This is where Wander meets Sabre and a Blue Steve who's helping Sabre learn more about the World Beyond. Wander ends up falling in love with this blue steve (ewww gay) called Bluebell. Tho, he ends up being too scared to tell Bluebell. One day in which Bluebell and Wander are in the Rainbow King for their own and the other Steve's safety, Bluebell ends up passing away in an attack from Void and Wander ends up getting infected by the Darkness. Wander's sanity, in his grief and guilt for Bluebell's death and anger at Void for said death, starts draining rapidly. In this insanity he ends up researching any way to destroy Void, not caring about any possible consequences. This ends up leading him to the story of the hero, and drives him to want to become this hero. In this insanity driven want he ends up absorbing other steve's, which causes to become less and less himself which feeds into his insanity, aswell as the small patch of darkness feeding his drive. In the end, absorbing these steve's causes him to slowly fade out of his own conciousness, causing him to become a whole other being which eventually collapses under it's slow growing lack of steve-ness (idk the word ok...) ⭑ personality; - pre-incident; kind but reclusive. suprisingly adventurous despite that, tho. - post-incident; slow to no mental humanity & aggresive. ☆ credits: divider - @corbingraphics pfp art - @cherryxfanta (TWIN!) banner art - @keeper-of-time-rq (me lelele) ☆ tags:

A figure suddenly falls from the sky a few feet away from Wander with a thud, an Omph! leaving the figure's mouth.

Upon closer inspection, the figure appeared to be an Orange Steve.. wait no... Green? A half-and-half Steve wearing a white shirt, green overalls, and a long blue scarf that's now partially wrapped around their head due to the fall.

“ Hhhghhhmhf.. ”

Wander blinked a couple times, then went over to check out what happend. " Hello? " The Indigo said, hovering over the half orange-half green steve with a tilted head

The Steve lifted up their head upon hearing Wander's voice, the scarf still draped over their face.

“ W-Wait.. where am I?? ”

They finally processed what had just happened, scrambling to pull themselves up, not really making any progress when they can't see.

" In the Middle world. " Wander said, carefully pulling the scarf down from the other Steve's face. " Now, I would like to know who you are, as you kind of busted into my home, and you don't look dead... "

He tilted his head again, softly nudging the Steve with his shoe

“ The- huh.? Oh-! Thank you. ”

They quickly shake their head to sweep the hair covering their eyes, getting a chance to finally look at their surroundings.

“ I uh... what do you mean I don't look dead-? Sorry.. my head still hurts a little- ”

" Non.. Indigo Steve's usually only come to the Middle world to be guided to be guided to the World Beyond. "

He explained, looking at the other Steve. " But as I said, you don't look dead... and you look... weird too, " Wander said, studying the other closely. " I don't see none one colored Steve's often... let alone a Steve that's half and half... "

“ I think I've about those things before.. but only in rumors.. So it's true that that's what Indigo Steves do? ”

They seem fascinated.

“ But uh- I don't really know why I'm here-? And that latter question.. is kind of a heavy subject- ”

They don't really seem to want to think about that too much.

" I haven't even introduced myself, how rude of me... i'm Wander and i'm, as you can probably tell, an Indigo Steve "

Wander stated. He was still studying the other, odd Steve.

He spoke, fixing his monocle.

They giggle.

“ For my name.. I guess you can call me Carrot! It's what I've been commonly known as. A little silly, I knoww. ”

He smiled at them.

They gave a smile back as their face plops back to the ground afterwards.

Carrot pulls themselves up from the ground, giving their overalls and scarf a little pat.

“ Huh? Why's that? ”

" Well I was about to leave before you kind of... busted through my roof.... "

He looked up

" ...I need to get that fixed. I'll have to call an Orange Steve for that one. "

They looked up, almost loosing their footing from what seemed to be the aftermath of their fall.

“ Wh- WOAH-! My Curse- I didn't know that even happened-! I'm so so sorry about that- If there's anything I can do to help please let me know-! ” Panik boyo

" do not worry, getting ahold of a Orange Steve is not too hard. It's easier to get in contact with them then my own kind, funny enough."

He reassured the other steve, reasessing the damages to his poor roof.

“ O-Oh? Well that's a relieve I guess.. Do you Indigo Steves not live close by each other or something.? Cause I know the other Chromatic Steves reside in villages and kingdoms and such. ”

They glance away at the open roof.

" We... are pretty reclusive as a kind, I dont see many people unless they passed away. " He said, rubbing the back of his neck

“ So uh- what about me? I mean.. I don't think I'd be welcomed here for long- I still need to find a way to get out of this realm place thingy. ”

They tilt their head.

" They can be rather wary because of everything going on around here.. and, since you're not like.. a regular Steve they could be less trusting, they've been on full lockdown multiple times now... " He answered awkwardly.
