Am I cursed?
Warning: A rant with unpopular opinions
Veramonte is going to regret this, I'll bet on it
Today I worked a bit on both shoulder bags, the cats are finished (just need the final clear varnish), and tomorrow I'll start coloring the Kayden-Cat. The Campfire Cooking-themed bag is coming along nicely, and I'm already dreading the thought of giving the slime character a translucent effect... I'll do that last!
So far, I've only designed chibi figures, but now I've decided to try creating a real figure based on the manhwa images. I'm trying to do it by trial and error; the sculpting is still very raw, and I don't know if it'll turn out well. Eventually, I'll change my technique; the only solution is trial and error.
Yesterday I started working on two small shoulder bags, and I'd say things are going smoothly. Today, if my headache goes away, I might start coloring the images.
I always work on multiple things at once because I have other things to do while I wait for the paint to dry. Today I decided to take advantage of the fact that this shoulder bag has a front pocket, so I decided to reproduce two images so I can include all the Eleceed cats. It should turn out pretty cute...
It's Pride Month: all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, are entitled to equal dignity, protection, and fundamental human rights
Needless to say I'm shipping those two LOL
This is a work in progress; I combined four screenshots to create an image suitable for reproduction in a small 9x11 cm space. I usually prefer to take the drawings from the original manga, but in this case I decided to use the anime drawings because the images are clearer and more fluid, while the manga has a nervous and rather "sketched" design that isn't suitable for the project I had in mind.
This is one of Rumiko Takahashi's works that I love the most, that said, it's obvious that I absolutely had to create something themed. It's an old shoulder bag that I used a lot, both before and after painting it. I usually prefer to use images from the manga, but in this case I combined the shooting stars background from the anime opening. This is because when I was planning the work, with just the figure of Lum, it still felt incomplete. I'm completely satisfied with the final result.
As I previously said I'm waiting a tax refund to buy a 3D printer. In the meantime, I'm creating several models that I'll then print. Creation isn't just about modeling; it also involves a lot of study to hollow out the statues so they don't weigh them down and create vents so they don't explode if a small gas pocket were to form inside. This isn't unusual for home-printed statues; the resin used for printing is fundamentally different from that used by large action figure companies, and proper precautions must be taken to avoid damaging the model.
Of course, when I start printing and painting the models, I'll also publish those stages of the process. I think it could be interesting and perhaps helpful to other enthusiasts like me.
Just let me know if you need a colour, no way I'm gonna move my furry butt
...and I've made it, now in a couple of days I just need to put a couple of layers of transparent finishing varnish.
I'm not the type to humble bragging, it came out pretty well and I'm proud 😎
Finally this artbook is in my hands [evil laugh] I'm already thinking about next projects: 3D statue of Mustang and Greed/Lin, maybe a chibi version of the Armstrong brother and sister? Dunno, my to-do-list is growing bigger day by day LOL
It's not my real job so I can take my sweet time, there's no need to rush.
Well well well... Things are going smoothly, by the end of the week I'm having this finished. Needless to say, Mustang is my favourite bad*ss
oh my... I just started rereading the manhwa because I need tons of screenshots for my new projects, and this is how Javier looked like in the very first chapter
...and I got it! Husky and his white cat Shizun vol. 3 is mine, can't wait to read it
