Was lucky enough to witness this pretty gruesome sight a few days ago. This Sparrowhawk attended its prey for a good half an hour, allowing me to get this fairly perfectly timed shot.

A Stroll in Surrey.

Getting acquainted with my new home. I've just moved into the National Trust's AMAZING 'Speckled Wood' property, an eco-home for long term volunteers. Watch this excellent little video about it if you're interested. I'll probably be here for the next six months to a year, working in the South Downs and I couldn't be happier.

Our path takes a turn along a river, where wet woodland flourishes, and all the bark looks like this. It's always a beautiful experience entering a woodland microclimate on a boiling hot day.
