@wanderer-above-the-clouds
i had the deep fortune to see SIX on stage recently and this musical truly is just like “do you want to see half a dozen of the most beautiful women in the universe go absolutely ham?” and the answer was yes. yes i did
(the designs i used are strongly inspired by the Broadway cast, with London and Australian cast influences as well ;v;)
[images are digital drawings of the queens from Six the musical in ornate golden picture frames; rather than containing them, each of their poses brings them beyond the edges of the frames. Catherine of Aragon is smiling and waving with a regal air; Anne Bolelyn is taking an ostentatious selfie with a peace sign; Jane Seymour is smiling and leaning on the edge of the frame with her arms crossed; Anna of Cleves is lounging with a smirk, a goblet held high in one hand, and one leg kicked out of the frame; Katherine Howard is leaning on the frame with a grin and twirling a strand of hair, looking playful; and Catherine Parr is holding one fist up in her signature pose, smiling with dignity and triumph.]
just finished A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske and oh??my god? it’s terrific super much recommended
to summarize in Stefon voice: this book has it all—a cursed tattoo—a weekend house party with parlor games and simmering resentments—murder—a HEDGE MAZE—a romance both hot and sweet—library classification systems—magical bureaucracy—Edwardian shirt collars—an unexpected inheritance—William Morris wallpaper
“‘Control’ was a word that hung on Edwin like a half-fitted suit. In some places it clung to him; in others it gaped, in a way that made Robin want to hook his fingers into the loose seams and tug.”
— A Marvellous Light, Freya Marske
“You look like a Turner painting and I want to learn your textures with my fingertips. You are the most fascinating thing in this beautiful house. I’d like to introduce my fists to whoever taught you to stop talking about things that interest you.”
— A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske
Edwin stood near the centre of the library floor, shirtsleeves rolled to mid-forearm, one hand turning the page of a thick book splayed open on a table while the other scratched at the back of his neck. Looking at him, Robin realised that before this moment he’d never seen Edwin Courcey look even the slightest bit comfortable.

I think this was Robin’s ‘oh…oh no’ moment.
Bridgerton, but make it fantasy.

imagine camila from the secret history listening to taylor swift's folklore thinking of her youth enjoying herself in a cabin in the woods while sipping a hot tea and letting the tears flow
