Out of all important topic, this year I wanna talk about depression and suicide The reason is, I've heard so many news about suicide especially in Indonesia. The increasing people of suicide terrified me. Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death in the world for those aged 15-24 years (save.org). Please note that depression isnt the same as stress, grieve or sadness. In major depression, mood and/or interest that one used to enjoy are decreased for most of two weeks (or more). There is also feeling of worthlessness and guilt unlike common sadness where people tend to maintain self-esteem. Sometimes, depression occured without any apparent reason and occured for long periods if time.
