This was inspired by an Arctic Fight (Art Fight but winter!) theme + docm77’s season 11 killer antics.

if i were to redraw this, i think i’d make the metallic plating look sharper and embrace more techy details / put em in the horns. i flipping love how people draw doc. i gotta draw the goatfather more often and properly. also, is he a zombie or a creeper????

I prooobably should’ve made the arrowhead white or something but oh well. hopefully the arrow isn’t read as tipped? maybe I should’ve leaned into the infinity enchantment. I think the original thinking was to make it Scar-themed though, oops. maybe some other time! (I say this like I’ll redraw/finish the piece, but even my heart of hearts knows this is unlikely.)

When I was an itty-bitty kid I watched one of those “what if the EVIL, VILE, RAVENOUS SHARKS could also __” movies where the whole premise was that sand sharks could suddenly burrow through the sand as if it were no different than the freaking sea. and then the ONLY thing I learned from it wasn’t “sharks are scary what if they eat me :(“ but that sharks are so freaking AWESOME and that some of them could swim IN the BEACH!! For a vaguely 4 to 6 year old, that was mind boggling. Shark explosion emoji. I was so immersed with that idea because, like woah, these sand sharks certainly must eat a lot of crabs and a lot of buried treasure for them to live IN the sand like that. Wow! Surely someone has caught on right? There’s GOTTA be a vast quantity of gold and trinkets in those sharks, no wonder the TV wants me to slowly hate them. And as a Prideful Smart Kid (self-proclaimed), I knew that, while most things on the big entertainment box could be a liiittle unrealistic, surely some of the more fear-inflicting media had to have realistic roots! I believed in this scene absentmindedly, fully accepting sand sharks as fact and never giving its validity a second thought. While I had never heard of sharks other than the big whale one and the great white one (why isn’t it the great grey one? The wasted alliteration!) and also the giant mega-low-don one, that movie taught me about the secret 4th shark and I was forever grateful (I will never remember anything else about that movie ever).

anywhom shout out to the adult from my sick elementary days who let me proudly talk their ear off about the sand burrowing sand tiger sharks that could snatch you up from the FLIPPING ground (shark adjacent pun, only REAL pseudo-pun intellectuals would get it) in ONE bite. I wouldn’t have my confidence today if it weren’t for your “haha silly creature, your antics amuse and are simultaneously beneath me (that last part is what the paranoia tells me, logic and memory tells me you were actually pretty chill)” attitude that day.
