Send me   â C o l d ? â   for my museâs reaction to yours wrapping a coat / blanket around them to warm them up
"My lord. Oromë," He felt he ought to bow, but the cold and age had made his knees stiff, and he only inclined his head and hoped it was respectful enough. He hated the cold; it reminded him of the dark and damp dungeon of Tol-in-Gaurhoth. "Thank you."
Orome looked upon the aged man before him, his eyes showing a fondness in them like a father watching his child discovering and exploring the unknown for the first time. A magic shifted around them and comfortable chairs with warm furs appeared for the two to sit in, âI hope you dont mind I am keeping you from your wife for a moment or more, but there is... things I wish to discuss with you. I have been granted a permission from Eru and am curious what you might think and say of my proposal.â
"It is her anger you must face for making her wait, my lord." Beren said, fond and teasing, as he sat down with a groan of relief. The warmth was so much better.
He could not imagine what Lord Oromë would want with him. He was not a hunter - he had not been since his father died, and the beasts of the wilds had guided him to Doriath.
"What is it, my lord?"
He chuckled softly, well aware of the scorn of a wife made to wait overlong, but part of him felt Luthien would be less angry when she heard what news he brought, âIt is a choice, for you to make, but you need not answer right away. You can take my words to your family and discuss it with them, find where you wish to go and then blow a horn and I will return for your answer.â
Orome closed his eyes, âAcross the sea in Aman, I hunt and train younglings and not so young ones in a forest so massive that you could not imagine the steps taken to walk one end to another. It is here that our great father, Eru, has granted to me a special permission for those whoâs hearts and akin to mine. Hunters and adventurers who have loved the forest and its animals, who hunt without cruelty and learn all they can without leaving the land ruined.â
âWhen men who are like this, men like you, Beren, part from life they may choose to go and live on in this forest, and take their life mate with them to live there as well. You would have to stay in the wood, but you could go there, where the elves live instead of following other Men to their mysterious afterlife. You are the first I bring this offer to. So take your time.â
