Dec 18-19, 2016 - Crystal Beach Resort, Zambales
Crystal Beach Resort is the top-choice surf resort in Zambales. The place is perfect for camping, surf lessons and team-building activities.
Had our meet-up place at Victory Liner, Cubao at 5:30 AM. The bus left at exactly 6:00 AM. We took the bus going to Olongapo since the bus going directly to Iba, Zambales is still 7:00 AM. It took us 3 hrs to get to Olongapo then another an hour and a half from Olongapo to San Narciso where the Crystal Beach Resort is located.
Check-in time is 2:00 PM but since we will be camping and not renting a room, we have already been allowed to setup our tent even if its still around 11:00 AM.
Overnight stay is supposed to be P750.00/head, but since the resort have no tents for rent already, we paid P550.00 instead as an entrance fee. That is already inclusive of consumable food and drinks amounting to P250.00. For the tent, some of their staff do offer tent for rent. We rented the good for 2pax which is P500.00, so that's P250.00/head. Not bad. Aside from the payment, we were also asked of a security deposit just in case the tent got damaged, etc.
After having our lunch, tent setup, stuffs settled, we already headed to the beach for a dip.
The resort is very spacious and is a good place to relax or even have team building. They have billiards for rent, basketball and volleyball court, and also offers surfing lesson. They have fan and aircon rooms, cottages for day trips and also hammocks. The only struggle here as a camper is that they doesn't have sockets wherein you can charge. I mean, there is but only to selected places. Like you'll have to stay or eat on their restaurant so you can plug your phones or powerbanks. So what I suggest is make sure that your powerbanks are fully charged. Im not sure if they do have lockers as we are bringing our valuable stuffs with us everytime we leave our tent.
Got to have small talk with this local guy. He's one of the seniors of the surfers there. It was just last 2011 that Crystal Beach has been a spot for surfing. Didn't got the chance to surf since Im still too shy and got used to surfing only at La Union. Moving forward, twas nice talking to one of their locals and heard their story from being a cook to lifeguard then surfer.
Almost spent the whole afternoon swimming at the beach. The waves are still tolerable that's why we still can manage to swim.
Loved the setup of their resort. The cottages, the wooden chairs, the camp sites, almost everything. :) I also have nothing negative to say against their staff as they are very friendly, polite, and accommodating considering that there are lots of guests.
They have their own restaurant and mini store. Although I should say, the food is pricey that's why for dinner, we just went out to eat at 711 which is the nearest convenience store. Tricycle ride is P15.00/head. Same goes for their drinks. But yes, although its pricey, it does taste good. What I suggest is for you to bring your own food, which I did for the next day's breakfast. For drinks, they do have corkage.
The next day, woke up at around 5:30 AM. Had breakfast at the tent with my baon then went for a dip by 6:30 AM. Enjoyed chillin' by the beach until 10:00 AM. If only I can stay much longer but by 12:00, we need to check-out already. Upon check-out, we had our lunch at their restaurant as well.
The place is very peaceful specially at night. As early as 7:00 PM, most of the guests are already sleeping, or maybe, they're just resting and enjoying the quiet place.
Will definitely go back to this place. :)
