Wandering the streets with the isekai truck

My favorite manga of all is Noblesse. Years ago, I was about to buy the English paperback edition because I was afraid it would never be released in Italian, but now it's available!

Here is why I am not - yet - putting any of the items I create or paint up for sale.

First of all, I dislike the direction eBay has taken; it is full of professional sellers with their own shops who crowd out private individuals, making it harder for them to get noticed. Etsy is the ideal alternative, but here in Italy, having a sales page classifies you as a professional merchant. This means you have to get your tax affairs in order and complete a series of formalities before you can even open an account on the site. I do intend to do this, to sort out the red tape and launch my Etsy shop without having to worry about government inspections. Naturally, I’ll occasionally list manga/anime-themed items, "one-of-a-kind" pieces that will never be recreated. Of course, I paint other things too, like Christmas decorations and various objects; I’d also like to start making Venetian masks again, seeing as the materials have been gathering dust in the garage for far too long ^^ Now that I have a 3D printer, I can also more easily make cosplay accessories and other trinkets LOL.

When the time comes to launch this project, I will obviously announce it and start accepting commissions. Naturally, the requests will need to be reasonable and - in the case of copyrighted subjects - must not overlap with official merchandise currently on the market.

Okay, there's clearly still a lot of work to be done on the statues, but for a first attempt, I'm definitely satisfied ^^

First try with 3D project printing

I’ve finally printed the first 3D designs! Now the resin needs to cure for a few days, and then I can use files to properly finish and smooth everything out ^^ The statues are quite small, 12 cm (4.72 inches) and I think I went overboard with the details: I’ll probably go crazy when it comes time to paint them LOL.

New project(s)!

Hi! This time I have a really ambitious project: I bought some oversized T-shirts and cut them open down the front—I plan to add a zipper later, but not right now, as it would get in the way while I'm painting. I’ve always wanted to create something for myself themed around Lupin the Third, but there are so many TV series and movies that I couldn't decide... so I thought I’d include a bit of everything! For now, I’m just sketching out the general plan; I’ll definitely have a strip of film wrap around the shirt and then paint each individual frame... Wish me luck!

Just look at what I got as a gift for my 50th birthday ^^ I snapped a few photos in a rush because I had to get the statue safely into the display cabinet right away. My husband never disappoints me ♥

I don't think I'll watch the Eleceed anime, I'll just stick to reading the manhwa, and I'm fine with that. I already know I won't make it to the end of the first episode just like with Noblesse. In the case of Noblesse, a big part of the problem was the abysmal animation; then they changed all the Korean names, so I couldn't follow the dialogue because I didn't recognize the characters anymore. When they revealed the setting was actually Japan, changing the location entirely, I just gave up. I know I'll feel that same intense annoyance with Eleceed, so I'll spare myself the misery. Instead, I'm looking forward to the animated version of Tomb Raider King by EEK Studio ^^I absolutely loved their work on Love, Death & Robots

Obviously this is a chibi figure so it's my own interpretation of the character ^^

Home 3D printing has its limits, so I couldn't go too wild with the hair... Actually, I already did LOL. I'll start printing next week, and we'll see if the designs all need to be redone.

Anyway, today I also finished this T-shirt I'd been working on for a few days ^^

I’m running out of space for my books, so with my husband’s agreement I moved my collection of danmei novels onto his shelves. I explained what they are and the social context surrounding these kinds of works in China, and I suggested we watch a donghua together: The Master of Diabolism. I’ve already seen it, but I think it’s truly worth a second watch. Tonight, we’re starting the second season (from 2019) ^^

I can say I'm proud of this one too, as you can see in the secon picture (there's my thumb too) the bag is tiny and it wasn't easy to paint every detail

It's clearly not finished yet, just a preview. Now I need to go over all the black outlines, and, starting tomorrow, I'll begin applying the final clear coats.
