Clark was sat in a coffee shop, listening to the latest news on a drug bust that had went wrong. It was the third this week and he couldn’t seem to catch the culprit but he knew eventually something would leak that he could use to his advantage. Out of the corner of his eye he spotted a woman struggling with some books. She had a lot, an avid reader he assumed. When the novels started to toss and begin to tumble, he moved quicker out of his seat than a normal human could, grabbing all the books before they could even touch the ground. He was supposed to be keeping his powers under wraps but clearly that wasn’t easy for him. “You have a lot to read here,” he said, his voice friendly as he made eye contact with her. “Is there a project you are working on? Or do you just love reading?” He was trying his best to distract, a bit of charm behind his voice to offset the fact that he just sped his way over to her. “My name is Clark. Clark Kent.”
Belle was completely ready to just accept the fact that she was just going to have to pick up all of her books, but...he came out of nowhere. She gave a smile and a sigh of relief. “Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it. It would have taken me a bit to get them all bundled back in my arms.” She laughed as she recomposed herself.
“I’m a librarian so I have access to all the books. Some of these are for studies but mainly just fun reads.” She explained, taking a moment to take in her new acquaintance’s features. He was quite attractive, and she had some pretty high standards when it came to men. She silently hoped and prayed he wasn’t just another Gaston. “My name is Belle, I’m a librarian and children’s director at the library down the block. “And what do you do Mr. Kent?” She asked, hoping to make conversation with the handsome stranger.
