"I’ll explain as soon as you’re safe.”

His words carried guarantee of a promise, his head nodding in order to affirm them. He knew what it was like to see a friend possessed by one of those demonic sons of bitches, and could tell that it wasn’t easy. He could hardly imagine what it was like for someone who’d never seen nor heard of the supernatural.

But little did he know that the girl was supernatural herself. Not dangerous, no. But supernatural all the same.

Allowing her to tug, he figured she’d know the surroundings far better than he did, despite him having been here before. Beacon Hills seemed to attract monsters of all kinds from far and wide; like a literal beacon. But there was no time to worry about that now.

”Down there?” He suggested, gesturing at just one of the streets available to them. It stretched out ahead, and was in the open. While they could be seen, there was less chance of an ambush from her ‘friend’.

Lydia nodded, blindly turning down the street he'd suggested. She hadn't a clue what the street sign had said, her eyes had passed over it without seeing it. She was scared and worried all at the same time.They were a few blocks down when there was something of an alleyway available to them. Two buildings beside each other with a small space in between. There wasn't even enough room for the usual dumpster, but there was enough for her to pull him in and hide.

She stood for a moment, trying to catch her breath--angry with herself for being so scared. A street driving down the road made her jump slightly--one hand flying out to grab the helpful strangers'.

"Sorry--s o r r y." she mumbled. Lydia closed her eyes, letting her hand fall away. She needed to c a l m d o w n.

There was a scream building in her chest that she was just itching to release, but she couldn't. Not in front of the man.

That's when she thought about the fact that she didn't even know his name. He could be just as bad as whatever had taken over Stiles. She had to expect everything.

"You're name. What's you're name.

Who are you?"

He smiles down at her, playing with the ends of her curled hair. Was he really worth that much to her? It was surprising, the fact that someone could care about him that much.

"I will----- and you, won't look too bad, yourself."

Despite her general hard exterior, Lydia nearly shivered in delight at the thought. She could have more times like this--more times with Jackson just holding her and speaking sweet nothings to her-- for the rest of her life.

“I wish that was it. If I asked his permission to marry you, he’d slap me. And, at our wedding, he’ll be glaring at me as he walks you down the isle.”

He grinned down at her, holding her close to him, kissing Lydia’s forehead.

"Been thinking about that a lot, have you? Well...if that does happen, then, I'm afraid he'll just have to suck it up. Being disowned couldn't even keep me from walking down that isle."

She smirks up at him, glad that she has to---happy with the little things, like the fact that he's taller, and the way his voice sounds when he speaks to her.

Jackson smiled at the feeling of Lydia’s fingers in his hair, holding her close to him once he pulled away from the kiss. ”You aren’t getting rid of me any time soon… to your father’s dismay. He always hated me.”

"Jealous of your good looks. Have you seen him? ---He's already balding."

Her arms slide around his neck as she looks up at him, loving the feeling of his body against hers.

Jackson honestly didn’t know what to say. It was the first time in a very long time that he was at a loss for words. He looked down at Lydia, pushing his fingers through his hair and shaking his head. He then leaned down, gently taking her cheeks in his hands, and pressing a kiss to her lips.

“You’re too good for me, Lydia Martin.”

Her hands wound themselves in his hair. She inhaled his cologned smell as he kissed her and smiled almost sadly when he pulled away.

"Too cute for you, too." She murmured, playfully, "but, ah well, I'm stuck with you now."
