I shazamed this after our show at The Hamilton in D.C while packing up. I had already been listening to this record for the past couple of weeks. Sometimes, when i’ve only been listening to a record in headphones, it takes me a while to recognize it playing in other settings. This song and record are so fantastic. The genius of his song writing is so slight and delicate that it’s easy to miss. 

This was the night that SCOTUS made gay marriage legal all over the US. we happened to be playing across the street from the white house.

Now this is the type of shit that I like to shazam when i’ve been drinking. I think it makes me feel like i’m in a foreign country and not home.  it doesn’t really hold up very well upon second listen.

Shazam Diaries: 10:47 p.m. June 23, 2015

Sometimes, I shazam songs so that i can check them out later and figure out how they work. I don’t know that this is what I was doing with this. I do not like it upon second and third listen. This song has over 100,000,000 plays on YouTube.

Shazam Diaries: June 22-23, 2015 (night time)

I took an Adderall during the afternoon. Tried to go to Small’s Jazz Club that evening but it was at capacity so we went to some place down the street. Adderall wore off and I fell asleep in the club. Decided it was best to leave. I took these pictures on the way back to BK. I want to believe that I took these photos because I was trying to capture myself in the back window and not that I’m a creep.
