i think smthn people are missing about the whole “people laughing during obsession” is that obsession is a deeply uncomfortable movie and there are a good amount of scenes that i - and many others - laughed at. not because they were funny scenes but simply because that’s how my body responded to the sheer amount of visceral unease it was experiencing. granted a little nervous chuckle is not equal to someone genuinely laughing at nicki’s suffering but that is another thing. people just cannot handle nuance as far as i can tell.
