We all live in bubbles, we spend our lives living somewhere with people who have the same income, who tend to look like us, think like us. At work, we spend our time we people similar to us. Online we create little groups and we surround ourselves with people who believe the same thing as we do.
These bubble are nice right? They are comfortable, make you feel safe, isolating you from the rest of the world. From the reality of a world that exist but is not acknowledged.
When you live in a bubble surrounded by a world that looks the same in all directions you become oblivious of what happens outside that bubble. You get used to the same conformity, the same story, and you turn all your attention within the walls of your bubble.
Bubbles are comfort zones, when you spend all of your time in that space, in that comfort zone you restrict your ability to grow and innovate, but also you restrict your ability to understand others that may not be like you. You become dissociated with a reality that is there but you cannot see because your eyes are just so caught up with your bubble.
Have you ever thought what happens outside your bubble? Do you even know whoβs outside your bubble? Do you take time to understand those who are not in your bubble? It is easy, everyday we wake up, we go to work, we go back to our homes, but whatβs out there?
You know bubbles donβt last forever, but yet we tend to only focus on making sure we have that comfort, that sameness. It isnβt enough to sit in your bubble and think.. the world is great, everything is fine.. because guess what, in reality it isnβt.
We need better for our world, we need to see and think outside our bubbles, we need to look beyond what is under our noses. Reality exist even within our bubbles. As society we need to progress, we need to be aware. We stopped coming together leaving a society more divided. We need to look out and reach out, drive to a different neighbourhood, take time to give smiles, to listen to that cashier whoβs tired but continue to serve us, to give a helping hand to that homeless man that sits in the corner, no matter what day it is, listen to his story. Take time to understand that youth who has been through hell and back and had to make some tough decisions in his life to survive. Empathise with that tired mother in the playground with a child screaming and crying because her baby feels discomfort. Take time to foster friendship who had a different upbringing than you.
Start changing the world for the better!
