if you die that is what they want. the greatest act of defiance is to live a life they would hate, which means a long and happy one. survive. you have to live.

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH HONEYS!👩🏾❤️💋👩🏾🏳️🌈✨
in happier pride news i actually found this deeply heartwarming
that's solidarity baybeeee
Further context: Durham city council (Reform UK) cut funding and support for Pride. The Durham Miner's Association and other trade unions raised enough money for Durham Pride 2026 to go ahead - a direct call back to when Lesbian and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM) raised money for mining communities when Margaret Thatcher seized union funding during the miner strikes of 1984-85.
At the 1985 Labour party meet, the motion to support LGBT rights as a party was passed due to a block vote from mining unions.
Stephen Guy, the chair of the Durham Miners’ Association, said that when it became apparent Durham Pride was under threat, he took it upon himself to “encourage the trade union movement to step up and do the right thing, and stand shoulder to shoulder with the LGBT+ community […] They not only raised funds for us, but came to our communities, uplifted our spirits when they were down, and showed their solidarity.”
My understanding is that the cut funding from Durham council was £2,500 - the trade union donations raised in response were worth £25,000

“Remus is getting dicked down tonight, eh, Sirius? Or is it the other way round?”
“How’s that old bed of yours holding up, Sirius? Ayyyyyy.”
“Oooh, look at those two. I guess that’s our cue to leave boys, heh heh heh.”
“What do you think?” Remus raised his eyebrows as echoes of tipsy flatmates faded out of earshot, turning to Sirius sarcastically.
“I’m so fucking sick of it,” Sirius muttered, throwing a sponge into the sink and turning to lean moodily against it. “I’m fucking sick of the assumptions and the jokes. It’s rude, and presumptive, and I’m sick of it.”
Remus sighed. “They mean well. They’re trying to be inclusive. They just… don’t get it. Can’t understand.”
“I don’t care, I hate it, I hate it. Our sex lives or lack thereof aren’t their business and I’m fucking done.”
“Come here, darling.” Remus opened his long arms and tucked Sirius up against his side.
“…done.” Sirius mumbled into Remus’s jumper.
Remus sighed. “Yeah. Me too.”
there will never be anything as funny as the mutual disbelief between long form and short form fic writers about each other's style.
short form writers look at people writing 100k+ fics as though this is some sort of talent given as part of a fae bargain, that the commitment required shows some sort of ungodly mental fortitude.
meanwhile long form writers look at people writing 1000 word one shots like god I would cut off my left nipple to be able to say anything concisely. i would love to play with multiple ideas. free me from the shackles of this child I have birthed. i love them but I now must take them to t-ball and doctor's appointments and they're going to destroy everything I own.

Really enjoying the scritches
Male loneliness this, male loneliness that. Have they tried lobotomies? Tranquilizers? Being fingered by medical professionals? Tearing the yellow wallpaper off the walls of the attic room where your husband keeps you locked up?
Curious what is actually normal for bed time. Go for your normal/average time, not your most extreme or what you wish it was.
what time do you go to bed? (local time)
7pm or before
8pm
9pm
10pm
11pm
12am
1am
2am or after
it's never consistent
some other time entirely
I just don't know what grownups do for bedtime and I want to know!!!
i'm sure this has been pointed out many times but i can't resist doing it again...
this is gilbert baker's pride flag ^^ which debuted in 1978, six weeks before tmp started filming. which could mean nothing :)

HAPPY PRIDE! 🌈
Interview with the Vampire (2022 —)
do not forget the patron saint of these weeks that we celebrate ourselves proudly and openly in the streets
her name was Marsha P Johnson, and we have her to thank for so much.
remember, the first Pride was a riot, and she was one of the brave souls who endured it to help carve the path which so many of us walk today. she helped found several activist groups regarding LGBT safety and wellbeing. and she was absolutely radiant, too.
thank you, Marsha. we remember you.
