the criminal minds bau would profile the shit out of light yagami
i love it when fanfics have their own little fandoms. like if i went up to a haikyuu fan and said to them “in another life” and they just started crying like thats when you KNOW
she ra movie but its about mara’s journey as she ra and her eventual sacrifice
quite literally I have never been more emotional watching a show than when I watched unsaid emily of Julie and the Phantoms. Not the series finale of thirteen reason why, not the 100th episode of criminal minds. This frickin show made me sob so hard. I just love my mom so much :(((
Future Avatar Cycles???
With the modernity of Republic City and more and more children being born of multiple heritages (i.e. Bolin and Mako having both earthbending and firebending genetics), what does that mean for the Avatar cycle? The cycle is based on heritage from each nation but what does that mean when people stop having one specific heritage and rather a mix (like how today people aren't just one race but more and more people are mixed)? I'm curious how small a DNA trace can be for it to count as a specific heritage. For example, let's say in a few cycles we get back to a Fire Nation avatar but this individual only is like 5% Fire Nation and a mix of the other nations, is it enough to be a Fire Nation avatar? Or would that person even be a firebender? Could you look predominantly Earth Kingdom but still have enough Water Tribe DNA to be a water bender? And also now that the air nation has been reborn through people of all different heritages, there really isn't a specific air nomad DNA set (except for Tenzin and his children but his children are already half since Pema is from the Earth Kingdom).
I suppose you can count it by your largest percentage but what if you don't have a predominant heritage???
Someone please discuss this with me I am spiraling.
my favorite part of the legend of korra is that you get to meet a whole cast full of new characters and benders and it’s great but about 99% of the new earthbenders you meet are beifongs.
idk why Netflix is like “let’s age up the characters in atla to make it more mature and dark” like what part of having literal 12 year olds be tasked with ending a 100 year war against an imperialistic nation that wiped out an entire civilization isn’t dark enough?!?!?!
Listen I’m all here for BIPOC representation in the new atla live action but if they ever get to doing lok and JK Simmons doesn’t reprise his role as Tenzin then what’s the point
the statements “bryke did the best they could in creating such a diverse world with both poc and lgbt+ representation for the time, something that would pave the way for future cartoons” and “bryke are, at the end of the day, straight white men who made several missteps and mistakes by overwesternizing/whitewashing certain characters and ideology” should coexist. it is possible to have love and appreciate for bryke for creating such beautiful shows like atla and lok and it is also even more possible to criticize them for their errors that come from ignorance and implicit bias. the only way future media will be able to learn from the mistakes of previous media is to criticize it and especially amplify marginalized voices when they criticize it.
that being said, if you’re gonna criticize lok when it comes to netflix this friday bc you think korra is ‘cocky’, ‘a mary sue’, or ‘annoying’, please kindly eat a bag of dicks.
“my little shouto” but said like Jill from Dance Moms
the reason why Suyin was never told that Sokka is her father is cuz Toph and Sokka had a ‘bros before hoes’ agreement
Your daily reminder: The Fire nation is not a metaphor for Western Imperialism
The Fire Nation is instead a metaphor for Imperial Japan, who were a major brutal imperialist power between the 1890s to 1945. Zuko even says “I rise with the sun” as a giant sun comes behind him, it isn’t subtle.

If TanaKiyo had a baby imagine all the crazy uncles she’d have!!!
Full offense but sometimes fandom just totally make up the characterization of a character and then complain when that isn’t canon
