Tried another screenshot redraw. This way of drawing the hair was a lot better, especially for Haurchefant.

(Baroouse had some trouble with a dinner party and Haurchefant is helping calm him down.)

Ok, here's Madeline. (Most of these are cutscenes. Eventually I'll figure out the lighting properly.)

A quiet moment. Haurchefant x WoL. I have a bunch of screenshots of these guys and want to draw them all. This was referenced off of one of them.

(I had Haurchefant in the Vigil set in these screenshots, then decided after looking at the armor the Fortemps knights wear that instead of red their color would most likely be gold, and decided to go with that instead of blue. Also I was too impatient to make a real background. Someday I will do scenery/room paintings just to learn to enjoy it.)

Yet another OC created, because of course.

Name: Madeline Fortanceste (formerly Madeline de Verderonne) Race: Ishgardian Elezen; her ancestors were part of the Duskwight diaspora. Homeland: Ishgard Current residence: New Gridania Current classes/jobs: BRD, RDM, CRP

Madeline is a member of a long-standing Ishgardian family associated closely with House Dzmael, known for their woodwork. But after a bout of infighting with another house, her family was put into danger, and as much as she hated it, she was sent away to preserve her life and to try to clear her family's name of the accusation the other house used to disgrace them.

That's about all I've figured out.

Roegadyn players, tell me about your character's name!

What was your thought process behind it? Does it mean something important? Does it follow Sea Wolf/Hellsguard conventions or does it draw on other cultures? Is it the same as their birth name or has it changed? Can other people pronounce it? Do they go by any nicknames or shorten it for convenience?

His given name is Bloesthal Swygynahtynsyn, but he stopped going by that a long time ago, after his village basically rejected him for not following their religious practices. He'll answer to his patronymic, because he still loves his father and remembers him fondly. His mother named him after what he looked like as a baby (he was much bluer than he is now.)

When he left his village, the merchant he was traveling with would mispronounce his name a lot, and the Hellsguards who would sign on to help guard the caravan would pick it up and mock him with sillier and sillier nicknames. He never really got unhappy about it, and actually thought it was funny, although he also couldn't speak to correct him (this was after he lost his voice in a pirate attack.) Baroouse, for some reason, was the one that stuck.

He goes by Ironeye, both because he was born with gray eyes and because "ol' Ironeyes" was a nickname of the merchant he worked for (the merchant was a very stubborn Lalafell.)

When Baroouse was young, he was raised to worship the Navigator, told that if he said and did the right things that She would always guide him home. He had never been the most religious man, even before the attack that had taken his voice. But after everything he'd seen, after going to another Shard and coming back alive and learning what he'd learned about the Gods and about Hydaelyn Herself... he's started to doubt it. All of it. It'll be interesting to see what happens to his faith after the towers start rising.

What he does still have faith in, though, is the ability of people to survive and rebuild after hardship. Seeing Ishgard start to build itself up again after the war, and watching the people of Ala Mhigo rebuild their Saltery to try to restore their own prosperity.

(In the last picture he's trying to explain the whole thing to Yukiteru, who is wondering why this one stone at this one place is more valuable than the rest of the stones in the rest of the nation. He's attuned to air; he can't be expected to fully understand rocks.)

Dealing with fey is... difficult. If Baroouse hadn't already been under a contract with his Lily that marked him as a friend of the fairies of the Source, I doubt he would've done well.

Yukiteru: *spends a lot of time complaining that his master's other "student" (read: his months-old bullpup) won't listen to his wisdom so she can become a great auspice like him*

Baroouse: *shrugs*

Byrtswys the puppy, meanwhile, is sitting and staring intently at the nearby fishmonger in the hopes that he will drop a fish for her to "share."

I made a Fey Knight armor for Baroouse based on the lv. 69 dungeon spear. Still particularly fond of it.

FFXIV - Stars (SFW)

Title: Stars Characters: Named M!Sea Wolf!Warrior of Light Fandom: FFXIV Word Count: 1038 Prompt: @polyshipweek​ : Solo Polyamory. (I don’t have an idea for Day 3 that won’t end up turning into a novel, so I did a second prompt for Day 2 instead.) Summary: The view of the stars from the Steppe makes the warrior consider why he loves the stars so much. Vignette/Character study.
