Charcoal.
Wood Anemone Anemone nemorosa
Flowers are here. Photographs are going to start again. Excitement.
Was lucky enough to witness this pretty gruesome sight a few days ago. This Sparrowhawk attended its prey for a good half an hour, allowing me to get this fairly perfectly timed shot.
You'll feel better when you're warm.
Frosty mornings here are too beautiful.
Butterflies
First ever reblog. These are so so nice.
This time of year.
A Stroll in Surrey.
Getting acquainted with my new home. I've just moved into the National Trust's AMAZING 'Speckled Wood' property, an eco-home for long term volunteers. Watch this excellent little video about it if you're interested. I'll probably be here for the next six months to a year, working in the South Downs and I couldn't be happier.
We were lucky enough to be able to set down on the beach and spend an hour or so watching a pod of Grey Seals (Halichoerus grypus) hunting for food just off the shore.
The Wicca Walk - Pt. 4.
Finally we reached our destination, the shoreline.
The Wicca Walk - Pt. 3
Our path takes a turn along a river, where wet woodland flourishes, and all the bark looks like this. It's always a beautiful experience entering a woodland microclimate on a boiling hot day.
The Wicca Butterflies.
It's too easy to overlook the beauty of common species. Speckled Wood (Pararge aegeria).
