Twisted Wonderland: Wardenswap AU
What if the housewardens were different? What if their paths had gone differently? What if they were assigned to the "wrong" house?
Welcome to the Wardenswap world.
AU created by @arithekitsune
Leona Kingscholar
Leona learned he would never be king and instead of losing all determination he fought even HARDER and became more strict with his servants and everything, landing him in Heartslabyul where he rules as king and everyone follows the rules. He is more lenient than Riddle and allows mistakes but as punishment you get assigned to the worst tasks.
Idia Shroud
Idia is far more cybernetic. He uses his technology to improve himself and make himself better. He believes that anyone can be “fixed.” He’s fixing himself with his tech to make himself more athletic and stronger. His ambition for how people can be improved is what lands him in Savanaclaw where he provides everyone with technology to improve them. “You can always be better.”
Malleus Draconia
For Malleus he leans into the whole mystery of himself and the intimidation. Floyd and Jade go to things in his stead to keep him more secretive and keep his intimidation high, even asking them to spread rumors about him. He’s not as charismatic as Azul but if people fear you it can guarantee you a seat at the table. They’re too scared to exclude you.
Riddle Rosehearts
Riddle ends up in Scarabia which grants him freedom from his mother. Jamil was hired as his tutor when he was child and was an "approved by his mother" friend. This caused him to spend much less time with Trey and Che’nya when he has Jamil by his side. When they both ended up in Scarabia, Riddle was joyous that he could finally be free from his mother and decided he was going to try everything she never let him do. Jamil is there to keep him level and stop him from hurting himself. They’re best friends and they keep each other balanced.
Azul Ashengrotto
Azul, rather than focusing on revenge, focuses on self improvement. He ends up learning to love himself as he is. He still tries to improve his weight and body and get stronger but he’s more accepting of himself. He can’t do anything about the body he’s been stuck with but learn to love it because it’s the one he has for life. That doesn’t mean every day is easy and he’s no longer insecure. Not at all. He still has bad days and he still gets conscious of his weight but with Rook’s help he learns to appreciate who he is and he focuses on helping others learn to love themselves with his charisma.
Kalim Al-Asim
Kalim has become a very sheltered boy. In his youth he wanted to believe that there was good in everyone but as he grew he learned the cold truth of the world. He learned that kind people don’t exist and that those who act kind are just using you and exploiting your trust. If you’re kind and loving, people use you. If you have influence, people want you dead. He learns to be self sufficient. He learns to cook for himself and gets his own ingredients because he’s been poisoned too many times to trust anyone to cook for him anymore. He’s been building up an immunity to poison over the years and learning how to protect himself if he needs to. He gets sorted into Ignihyde and continues as usual. He learns that self preservation rules over everything else.
Vil Schoenheit
And lastly, Vil. Certainly last. This is Vil if he didn’t want to be in the spotlight. Growing up, he was in the spotlight constantly due to being the son of a great actor. When he played a villain the first time and everyone shamed him, it felt nice to not be adored. He continued playing villains and bullies and eventually gave up trying to play anything else. Eventually, he gave up acting altogether. He purposely faded into obscurity. He focused on magic more. If he wanted to be known and bedazzle people, he wanted it to be for his magical abilities. This mentality landed him in Diasomnia. Vil shows his face because no one recognizes him. No one whispers about him, no one knows his face- he never tells anyone his last name. He’s scrubbed it from the school to stop people from learning his identity. He’s loving this life of obscurity. It would be nice to be adored but he can’t handle so much light on him if he’s always the villain. He’s happy but not fulfilled and he’ll always have this ache for more inside.
