she watches the venom that taints his lips, a rarity to see but not often aimed in her direction. eyes squint as she narrows her gaze onto his person, as though she can figure out his person and what he is trying to do while she brushes past all of the words that he throws her way. it feels like she is listening to a shell of a human, some version of jamie that is not embedded into her history; but rather a ruination version that he warned her of before. "don't do this," she scoffs, as disappointment bleeds to the surface of her war torn countenance, studying him as she stands before him, almost incredulous at his attempt to keep her at arms length. after she just finally eased the slack of her own limb and allowed him slightly closer to her own orbit not terribly long before. "the only way that you're gettin' me out of that car is kickin' and screamin', jamie." her hands are now on her hip as she tilts her chin to look up at him, brows knit together with an added fire igniting inside of her. "you'd save yourself a headache by just lettin' me go with you. why are you actin' like this?" the question follows her statement with an added pace, as if the words ripped out of her before she can even stop it as the thought curls forth in her mind's eye, almost baffled at the man that is standing in front of her.
his train of thought is on a no - stops route, honed in on joshua walker. when it came to the younger, jamie had grown fiercely protective at a young age and it had only been accentuated with the departure from the hunting lifestyle that was intended to be their future. he'd never admitted just how fearful he was that joshua would land himself in hot water. the youngest walker had always been too curious for his own good, it was only a matter of time that such ideation became a reality. jamie's teeth grit tightly, his lips tightened as he holds back a hiss; all of which are extremely rare occurrences for him. normally, jamie was the good man in a storm: he never wavered, standing firm in a state that resembled calm. his gaze lands on hallie, a gruff sigh falling as the tension in his face fades. "josh fucked up, and when i say he fucked up: he fucked up royally, i don't want you anywhere near that shit when it hits the fan, don't you get that?" his brows are tightly knitted, voice increasing in volume at the end as if the stakes were so high that it wasn't in hallie's capability to grasp; in jamie's mind they were. and he couldn't allow himself to explain, to pause long enough to truly register the magnitude of the situation. jamie walker would begin to fall apart at the seams; he battled against it as if the state of affairs were a current dragging him into troubled waters. "so for the love of god, hallie, please justβ" a hand rises, fingers locked together in a notion of desperation. "pick a place so i can figure this shit out."
