It had been a long time since Alyssa had had any sweets. She rarely had any money to ‘waste’ on such an unimportant thing. She was usually relegated to instant meals, or various forms of jerky, just to fill her stomach.
Today was different, however. To the shock of well, everyone, she had won a few battles. Mostly because the people around here seemed to use a lot of Normal-type Pokemon, which her Banette was very powerful against.
She took out the little spare money that was left, after resupplying essentials, holding it tightly in her hand as she entered the candy shop. Even though she was not a child anymore, she literally felt like a kid in a candy store. Her eyes glowed at all the candy lining the shelves, but then she looked at the price, and her soul emptied from her body, figuratively speaking.
She walked up and down the aisles, looking for something, anything, she could afford. It was then she saw it. A gigantic Lollipop, in the shape of a Magikarp, and she was able to afford it too! She immediately grabbed it and went to the counter to pay for it.
She began leaving the store, and she admittedly was a bit distracted by the gigantic lolipop in her hands. She pulled off the cover-paper, and pulled it towards her mouth to take a lick, but then everything went to hell.
“WHAM!” Suddenly the lollipop was pushed into her face, hard, shattering on impact, (though to be fair it was more the force of the door than her face being hard) and soon after, the door of the store smashed her in the face as well. It seemed that recently, inamate objects loved her face. First a tree branch, now a door. The force of the hit sent her tumbling to the ground. She saw stars for a few moments, but was able to shake them off.
She looked up, seeing the pink-haired girl. Alyssa had tears in her eyes, more from the fact that her treasured lollipop was shattered, than the pain.
“You don’t have to call anyone, miss. I’ll be okay.” Her voice was still quivering a bit. “B-but my lollipop....And here I thought it was my lucky day, finally having enough money for something that wasn’t an instant meal.” She stared at the shattered pieces of the lollipop on the ground.
“I-if you want to, I would appreciate it miss. I was at fault too, though, distracted by the now deceased piece of candy.” She forced a smile, despite wanting to cry right now.
