12 Days of the Wanted Christmas - Day 7 (Story 3)
âYouâve got to be kidding me,â Rachel said, sitting on their bed. She had been in her pajamas, brushing her teeth, when Jay told her he needed to show her something. He had grabbed her hand and pulled her into the bedroom.
âYouâre going to dress up as Santa?â she said, trying not to laugh.
âWhy not? Itâs just for Christmas Eve at my parents house! I figure the kids will love it!â he said with a grin.
âI believe Mrs. Claus said it best in the original Rudolph Christmas special: âYouâre going to disappoint the children! Theyâre expecting a fat santa!â I donât even think that costume will fit you,â she said, laughing as he held it up against his body.
âOh yeah? Let me show you,â he said, closing the closet door behind him.
She heard him struggling with it, heard a few crashes and a pained âouchâ.Â
âYou okay, baby?â she yelled.
âIâm fine!â he replied, not sounding fine at all.Â
Finally, he opened the closet door and Rachel nearly fell off the bed from laughing. Jay had shoved a pillow into the coat and he really did look like Santa. He had the white beard and everything.
âHo ho ho! Merry Christmas!â he said, holding his fake belly.
He walked over to her and grabbed her hand, making her stand up. He took her place on the bed and pulled her down into his lap.
âWhat do you want for Christmas, young lady?â he said, holding her tight.
âJay, this is kind of creepy,â she said, stifling more laughter. She ran her hands through his fake white curls and cringed.Â
âHey, you donât have to believe it. This Santa is just for the little kids,â he said with a pout.
âYou saying that doesnât make this any better,â she said, kissing his nose. She could see his cheeks were flushed pink.
âSeriously, Rachel, what do you want for Christmas? I havenât gone shopping yet.â
âJAY! Tomorrow is Christmas Eve Eve! That means you only have two days! And most stores arenât even open on Christmas eve!âÂ
âNath and I are going shopping tomorrow, baby. Itâll be fine,â he murmured.Â
âYou are a terrible Santa, I hope you know that. Santa would have all of his Christmas shopping done weeks ago!â
âShush,â he said, putting his hand over her mouth. âIâm the best Santa in the whole world.â
Rachel rolled her eyes and kissed his lips. âAll I want for Christmas is you.â
Jay let out a groan and fell back onto the bed, pulling her on top of him. âYou already have me! And that just might be the cheesiest thing youâve ever said.â
âWell, thatâs all I want. Youâll have to figure everything else out.â
He let out another groan of frustration and looked up at her.
âFine. Now how much would it cost for me to get you to dress up like one of Santaâs elves?â
