Yes, thats right! The moment you have been waiting for is finally here: the Welcome to Hell Big Bang 2018 signups are officially open as of this post! Signups for both writers and artists will run until January 21st, just in case!

The schedule for this Big Bang will go as follows:

Artists claim fics to draw for Mar. 8 - Mar. 11
Announcement of who claimed what Approx. Mar. 15
First Check In Apr. 14 - Apr. 17
Final Dropout Window May 19 - May 21
Second Check In June 1 - June 3
Final Deadline July 27 - July 29
Posting Jul 30 - Aug 6
Here’s how this will work:
When writers sign up, they will start working on their pieces. Between Feb 26 - March 4, they will have access to a Google Form where they can provide a synopsis (probably around 2-4 sentences) and an excerpt of their fic, as well as ships in it and what the eventual rating will be. Then, from March 8 - 11, artists will be able to sign up for fics based on what was provided, until everyone is paired up. Writers and artists will be checked in on twice throughout the process to ensure that they are working on their pieces. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FINAL DROPOUT WINDOW IS MAY 19 - 21 – anyone who drops out after that time will be penalized, as it is extremely unfair to your partner! Everyone must be done and have their work submitted July 27 - 29 for quality checking, and then posting will run from July 30th to August 6th, 2018. Most of the correspondence will take place over email from the official email ( [email protected] ) so please check your email periodically and provide an accessible one!
Fics must be a minimum of 5,000 words, unless you are collaborating. If you are collaborating with someone else, your fic must be 7,500 words. Previously posted work/new chapters are not allowed, however, sequels that have not been posted are fine. We would prefer you start a new work, but if you are doing a work in progress, please provide your original word count in your signup and write the 5k words on top of what you had already written, to keep in the spirit of the Big Bang.
Artists have a bit more flexibility, as they are basing their work on the fic they are paired up with. For artists, we require at least one artwork per fanfic, preferably 2-3 or more. (This includes moodboards and edits). For playlists, at least 10 songs, and for fan videos, please make it at least 1 minute. However, if you are collaborating, please create 3-5 works minimum, or a playlist of 15 songs minimum. Fan video time is raised to 1.5-2 minutes minimum.
