Jake "Hangman" Seresin x Reader
Synopsis: Reader works at the Hard Deck and is married to a mister Seresin. She likes keeping their relationship under wraps, only a certain few people knowing. Jake talks her into meeting the rest of the squad.
warning: swear words. about it.
its my first time writing for the bunch, so let me know how I did! I want to do more for Hangman and even some for Rooster in the coming future.
----
"Wife." Y/N turned her head, lifting her eyes from the glasses she was currently wiping down. Her movements faltered, seeing Jake leaning against the bar, forearms resting on the countertop with that trademark smirk of his on his face.
"Husband." She tilted her face back towards the cup, putting it down and reaching for another. Her eyes moved back to his, unable to stop the weak feeling she got in her knees from seeing his face. The confident look on his face, his smile, the twinkle in his eyes as he stared at her. A man smitten.
"If it isn't lover boy." Both Jake and Y/N turned their attention to Penny. She held a knowing smirk on her face, one that was tossed back over her shoulder as she refilled Maverick's glass.
"You have him smitten." Mav pointed at the two, a teasing smile on his face as Jake rolled his eyes, turning his attention from the three of them and back to the rest of the Daggers. They had pretended to keep themselves busy with a game of pool, but he had known better. They were watching and waiting, to see what Jake would do and what the outcome of why he came over here would be.
Y/N turned her attention from the older couple, and back to Jake, who once again had his perfect brown eyes on her. A knowing smile settled on her face, an eyebrow raised.
"Talk about me at work?"
"Just to Mav. He caught me staring at a photo of you that I keep in my flight vest." He shrugged, tapping his fingers against the counter. "He pestered me until I said something. But I'm sure he knew about you before that." Jake looked pointedly at Penny, who pretended to look guilty as she filled drinks for more customers.
"May or may not have." She spoke. Y/N only rolled her eyes before she turned back to Jake, who was still staring at her as if she hung the stars in the sky and pulled the sun and moon into position each night,
"Hey." He spoke softly. A sound so soft and quiet that she could barely hear him over the chatter and music filling the bar.
"Hey." Her voice came back just as soft. "What are you doing over here? Need a drink for you and the squad?" Y/N asked, already moving to grab some glasses.
"I still have a full glass over at the table sweetheart. I'm over here before the squad, particularly because the Chicken and Baby on Board saw me looking at you." A soft hum escaped her lips.
"Rooster, I understand. But Bob?" Jake talked about the squad enough that she was still able to learn decent amount of the group. Their ups and downs, their ticks, personality, the rivalry between Rooster and Jake that seemed a little bit more laxed after Jake saved him and Maverick in their most recent mission.
Jake nodded, letting out a huff of a laugh.
"Exactly!"
"Damn. You are smitten." She teased him. "Bob is slow on the draw sometimes. But if he noticed." A low whistle filled his ears.
"When I got you to look at doll, I can't help it." To provide emphasis, his eyes rolled over her body, stopping for a long minute on the slight bump of her stomach, his expression proud and adoring. The twinkle was present in his eyes again, a hum of appreciation for her filling his throat as he took in the sight before him.
"Hey casa nova." His eyes moved back to her face, a smirk present as he flashed her a cheeky smile. Shrugging, he leaned further against the counter.
"Yes, doll?" he asked, his eyelashes fluttering innocently.
"They're watching us." Jake turned around, not so subtly, in a way that had Y/N mentally slapping her forehead. The couple watched as his squad scrambled to get to their game of pool, making it seem as if they weren't paying any mind to the two. "Made a bet with me to get to your number."
"Can't have it. Already taken." A small smile pulled at her lips.
"Damn. He must be one lucky guy." He teased, playing along, turning to look back at her.
"No." She shook her head. "She's the lucky one." His smile grew to match hers as the two stared in silence at each other for several moments.
Y/N watched as his fingers tapped against the bar, knowing the cogs were turning in his head as he glanced back briefly again to watch his friends. When he finally turned back around, she was waiting. She knew that he had something that he wanted to ask.
"Lay it on me."
"Meet them."
"Jake-"
"Sweetheart." He cut her off, hands on the edge of the counter as he peered across the counter at her. Jake took in her expression, knowing that they have had this conversation one too many times and he always knew where it ended up. "We've been together for almost as long as I've known them, and you still haven't met them." he reasoned gently. Y/N knew he was right. He knew all of her friends, but she had yet to spend the time to meet his.
"I like the idea of it being just us." She said quietly, the wedding band hanging around her neck suddenly cold against her warm skin.
"It won't just be us soon." his fingers motioned subtly to her stomach and the slowly growing bump. "And I want them to know both you and the little bun in the oven." She grimaced.
"Why call the baby that?" Y/N asked, a giggle escaping her lips.
"First thing that popped in my head." Jake shrugged, his attention solely on her. Not even when another slightly buzzed patron bumped into him. His attention never wavered, even as said patron apologized before they ambled away. "I want them to meet you before the baby comes. And then I want them to meet the baby. I want them to know what has me all happy and giddy even as a long day of physical and mental activity awaits us." Y/N bit her lip, eyes moving across his face, taking in the tiny blemishes that dotted his skin. The way his brow furrowed slightly as he waited for a response, eyes slightly hopeful that maybe her hesitance was a way of telling him that she was thinking about it, and she was. Y/N knew that at the very least, she had owed him this.
"I'll think about it." She spoke, her hands settling on the counter not too far from his own. It was a yes, and she told herself so, she just wanted to keep Jake on his toes.
"Thank you, sweetheart." Jake's voice was filled with hope as his fingers moved to softly brush against her own. He seemed hesitant himself to move from his spot, but eventually pulled away, moving to go back to his squad mates. Y/N watched him go, knowing that the squad was watching her. They spoke a few words to Jake, pointing not so subtly at her, and she watched as he turned around, catching her staring. He winked at her, and she gave a sheepish grin, her cheeks growing hot as she turned around to see Penny and Mav looking at her.
"Going to finally meet them?" Penny asked. Y/N nodded.
"Don't worry. They're a good bunch." And despite all that she has heard, with rivalries and competition amongst the group, she knew that Maverick was telling the truth.
----
Pheonix was the first to notice Y/N advancing towards them. Her elbow bumped into Coyote's ribs, motioning to her as Y/N's expression focused on Jake. Rooster, who was waiting patiently for Jake to take his next shot, glanced briefly over at Pheonix and Coyote, who had their attention focused on the other end of the pool table. His eyes followed, lips attaching to his pint of lager, homing in on the woman from the bar, the very same one they all made a bet with Jake too get her number. He seen her and choked, the lager going down the wrong side and he slammed the pint down, startling Jake and causing him to screw up his shot.
"Fuck. Seriously?" Jake threw a hand up, his pool stick resting against him as he turned to Rooster. When he realized that everyone was focused on something else, he moved his gaze to follow, lighting up almost instantly when he saw his wife standing and staring at him from the other side of the pool table. His smile grew across his face as he leaned his pool stick against the table, before walking around towards her.
Their eyes followed each other, knowing that the Dagger Squad were indeed watching them both intently.
"Hey."
"Hey." They spoke softly, almost falling into a fit of giggles as Jake pulled her into him, arms wrapping around her waist, hands settling on the small of her back as his lips found hers. The kiss was soft and gentle, everything the two felt crumbling into the kiss. A chair fell over behind Jake and a collective "holy shit" could be heard, while a "What the fuck." could be heard from Rooster.
Y/N laughed against his lips as Jake covered her body from prying eyes, his lips moving to her cheek, down her jaw, and pressing against the shell of her ear.
"Ready to meet them?" He asked, pulling away from her slightly, giving her one last chance to change her mind.
"I should have met them a while ago." She responded with a soft smile, earning several chaste kisses from Jake, laughing in response before he moved to stand next to her, arms moving to pull her against his chest, allowing her to lean back comfortably.
Everyone was staring at them expectantly.
"Dagger Squad. Meet my wife. Wife, meet Dagger Squad."
"What the fuck!" Rooster exclaimed. "Bagman, you have a wife? Where's the rings?" He motioned to their ring fingers, and the lack of said accessory.
"Going on how long doll?" Jake asked, tilting his head slightly to see her face, his hands grasping the chain around his neck, pulling it up and out from his uniform, revealing his wedding ring, his eyes moving as he watched Y/N follow his same movements.
"8 years?" She looked deep in thought. "No,nine." she confirmed, her hands rubbing his own settled on her growing stomach. The group broke into hysterics, mostly amongst themselves, trying to figure out who all could have known or why they never caught on to it.
"Rowdy bunch they are." She said quietly, watching them all. Jake let out a hum and Y/N felt his chest rumble against her back.
"But they are a good one. How was work?"
"It was great. I got to look at this handsome guy all night."
"Should I be worried?" Jake asked, a grin on his face.
"Nah, he's married. He thinks he is the lucky one, but honestly, she is." Y/N said, hinting at their earlier conversation. Jake laughed, burying his face into her neck as his chest rumbled with laughter.
"Wait! Is she fucking pregnant!" Rooster could be heard again.
"I thought he wasn't the observant one?" she asked, a large grin on her face as she continued to watch the group. Jake could only smile as he pressed his lips to her temple, before he focused his attention back on Dagger Squad.
"Rooster. Phoenix." The two turned their attention to the couple.
"How do you feel about being god parents?" he asked.
"Rooster don't cry."
"I'm not!"

Jake "Hangman" Seresin x Reader
You and Jake are on a road trip to visit his sister and you have the most important job, passenger princess.
Warnings! A little suggestive, allusions to smut but no smut, fluffy and domestic
Requested by @closetspngirl
You leaned your head against the window, watching the scenery go by in a blur. Jake had insisted that instead of flying to see his sister in New Mexico, the two of you should drive the 700 miles instead.
The thought of a 12 hour drive hadn't been appealing at first but Jake knew how to convince you. Sitting in his truck in the Hard Deck parking lot he had pulled you into his lap, kissing you senseless before lavishing your neck with attention, bruising the delicate skin while your noises filled the cab. Knowing you were putty in his hands, that's when Jake asked,
"Don't you want to be my passenger princess, darlin'?" When you finally gave in, he made sure you had nothing but good memories of the passenger seat (and the backseat just to be safe).
Now you were curled into yourself in the passenger seat with one of Jake's larger hands resting on your thigh, fighting off a yawn and failing.
"Take a nap, darlin',"
"M'not tired." You spotted a sign for one of the nicer gas stations, "Get off here, baby. I just need some sugar."
"I can give you some sugar," Jake dropped his voice making you giggle.
"Shut up," He laughed as you batted his hand off your thigh for wandering too far and took the exit as requested.
Jake guided you into the gas station, his hand in your back pocket. He kept himself pressed against your back, making sure no one even thought about coming near you and even though it was a tad over protective, you loved it. Jake was always like this in new places, not trusting strangers anywhere near you.
"What does my girl want for her snack, hmm?" He kissed your neck as you debated your options.
"I'm between the gummy bears and the M&Ms." Jake grabbed both and guided you towards the drinks,
"Is there a reason you're rushing me, Lieutenant?" He squeezed your ass,
"Just want to get back on the road and to our hotel room."
"We'd be there by now if we had flown," You laughed, grabbing two waters and a soda from the coolers. "But no, someone just haaaaaad to drive." Jake shook his head at you, stealing a chaste kiss that left you wanting more as he paid and pulled you back to the truck.
Despite the candy and caffeine, you fell asleep not long later with Jake's hand holding yours, his thumb smoothing over your knuckles. When you woke up a few hours later you blindly reached for your gummy bears, only to find the pack empty.
"Jacob!"
Gimme! The passenger princess role next to Jake is all mine.
Even if he eats all the gummy bears?
He can have the gummy bears and then some.

Tyler Owens x Reader
Based On a thought I had
Warnings: I don't think there is any? Maybe a swear word or two? I forgot. Will be a second part to this.
I think I edited it all the way....I think. There is a person or two I need to tag in this, but for some odd reason my phone isn't letting me, so they will be tagged in the comments. Will try to figure it out for future posts.
Y/N was laying on the shared bed in their motel room, the tv playing in the background, a book in her lap as she rested against the headboard. Night had fallen by now and she had expected Tyler to be back from his errands, laying in bed with her as she read her book, legs tangled together and him attempting his nightly ritual of distracting her from said book. It usually almost always worked though, so he didn’t have to try too hard in order to be successful. If there was one thing that Y/N was extra soft for, it was him and his puppy dog demeanor hidden by a large amount of confidence and charisma, not that they weren’t a good look on him, because they were. She had just preferred the Tyler Owens that he turned into behind four walls and a closed door.
“Darlin’.” She snapped out of her thoughts, head snapping up to look at Tyler, who was standing at the entrance of their motel room. A small smile graced his lips as he looked at her, his eyes and expression soft. He had a boyish grin on his face, feet shuffling in what Y/N could only imagine to be excitement, waiting for her to acknowledge him.
His eyes shifted down to her book, in which she followed his gaze, her hands already moving to find her book mark, eyes tearing away from him. She marked her page, the book mark, which just happened to be an old gas station receipt, peeked out over the top, and left the book forgotten on the side table next to the bed.
“What is it, Ty?” She asked. Y/N couldn’t help it when her feet carried her over to him, as he stepped over the threshold of the doorway, meeting her half way, the door still open and letting in the cool night air. His hands found her waist, then slipping around to her back, pulling her against him, lips capturing her own into a slow and sensual kiss. Eyes closed, her arms looping around his neck, while his hands moved from her back to her waist, squeezing gently before they moved to her back again, deft fingers slipping underneath her, his, shirt.
“Got a surprise downstairs.” He mumbled against her lips, forehead moving to rest against hers, fingers drawing small shapes into the small of her back, pressing a few more chaste kisses to her lips before he pulled back slightly.
“What kind of surprise?” she asked, fingers playing with the hairs on the nape of his neck. Tyler clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth, shaking his head slightly.
“Have to come downstairs with me sweetheart.”
“I’m barely clothed!” She exclaimed. The look in Tyler’s eyes and the smirk on his face told her that he didn’t seem to mind.
“Not seeing the issue with that one, but you have a shirt and some shorts on. That will do.” His fingers moved down to tap her butt.
“But I’m still not as equally dressed as you are.” Tyler let his hands fall from her body, and now she missed it, but watched as he took her in, tilting his head in thought. He was enjoying the view, she could see it clearly in his expression. His eyes snapped up to her, a genuine smile on his face and a shining glint in his eyes. It looked a lot like a look of adoration.
“Don’t matter to me darlin’. You look gorgeous as always. Now come on, while the night is still young.” He said, beckoning her to follow him, giving her a dopey and love sick smile. Y/N couldn’t help it, matching the look on his face as she reached out for his now extended hand, her soft hands clasping with his calloused one, allowing him to tug her outside the warmth of the motel room and into the cool night air.
As Tyler pulled her along, almost as if he was a child tugging it’s parent along in a toy or candy store, he couldn’t help but look back at her a few times. Whether he was making sure she was still following, despite her hand being in his own, or if he just wanted to look at her, Y/N couldn’t tell, but she knew that she didn’t mind it. She couldn’t help but look at him as if he hung the stars for her, giving her everything that she could ever possibly want in life.
Y/N bit her lip as she looked at him, weaving through the cars in the parking lot, letting him tug her towards the red truck they rode into the most brutal of storms. It was there that she saw the surprise. The truck was positioned away from everyone else, across the parking lot and a slight way into the field of weeds, tea lights lining the side of the truck and the down tailgate. Tyler slowed down, watching her with a smile on his face as he allowed her to take in the sight. Pillows and blankets were settled in the bed of the truck, a box of pizza sitting on the tailgate, ready to be eaten. She tugged her hand away from his, moving closer to the scene.
“It’s been a minute since we had time to ourselves.” Tyler’s voice spoke from behind her, providing a sense of comfort. Y/N turned to look at him, finding him with his hands in his pockets, that same look of adoration back on his face.
“You came up with this all by yourself?” she asked, an eyebrow raised in amusement as she looked at her boyfriend. A look of feigned hurt came across his face and she couldn’t help but to giggle.
“Is that so hard to believe?” he asked, taking a few slow steps towards her.
“Dani or Lilly didn’t give you any ideas? You didn’t need to be hyped up by Boone or Dexter?” She asked, a teasing lilt to her voice as Tyler took a few more steps towards her. “Please tell me Ben isn’t going to pop out of the weeds and start taking photos.” Tyler let out a small laugh, the twinkle still in his eyes.
“No.” He said, a smile on his face as he shook his head. “Its just us darlin’.” He finally stood in front of her, hands settling back on her waist, lifting her up and setting her on the tailgate. Stepping forward to stand between her legs, his hands settled on her cheeks, pulling her in for another slow kiss. The two took their time in the moment, hands on the other's body, movements slow and sensual as they appreciated the moment. Tyler pulled her closer to him, hands on her hips while her own settled on his face, scratching at the stubble on his face, tongues fighting for dominance.
Y/N was the first to pull away, her breathing heavy as Tyler started to trail kisses along her jaw and down her neck, his breath fanning across her skin, causing her to shiver. A soft sigh of content escaped her lips, before pulling into a pout as he pulled away from her.
“I have a whole night planned sugar. The best Is always saved for last.” Tyler winked at her, before he climbed into the bed of the truck with her. He grabbed two beers from a small cooler that Y/N hadn't seen until now. As he sat down, his legs spread, motioning for Y/N to sit between them and as she did so, Tyler moved the blanket over her legs, before she settled the box of pizza on her covered lap.
The pizza box was flipped open And the two bottles had their caps popped off.
Y/N settled against Tyler's chest, finally taking in the scenery around them as one of his hands moved around her body to snag a piece of pizza.
“get anything on me and I'll beat you.” She teasingly threatened, her eyes moving to the cute little tea lights, softly illuminating the truck and them with it.
“Yes ma'am. Understood.” He snickered slightly, voice muffled by the food in his mouth.
“Why the tea lights? Why not actual candles?” She asked. Tyler's chest vibrated against her back as his other hand came up and settled on her waist, drawing lazy shapes with his fingers.
“Money and distance. Closest grocery store for candles was an hour away. There was a dollar store like 15 minutes away. grabbed them there. Don't like them?” He asked, the potential for slight hesitancy in his voice as he brought his beer bottle to his mouth and took a drink.
“No, I love them. It doesn't take away from the moment, I was just curious.”
“Good.” His lips pressed to her temple and his hand gave her waist a squeeze. “Also a safer bet if things go a bit south, if you know what I mean.” Tyler spoke in a low timber. She slapped his thigh, earning a laugh from him.
“We are in the wide open Tyler. Anyone could see.”
“Jus' sayin’ sugar.”
As time passed, Y/N had her eyes trained on the stars, watching them with intent as Tyler watched her. His eyes were focused solely on her, especially as he finished eating. Watching the side of her face as her lips lifted into small smiles, the way her eyelashes fluttered, the imperfections on her face, everything. Everything about her was beautiful, amazing. Gorgeous and astounding. It didn't matter that she was in one of his white shirts and a pair of short gym shorts. In his eyes, she was perfect, a beautiful comparison to the mightiest of tornadoes, gorgeous and elegant in movement, but in her own small ways, just as destructive. She was a heart stopper.
And suddenly the black box hidden behind him, felt like a heavy presence, making itself known, begging to pushed into her hands and that all too infamous question to be asked.
“What are your thoughts about the future?” He asked, the pizza half finished and now forgotten, bottles of beer half drunk as the two continued to rest against each other, basking in the moment of the peace and quiet they were experiencing.
“Like us? Or in general?” She moved her head slightly so that she could see his face. His face moved to look at her, his facial expression telling her that he had been heavy in his thoughts.
“Us. In general. Where do you see us. Kids? Marriage? What kind of house do you imagine us in? Will there be dogs? Other pets? Anything.” He almost wanted to ask where she would see herself if something happened to their relationship, but he couldn't bear The thought. It would never happen. They were happy enough as they were that it would never be a concern.
Y/N tilted her head in thought, letting him lace the fingers of his left hand with her own.
“I would like kids. Yea. But before that is to happen, I'd prefer to be married.” She said, head tipping again to look at him. Tyler knew that black box was still hiding behind him. “We would make cute kids.” We. Tyler melted at the thought, wanting nothing more to have kids with her. The way she said ‘we’, felt serene, as if maybe for him it was almost too good to be true. “So you are expecting marriage in the future?” He struggled to keep his voice calm.
“Oh, absolutely.” She stated. His heart leapt to his mouth, wanting to spill everything his heart had to offer to her. Tyler felt relief blossom in his chest. She sounded so sure. Y/N was hoping for a marriage with him.
“Go on Sugar.” He brought their clasped hands to his lips, pressing a few chaste kisses to her knuckles.
“We would have the wedding at your parents ranch. The scenery is so beautiful. Oh!” Y/N exclaimed suddenly, catching Tyler by surprise as she twisted around in his lap, legs resting on either side of his waist. He looked up at her, the softest of looks on his face as his hands came down to her thighs, rubbing soothing motions into them, before moving to rest on her lower back. “
“That ranch we've always talked about getting. If we find one, then we can have the wedding there? It would have so much more meaning. The kids could grow up there. Have some livestock animals. Some cows, horses. A pig or two. Chickens.” Tyler let his head rest against the back of the truck, a look of complete and utter adoration and love written across his face. He was drowning in it, and was going to bring her down with him. His hands rubbed gently on her lower back, just listening to her ramble, taking in every word as she said it. He listened as she talked about potential baby names. Names for dogs if they ever got one. Or two. Or three. Tyler listened as she planned the rest of their lives together, and he didn't have an issue with it.
“And then obviously There's you.” His brow arched and she couldn't help but snicker.
Obviously? Well I obviously hope so.” His fingers slipped underneath his shirt, trailing across her skin. Y/N stared at him now with the same amount of love that was currently shining within his own eye.
“Marry me.” Y/N stopped, her smile faltered slightly, her eyes widening in surprise.
What?”
“Will you marry me? Be my wife. Let me call you my wife.” He said, the words my wife already creating butterflies in his stomach that he couldn't help.
“Are you serious?”
“What?” He asked confused.
“You ask me when I look like this?” Her hair was a slight mess and she was only in pajamas, but Tyler didn't care. He would never care.
“Sweetheart, I would have asked you if you covered head to toe In mud.” He said, genuinely honest.
Tyler reached behind his back, her eyes moving down to watch the action as he pulled out the black box, flipped it open and revealed the ring. The rose gold band held a soft glow, cast from the various tea lights littered around them. A single diamond sat on top, something simple and calm, and it was all Y/N needed. She didn't need nor want an over complex ring eith too many diamonds, as long as she was happy with who gave it to her.
Y/N went silent, eyes on the ring and tears welling her eyes, as Tyler’s smile grew wider.
“Marry me, Y/N. Let me make your dreams come true.” He whispered quietly, hands coming up to wipe the tears away that had rolled down her cheeks. “let me love you like no other in this world has been loved.”
“Who knew the Tyler Owens, Mr. Tornado Wrangler, can be a sap.” She said, chuckling.
“Only for you darlin’. Now I need an answer.”
Y/N leaned forward, crashing her lips against his, mumbling yes against his lips, letting it become a mantra as she kissed him. His arms tightened around as she sighed happily against his mouth, and when they finally pulled away and Tyler put the ring on her finger, she gave him a mischievous grin.
“I think we should consummate this marriage proposal.” Y/N said, already backing off of Tyler and the truck, who scrambled up in an attempt to follow her.
“I don't think that's a thing but I like the way you think,” and he jumped over the side of the truck, boots hitting the ground with a heavy thud, chasing Y/N towards their motel room, one last grin casted over her shoulder as she disappeared inside.

GLEN POWELL as GARY JONSHON HIT MAN (2024) · dir. Richard Linklater
Glen Powell 'HIT MAN' Texas Premiere · 15 May, 2024
This man was amazing in this movie. Absolutely love it.
The post I just made a few hours ago? Doin' it.
Tyler Owens or Jake Seresin but they do a small date night with their girl.
Like if they are in-between chasing storms and need half an hour to themselves, Tyler readies a small night in the bed of the truck. Some candles maybe, or maybe tea lights because he couldn't find candles and found tea lights cheap at a nearby dollar store. Some pizza and music playing as they sit, cuddle. Talk, etc. They talk about life and where they see themselves in the future. Maybe some slow dancing at some point. (The song Rest of Our Lives by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill gave me this idea)
I feel the idea might be the same for Jake Seresin as well, with maybe some changes depending on if the reader is also an aviator or not.
I am so close to writing an idea for this if no one else does.
Your Carrie Underwood inspired Tyler fic is freaking amazing!!!! Thank you for posting it!
Thank you! I wasn't sure I did it justice but I'm glad to hear this!

Tyler Owens x Reader
Synopsis: request fic done with "Blown Away" by Carrie Underwood on the brain. Reader is in an abusive marriage and Tyler finally comes to save her.
Warnings: mentions of abuse/degrading words, swearing, implied character death (not Y/N or Tyler) I think that's it. Let me know if I misses anything. I tried, so I'm sorry if it sucks.
Also not edited, so if there are mistakes, I'm sorry.
Y/N knew she wouldn't be able to hide it for long. She knew eventually that the wounds she wore, that spread across her body like vines, withering her soul away to nothing would give way to something. It was only a matter of time. Her excuses of being too clumsy would only hold up for so long. The split lips, black eyes, and bruises on her body would give way to a story in which people would shove their sympathies and self pity into her face. She didn't want it though. Y/N didn't want the attention, the spotlight.
She could barely muster up the courage to be on the livestreams with the Wranglers, sitting in the back seat of the red beast that they rode into tornadoes often. Y/N almost grew envious of the truck, watching how well it was cared for and maintained, treated so well. She got barely half of that treatment at home.
From her husband.
Oh how doting he was when they first met, willing to bend over backward for her and give her the world. Love her as if she was the last one on Earth, looked at her as if no other woman existed.
Then he ripped it out from underneath her, twisting a knife into her back at the same time. No matter how much she tried to reach for that knife, she couldn't reach it. She couldn't pull it out, no matter how badly she wanted to.
But the only person who also seemingly caught on to how she felt was the very man that couldn't have her.
One Mr. Tyler Owens.
The man fell head over heels for her but while she was married, he couldn't do anything but watch from afar, appreciating her as a friend only because that was the only way he could have her. And for a while he was okay with that.
Until he wasn’t.
He noticed the bruises. The split lips. The flinching whenever he or anyone else raised their hands above a certain threshold. Tyler was the one who broke down her door to get to her after finding out she was having a panic attack, the yelling outside the door from the variety of storm chasers overwhelming her. He held her while she slapped and clawed at him, begging him to let her go until she realized it wasn't her husband, and that she was okay. Tyler listened through the paper thin walls of the motel as her husband yelled at her through her phone speaker, calling her terrible names and treating her in a way that not ever, did a single person deserve. He listened as she had nightmares, wanting so desperately to help her, to hold her and reassure her.
Tyler wanted to be the one to love her because he knew he could do it.
Not her abusive husband.
He wouldn't be a husband that kept constant tabs on her and limit her freedom, beating her when she disobeyed or tried to fight back.
No. He would love her and care for her with every love sick bone in his body, because truly, all he lived for in this world, was her.
Even if he couldn't have her.
Even as he now raced towards her home, dead set in the path of EF4 Tornado, threatening to engulf every single thing in its path, including Tyler, Y/N and her abusive husband. He would save both of them, as much as he wished for him to be swept up by the storm and never seen again.
Tyler had barely put the red beast he drove into park, before his boots hit the ground, his heart pounding in his throat as he called out.
“Y/N! Y/H/N!” He raced towards the front entrance, hearing yelling and screaming coming from inside. Tyler held his breath, feet pounding up the steps to their home as he forced his way inside, the noises now louder as he tried to figure out where the sounds were coming from. The yelling and screaming echoed from the back of the house, completely forgetting the wind howling outside for a single moment.
Then he saw her.
Y/N came around the corner, trying to dodge something her husband threw. Tyler watched as whatever it was shattered against the wall, calling her name before he even realized what he was doing. Her head whipped in his direction, catching sight of him, and he watched as her eyes flooded with relief, before the booming voice of her husband filled the house.
Y/N rushed towards Tyler, his hands capturing her tear soaked face in his hands, and oh how his heart broke for her. The redness on her cheek, likely from being slapped, along with a split lip. Bruises on her wrists where her husband forcibly held her. His calm resolve started to crumble as he continued to look at her, melting into anger.
“Y/N. Get to your storm cellar now.”
“What about you?” She asked. The wind outside grew louder, signaling their impending doom.
“I'll be there. I promise.” as he spoke those words, her husband rounded the corner from the back of the house, catching sight of the two.
“Who the hell are you? Have you been fucking my wife? Some fucking nerve to show up here.” He bellowed, advancing on the two.
“Y/N! Go!” Tyler shoved her out of the way and towards the direction of her storm cellar. She hesitated for a split second, looking between the two men before she finally disappeared.
“I always knew my wife was a whore. Fucking any man she seen.” Tyler watched as her husband closed the last few steps, the front screen door bursting open from the force of the winds outside. His eyes searched the room, finding an umbrella conveniently placed near the front door, and a split second he grabbed it, swinging it around and heard the destructive crack as he hit her husband upside the head.
And he collapse to a heap, Tyler standing above him. His chest heaving with panic as he hesitated on what to do. Drag her husband down the stairs to the storm cellar, saving a life, or leave him, giving her a chance to be free from him, also effectively saving a life.
“Tyler?!” Y/N's panicked cry came from below, spurring him to make a decision. He stepped over the crumpled body, dropping the umbrella and running through the house towards the storm cellar. Bursting his way inside, he made sure the door was sealed. Tyler made his way to her, his arms encasing her in a tight hold, his body covering hers as moments later the rumbling above them heightened, the noises outside growing impossibly louder as Y/N sobbed beneath him, tears soaking his shirt as she cried into his chest.
Somehow, her crying was loudest, beating the storm that raged on above them.
“It’s okay. I got you. You’re safe. It’s okay.” He repeated the words, the phrases becoming a mantra as the two of them spent the next several minutes in the cold and damp cellar, waiting out the raging tunnel of wind above them. And as he held her, whispering comforting words, his hand running through her hair in a soothing manner, he vowed that no one would find out about today.
Her husband's death would be accidental, caught in the storm after he was unable to make it to safety. No one would ever find out that Tyler left him deliberately to die, to free them of his wrath and to save Y/N.
She was safe, and maybe with time, Tyler could finally have her.
Maybe he could finally have the chance to treat and love her the way that she deserved.

Tyler Owens x Reader
Additional Note: scenes in this are improvised and aren't true to scenes in the movie (was at work when I wrote one half of it so I had to improvise. )
Would prefer if Minors DNI with this one, but nothing explicit happens, so just read at one's own discretion.
Warning: swear words, pretend sex, implied sex, let me know if i missed anything(although I'm willing to make the sex scene between the reader and Tyler if people are interested- if I added it into this it would have turned into a 3 part instead of a 2 part fic) - still very long so it probably should have been a 3 part regardless, but take it
Y/N was sitting on her bed, a book in her lap when a knock sounded at her door. She perked up, knowing exactly who it was before he walked through the door. She glanced at him as he let himself inside, their eyes catching each other's gazes as he shut the door behind him.
His eyes moved down as she closed her book, setting it on the nightstand next to her.
“Good book?”
“It's a book about lobotomies. So yes.” He raised an eyebrow in what looked to be concern as he walked further into the room. Y/N let out a laugh, a full belly laugh as she reassured him.
“I'm joking. It's a western. Not too bad.” She said, slipping out of the bed. His eyes roamed over her body, before he looked at her face, catching her staring at him with a smirk.
“Would you like a drink?” She asked, moving to the fridge that resided in the room. His eyes took in the little space that she was temporarily calling her own, her bed was slightly unmade, pillows in an unorganized heap. Her suitcase was tucked underneath the bed, but a neat pile of what he assumed to be dirty clothes sat in a pop up hamper sat near the bathroom, ready to be cleaned in the downstairs laundromat.
“Whatcha got?” he asked, finally moving his gaze back to her. Tyler watched as she looked into the fridge, clicked her tongue and turned to look back at him.
“Budweiser is all I got.” she said, cracking a smile. “Not really much for choices.” Tyler shook his head.
“That is okay. But, yea. I’ll take one.” He said. Y/N nodded, turning back around and grabbing two, lifting her shirt in her hand to twist the cap off of both bottles. Tyler caught a glimpse of her body underneath the shirt, his throat going dry as he thanked her for the drink.
“Just so we are on the same page.” Y/N started, moving to her side of the bed once again. “We aren’t doing anything frisky tonight.” She looked up at Tyler as he took a swig from his drink. “There is a bag by the front door for empties. Help yourself to more if you’d like.” she said, and he nodded in acknowledgement. Y/N was silent for a few moments as the stood stared at each other, taking each other in as they stood before each other. Their eyes moved over each other, trying to read the other person. There was something there, both could feel it, and Y/N was tired of waiting, and something in her also told her that Tyler likely felt the same way.
“I wasn’t lying when I said I liked you Tyler. I don’t want things to just be a fling when the season is over.” Tyler nodded, taking a few steps towards the bed. “And we don’t have to talk a lot about it tonight, but I do want to get to you better, if that’s okay.”
Tyler nodded.
“Yea, that’s fine, sweetheart. Anything you want.”
“Great. But, everyone probably didn’t see you come up here. Someone probably did though, so we have to make things look convincing in case someone walks in uninvited-”
“They do that?” he asked. She gave him a look that told him not to ask and he only held a hand up in understanding. “Got it. Anyways, go on.”
“Strip.” Tyler nearly choked on his beer at the order, looking at Y/N as she tried to withhold laughter.
“Pardon?”
“Just to your boxers.” She explained. “I’ll replace my shirt with your flannel, it looks more intimate that way. And then I’ll take just my shorts off.”
“You’ve really thought about this darlin’.”
“Possibly.” She cracked a smile, watching him as he started to unbutton his shirt. Tyler couldn’t help but smile back at her, the grin on her face was highly infectious. He was becoming hypnotized by her and everything that was her. Once his flannel was off, he tossed it in her direction, watching as she caught it effortlessly, setting it on the bed as she turned her body slightly, starting to take her tank top off. As she slipped it off her body, and Tyler watched as she did so, he saw that she wasn’t wearing a bra, his eyes on her backside as he slipped off his pants, dropping them carelessly on the floor of the motel.
At the sound, she turned her head slightly to look at him.
“Is this okay?” She asked, her eyes catching Tyler’s gaze. His heart thudded against his chest. He was okay with it, but the thought of her making sure it was okay with it caused his stomach to flip with butterflies. Most other women would have already tried to throw themselves at him, which is what already made Y/N different from the others. She was committed. She wanted this just as much as Tyler realized he wanted it.
“Yea.” His voice came out hoarse, followed by a raised eyebrow of amusement from Y/N. “It’s okay.” He spoke softly, crawling into the bed, setting his beer on the nightstand. Tyler watched as Y/N finished changing, buttoning up two buttons in the middle of his flannel and pulling her shorts off, tossing them across the bed to settle on the floor not far from his pants.
Tyler enjoyed the sight of his flannel over her body, falling about mid thigh, giving him much to think about.
He watched as she crawled into the bed next to him, shoulders brushing each other’s as Y/N turned on the dingy and very old tv, putting some old reruns of “That 70s Show”. As the two got comfortable, sitting in silence and spending a little bit watching the tv show, Tyler watched from the corner of his eyes as Y/N grinned, turning to him.
“What’s going on in that pretty head of yours darlin’?” He turned his attention from the tv and to her, trying not to let his wander to her cleavage, trying to remain polite.
“What to know what would really give them the impression that we fucked?” she asked. He let out a hum, his eyes drifted briefly to her lips before back to her eyes.
“What’s that?”
“We make sex noises, rock the bed so it hits the wall.” She tried to suppress a laugh as Tyler’s grin grew to match hers.
“God I fucking love that brain of yours.” He said. She blushed at the compliment, her cheeks and ears becoming a shade of red. “But we should also throw in some dirty talk. Y’know. That will really sell it.”
“Okay. Okay. Yes. Good thinking.” Y/N nodded, agreeing. “Who goes first?”
“Ladies first.” Tyler motioned for her to begin. Y/N started giggling, finding the idea funny, watching as Tyler also started to suppress a laugh.
Turning her head away from him, she composed herself, then let out a moan.
“Fuck Tyler. Yes, just like that.” She watched as Tyler smacked his hands against his thighs, imitating the sounds of skin slapping, before a low groan escaped his throat.
“Fuck, baby. So fuckin’ tight. Takin’ me so well Darlin’.” Y/N let out more moans, grabbing the headboard and rocking it against the well.
“Feel so good, Tyler. Fuck.” Y/N and Tyler looked at each other, trying to stifle their laughter as they continued the little charade. The two continued to groan and moan in between small bouts of laughter. The dirty talk also continued, as Y/N continued to rock the headboard against the bed. The two kept the charade up for about ten minutes.
“This pussy was made for me. Fuck, Y/N. Squeezing me so well. You’re close. I know it. I feel it.So am I Sugar.” His voice was almost guttural at this point, trying to imitate him being close to an actual orgasm.
Y/N moans got higher pitched and Tyler continued to make slapping noises.
“That’s it. Such a good girl, Y/N.” Tyler let out a broken groan, and Y/N let out a moan to match his, until the two finally let out a string of expletives, their fake moans and groans becoming broken as they reached their fake orgasms. The slapping of his hands on his thighs and the pounding of the headboard stopped. The two sat in silence for several moments, before the two broke out into quiet laughter, Y/N turning her head to muffle her laughter into the skin of Tyler’s shoulder and he turned his head to bury his face into her hair, his own laughter muffled by her hair, lips pressed against her head softly.
The two sat in silence once again, pressed slightly closer to each other than what they were previously, having not moved their heads away from each other, eyes back on the tv still playing old reruns. His fingers gently grazed her thigh, and she let him, pushing her thigh closer to his hand. Tyler let his hand move up, hand now settled entirely on her thigh, drawing small shapes.
“We should play 2 truths one lie. But instead of 2 truths, it's 2 lies and one truth.” Y/N finally spoke up, tilting her head slightly to look up at him. His eyes moved down to look down at her, moving to her lips briefly before back to her eyes.
“What are we? Teenagers?”
“Please.” She begged him. Tyler let out a sigh and rolled his eyes.
“Okay. Okay. I'll go first.” Tyler shifted slightly, getting comfortable, his grip tightening slightly on her thigh before it loosened. “Okay. I can't handle spicy foods, I've been storm chasing my entire life, and I had a Shetland pony named Ruger growing up.”
“Easy. You’ve been storm chasing you're entire life.” She said.
“No, actually. I had a Shetland pony growing up. The other two are lies. I can definitely handle spice and I've only been storm chasing since my late teens. Parents wouldn't let me go when I was younger.”
“You and a Shetland pony?”
“Yes. We were inseparable.” Tyler said, Looking down at her. “He was a Christmas gift. Absolutely adored him.”
“Figured you’d be more of a thoroughbred or Quarter horse kind of guy.”
“Nope. Had some, but Ruger was my guy.” He answered. His eyes moved back down to her. “You're turn sugar.”
“Okay. I had a thing for Javi.” She grinned at him, and he rolled his eyes, a small smile still on his face regardless. “ I've been bull riding.” She waited until his eyes moved back to her before she said the final one. Her hand came up to rest on his cheek, his head instinctively leaning down closer to her face. “I really enjoyed the kiss earlier.” His eyes moved back to her lips, before he moved in, his lips pressing against hers for the second time that night.
Tyler's hand moved to her waist, rolling on top of her, body pressed into hers. His hand slipped under his flannel, fingers grazing her stomach. She sucked in a breath, her hands looping around his neck, fingers finding homage in his hair.
Tyler moved away from her lips, trailing kisses down her jaw and towards her neck, biting and sucking on the skin where her neck met her shoulder. Her neck tilted away, giving him more space to work as she caved in to him.
“What do you want, Sugar.” He mumbled against her skin. Her legs spread for him, allowing him to move his hips between her legs. Tyler’s lips grazed her shoulder softly, before he pulled back and looked her in her face. She let out a groan, giving in to him.
“I owe you a ride don’t I?” She asked. Tyler smirked, the image of her wearing his cowboy hat ingrained in his mind.
“Atta girl.” Tyler flipped them over so that he was on his back and she straddled him. Her hands settled on his chest, her hands moving up and down his skin, taking in the feeling of him beneath her.
“I just ask for one thing, Tyler.” She said, Looking down at him, feeling vulnerable, in that moment.
“For you? Anything.” He said.
“No one night flings.”
“No. I'm afraid, after tonight darlin’, you’re stuck with me.”
“Good.”
—----
Y/N stepped out of her motel room, Tyler holding the door open for her before following her out. The two walk side by side, walking towards the stairs that would take them to the ground level. Everyone down below watched as they talked and exchanged laughs, only one of the groups finding solace in the evolution of the two’s relationship.
Their shoulders brushed together and Tyler’s hat was now back upon his head, looking down at Y/N as she spoke.
“I remember the bet from the bar last night. About the winner of the pool game. I am almost certain that you let me win.” She claimed, turning her head to look at him, a smirk on her face, one in which he had returned.
“Not sure I know what you are talking about, Sugar. That’s quite an accusation. But a deal is a deal. You get to choose who goes to what storm.” Tyler stopped her, pinning her to the railing of the second floor.
“Follow us.” Tyler stared at her.
“That’s not what I meant sweetheart.”
“I know. But it’s what I want.” She said. He stared at her for several moments longer before finally nodding.
“If that’s what you want.”
“It is.” His eyes moved past her and landed on the StormPar crew, who couldn’t tear their eyes away from the two. Two of his fingers slipped through a belt loop, pulling her towards him. He dipped his head down, capturing her lips in a searing kiss, grinning when they heard the Tornado Wranglers hootin and hollering.
“Still puttin a show on for them?” Y/N laughed against his lips once they pulled away.
“Using your words darlin’.” Tyler pulled away, his tongue darting out to lick his lips. His hand moved from her belt loop and to her waist. “It’s fun riling them up.” He grinned at her, before it turned into a soft smile. “You bought coffee yesterday. I’ll run across the street and get it this time.”
Y/N smiled up at him, a genuine smile, one that lacked mischievous and snark.
“Could get used to that smile of yours.” He murmured softly, taking all of her in.
“You better.” Her hands came up to rest on his neck, pulling him down for another kiss, fingers weaving into his hair as he pulled her against him.
“I don’t know if I can ever get used to kissing these lips of yours though. Each one is its own amazing experience.” Y/N let out a full belly laugh, Tyler pulling away to grin at her.
“Whatever, cowboy. You mentioned a cup of coffee?”
“On it.” He smirked at her and tipped his hat, making his way down the stairs. Y/N watched him go and watched as he interacted with his group, promising them all coffee on him as he walked off. StormPar glared at him as he passed them, politely tipping his hat in their direction.
Y/N finally made her way down the stairs, smiling at Tyler’s group as she walked past them, giving them all a good morning as she walked over to the StormPar vehicles. She held their gazes as they looked at her, most of them giving her a cold shoulder as she attempted to help them get ready for the day.
She tried offering input on weather conditions for each storm and would be better when compared to another. No one wanted to listen. Y/N tried offering help in getting technology and systems ready for the trip, but she was ignored.
“Don’t need to go another round with him?” Someone asked, shouldering past her. Her eyes watched them retreat, and when she turned to look at Javi, he couldn't even meet her gaze. Her throat closed up, and she moved to Lion, climbing into the back seat. Y/N stared at the back of the front passenger seat, the silence in the truck becoming suffocating.
“Owens hasn’t tainted you enough yet? Figured you’d be attached to him like a lovesick puppy after last night.” Scott’s voice reached her ears through the lowered window. She closed her eyes, leaning her head back against the seat, trying to drown out the voices outside of the vehicle. Tyler and his group weren't terrible. They were competition though, and apparently it was frowned upon to be fraternizing with them.
Then she decided to make a rash decision, climbing out of the truck and making her way over to the other wrangler’s. Her feet crunched against the gravel on the ground, aware of the eye on her back as she held her head high, her sight focused on Boone, Lilly, and the others, who had all stopped what they were doing to watch her.
“Y/N. Tyler isn’t back with the coffees yet.” Lilly spoke up, catching her attention.
“I figured. I just…I was wondering if you guys would like a tag along.”
“You can have shotgun.” Boone told her. With that being said, Y/N sat with them, waiting for Tyler to return. She shared some laughs with them, in a much better mood than she was when she had walked over. Y/N mainly had taken the opportunity to get to know the group better, learning things that she never had the chance to learn previously.
It wasn’t much longer before Tyler had arrived back to them, his eyes catching the gaze of Y/N. His face turned to StormPar briefly before he finished handing out the coffees to everyone who had wanted one, the last one going to Y/N.
“What’s the issue?” He asked. “Everything okay?” Her gaze moved to the StormPar crew, before back to him. She didn’t have to say anything for him to understand what she was trying to tell him. He stepped closer to where she sat on the tailgate of his truck, hands coming to rest on her thighs, his cup of coffee abandoned next to her.
“Let them stew in it. We aren't breaking the law or anything. They are just a bunch of lonely pansies with nothing else to do.” He said, a finger coming up to tap her nose. “Understood?”
She laughed softly at his words and nodded.
“Understood.”
“Good. Now get your pretty ass up in that shotgun seat.” He helped her down from the tailgate and the two walked over to the passenger side. Tyler opened The door for her, a soft kiss landing on her temple as reassurance for the day, and landed a smack to her ass.
Y/N turned around, seeing him leaning against the open window, a cheeky grin on his face. It was infectious, and she couldn't help the smile she gave back to him.
Her smile faltered slightly, seeing Javi, Kate and Scott staring at them. Tyler turned his head, catching sight if the three and stared for a few seconds before he turned back to her.
“I get Rivera and Carter are your friends, but changes have to be made if they won't.” Y/N nodded as she looked at him.
“I'll talk to them tomorrow. See if we can reach common ground.” Tyler watched as she pulled her phone out, sending Javi a text message stating that, Just telling him he wasn't giving up on StormPar just yet.
“Y'know Sugar. StormPar isn't what you think they are.” Y/n turned her to look at him after pressing send.
“What d'you mean?”
“They feed off the weak. Talking to the victims like they do? The ones that lose their house and everything inside? They are moving in to buy from the victim and turn it around for their own gain.”
“And what are you trying to telling me to do?” She asked quietly. Y/N was surprised when she didn't feel shocked about the revelation. Watching interactions in destroyed towns between StormPar and victims had always left a sour taste in her mouth.
“Sweetheart, I'm not trying to tell you what you should do. You’re smart. I mean, you’re giving me a chance.” He grinned again at her and Y/N smiled, pressing a hand to his face in an attempt to push him away. Tyler only captured that hand in his own, thumbs running along her knuckles.
“What about you and your shirts?” She asked.
“All proceeds from the shirts go to buying food for those who need it after a disaster like an EF5. Yea, it's a little untasteful to sell some in the towns, but we don't keep any of it.” Tyler explained.W"its the difference between us and StormPar. We are in it for the communities. StormPar is in for themselves.” Y/N stared at him in thought, taking it all in. She has seen Lilly, Ben, when he wasn't taking photos, and some of the others passing food out to The people of the damaged communities. It was slowly starting to make sense to her. She turned her head to look back at Tyler, seeing him still staring at her, head tilted slightly.
“Kiss me?” It came out as more of a question than a demand.
“Yes ma'am.” He tipped his head forward, tip of his stetson tilting up slightly as it brushed against her head. Boone made fake gagging noises in the back as Ben climbed in next to him.
Y/N smiled into the kiss, amused at Boone's childish antics. The kiss was gentle and soft, full of promise.
When the two pulled away, Tyler pressed a few more chaste kisses to her lips, before giving her a knee weakening smirk and walked around to get into the driver seat.
“Alright ladies and gentleman. We have a storm to chase.”
—---
Y/N looked over to where Tyler was, currently helping a family find their dog. She watched as he showed genuine concern, reassuring the family, before her head moved to where some of his group members sold shirts and passed out food and water to those who needed it.
They were truly the light at the end of the tunnel, while StormPar seemed to be the preceding darkness, back behind them.
“Y/N!”
Many heads turned at the mention of her name, mostly from the Wranglers as she stopped and watched as Javi ran up to her.
“What's going on?” He asked, coming to a stop in front her.
Tyler paused his search for the dog, watching the two, although he couldn't hear what was being said. His eyes were focused on Y/N as she spoke with her boss.
“What do you mean?” She asked.
“Riding with the Tornado Wranglers? Of all people?” He asked. as Y/N watched him, she was almost certain he wanted to say something about Tyler, but had held his tongue.
“I obviously didn't feel welcomed with you guys earlier. And Tyler and his crew have been nothing other than welcoming.” Again. He looked like he wanted to say something but bit it back.
“They are only in this all for themselves. I mean, they sell shirts with Owens face on them, for fucks sake.”
“It's for a better cause than StormPar.” She snapped. “Really? Preying off the families that just lost their homes and everything else they own? buying properties for a reasonable margin and then turning it all around to sell for more for your own gain?”
“We are helping these people.”
“Bullshit. Tyler and his crew have a larger foot in the door helping these people. Using proceeds to buy food and water for those that need while you do nothing of the sort.”
“Smart talk coming from the person who killed three of our friends.” Y/N stopped, feeling like she had been slapped across the face. Even Javi released the damage of his words. She took a step back as her reached for her.
“Y/N, I didn't-”
“No.” her shaky voice cut him off as she turned to walk away.
“Y/N. I'm sorry, just please. Let's talk about this.” His voice fading as her ears started pounding, her eyes moving frantically in front of her before catching sight of Tyler. He stood in the middle of a bunch of rubble, his eyes trained solely on her, having watched the conversation turned into an argument. She swallowed thickly, before turning away and running over to Lion, climbing in. The truck roared to life and she spun tires as she left, leaving everyone in the rear view mirror.
—---
Y/N found refuge in her parents barn, now belonging to her brother and his family. All of her storm equipment and tests and everything else in between still existed her, behind closed doors and semi forgotten. Many pieces collected dust, but the most well loved was her little alcove in the back corner.
A small projector lit up the room, casting a video of a Tornado, sound and everything included around the room. She sat in a bean bag, knees pulled to her chest, tears pricking the corner of her eyes threatening to fall as they were trained on the force of nature. When light flooded the small room, she didn’t move.
Silence filled the air between who stood there watching her and Y/N.
“You’re brother said I’d find you here.” her gaze snapped to Tyler’s, not expecting to see them there.
“Tyler, I’m so-” She was cut off. Y/N wanted to apologize for leaving him, but he held up his hand, silencing her. He moved into the small room, squatting down in front of her. Her eyes followed him, the tears finally falling.
“I had always thought your name sounded familiar. Dexter was the one to piece it all together.” He went silent for a few moments. “I’m sorry to hear about your friends. It’s not your fault.”
“It is though.”
“You never expected it to end the way it did.” Tyler brought a hand up to rest on her leg, providing reassurance.
“They didn't have to die.” She whispered.
“No, they didn't. And it sucks. I know it does sweetheart. But it's not your fault. and Rivera had no right to throw it in your face.” He reassured Her. His hands came to rest on her cheeks. “Are you listening to me?” He asked. Y/N nodded, causing him to give her a soft smile. “Good. Now come out and get some food. Your brother said they haven't seen a lot of you in the last few days, and his wife just made a killer feast.” Y/N chuckled at his last sentence, before she stood up, Tyler doing the same. He leaned down and pressed a long Kiss to her lips, the two of them melting into it.
“I'm sorry for leaving and not saying anything.” Y/N mumbled against his lips after They pulled away.
“It's okay Sugar.” He spoke with the same soft tone as her, his hands coming up to wrap around her, pulling her into a tight hug.
Y/N had fallen further in love with Tyler twice that night. The first one being that exact moment, understanding and caring for her in a way no one else but her brother and his wife did.
The second moment was watching as Tyler interacted with her niece and nephew as they all watched a movie. Her niece sat in his lap, her nephew sitting on the couch next to him as he told them stories about storm chasing, getting vocal and overdramatic to add excitement for the two young children.
A smile sat on her face, widening further as she locked eyes with Tyler during one part of his current story. A feeling that no words could have described passed between the two, knowing instantly that no matter what, they were both in it for the long ride.
And as everyone turned in for the night, and Tyler had beaten Y/N to bed, he had his arms open and already waiting for her. She crawled into them, burying her face into his chest as he buried his face into her neck, hands resting on her lower back and tangled into her hair.
Her arms moved to wrap around his torso, fingers drawing shapes into his back.
“Thank you, cowboy.”
“Anything for you, Sugar.” He mumbled against her skin, moving to press a kiss to her temple before the two of them fell asleep.

A snippet of what's to come in part 2 (I don't want to give away too much about this scene because it's my favorite, so I'll leave as much to the imagination as possible.)
Hiii!! So I was just listening to “blown away” by Carrie underwood and it gave me a good idea so I was wondering if you could make a tyler Owen’s x reader where the reader has a very abusive husband and tyler finds out and saves us? Lots of angst and fluff :)
Oooook love that song! Absolutely! My current one is still in the works, but I will start this once I'm done with the current one!
I'm in the mood for some Tyler Owens or Jake "Hangman" Seresin requests! Glen powell has been on my mind, and his portrayal of these two characters is phenomenal. Looking for anything honestly, so send them in.
