“This is Anarchy in the U.K., the explosive 1976 debut single by Sex Pistols. Loud, raw, and rebellious — the song that ignited the UK punk revolution.” ⚡🎸
LECTURE 16: PUNK! The Sex Pistols perform “Anarchy in the UK,” their debut single from November 1976. The song was featured on their only studio album, 1977′s Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols. Of all the bands in the history of rock music to only release one studio album, The Sex Pistols are probably the most influential. Never Mind the Bollocks was – and remains – a landmark album that helped to usher in a Golden Age of Punk Rock. Within months of its release on October 28, 1977, The Sex Pistols were essentially no more. Note that this video combines scenes of both of the Pistols’ bass players, Glen Matlock and Sid Vicious.
