Seamus couldn’t honestly say he was quite as passionate about Herbology as Parisa, but he did much prefer outdoor, hands on classes to being stuck inside a stuffy classroom all day. Even if they were going to end up elbow deep in fertilizer, which was the polite word for various kinds of animal shit.
“Yeah, alright,” Seamus agreed politely once Parisa had finished her explanation. He made the quick trip over to the set of shelves and returned with their plant, which seemed to be doing reasonably well. Dittany was a pretty useful plant, especially with how often people seemed to get hurt around Hogwarts, and he could see why Sprout wanted them to learn to grow it.
“You ever harvest wild plants?” he asked. As much as Seamus enjoyed being out in the greenhouses, he thought exploring the grounds would be even better. Maybe even go into the forest, a bit.
“I wish I knew who keeps putting my plants up there.” Parisa sighed as Seamus came back with their pot. Her fingers brushed affectionately over the leaves. Parisa could almost feel the thrum of magic through the greenery. Or maybe that was just her imagination. “It seems like every time I come into the greenhouse someone has moved one of my things up too high.”
Professor Sprout came around, handing new, bigger pots out to the class. This new pot was nearly the size of Parisa’s head. Parisa wanted to make sure the new pot was labeled with their names before they put the new plant inside. Trying to label it after could lead to disaster. Parisa wrote while answering Seamus’ question. “Of course I have. Dulcina, the witch who raised me, lives in the middle of the woods. It’s always fun collecting wild plants.” She grinned at her partner. “Like a treasure hunt.”
