were, suddenly, much softer with his close proximity. It was strange not to hear her yelling or speaking with a loud tone of voice. Her gaze briefly fixated onto the dimly lit bed across the room, bathed in moonlight and false promises of sleep.
"I don't have the energy to play my games, Gov'. Don't worry," Maybe her assurances wouldn't be taken legitimately, and that was okay. She leaned back against the chair, elbow resting upon the backrest so she could prop her head up and look at him fully, "Do you want to go for a walk? Tire yourself out physically. It helps. So does pacing or cleaning your weapons."

Hc regarding Beth & her captives:
There are times Beth gets tired of the "creative" disposal of captives who refuse to adapt. It's down to depression, mainly. She doesn't get the same sick kick out of it, or the euphoric feeling. It's nothing but a chore. It's days like that when she lets other people take over or just shoots/stabs them instead of letting them go to the walkers.
