I discovered something about myself that is potentially hilarious. In my rantings on Gambit, I have found that my accent changes depending on where I'm talking about. Northern states, over seas areas, they all get a relatively normal (masked) accent. Southern states above the mexican border get the southern accent from HELL. and further south starts getting a more and more hispanic accent. I'm curious if anyone else does this.

(NOTE: I'm white, but grew up in a hispanic community and learned spanish young so the accent and pronunciation habits stuck. I'm rusty as sin since i haven't had to use spanish but once since moving to VA 20 years ago)

I don't like the Rogue and Gambit pairing. It's boring. It's been done to death. They are far too matchy matchy for my taste. I mean seriously? A southern Belle and Louisiana swamprat, both with red hair? (I like opposites attract kind of pairings)

I would like to preface this with I am currently on a full week without my meds. My brain obsesses over doom and gloom when I’m not medicated and this is probably not as bad as I’m making it out to be but I really need to vent. I want to create and I want to share my creations. But lately… what’s the point? No matter what protections are in place, no matter how careful I am about where I post, no matter what people I chose to keep around me, my stuff is going to be thrown into the maw of AI models against my wishes. Even the well meaning people who are against AI can work against me by putting my stuff through AI checkers. Gods forbid I do something that gets traction. Then I’ll be running around tirelessly trying to stop people from stealing my stuff and using my stuff to scam people. Whatever voice my creations gave me will be drowned out, copied and plastered on some machine by some person more interested in attention than what rewards are gained by doing actual art and careful creation. Let’s be clear, I do NOT give two giant rat’s asses about haters. No one on this earth can say anything to me that I haven’t already said to myself. I have seen the inside of a suicide ward. I still have my lovely dayglow shirt from that time. Nothing anyone does to me can hurt me worse than that.

Hell, something I’ve been sitting on has the potential to be an asshole magnet and I am fully prepared to deal with that. But I can’t stand the thought of something or someone using my creations to hurt someone else. I can’t stand the thought of my voice being twisted to something that I would never say. That’s it. I ain’t doing that wishywashy “Oh I’ll delete this later”. I know others echo these concerns and are afraid to voice them. I’ve vented. It’s off my chest. This is for them now. People keep acting like art is worthless and isn't worth paying for... but they sure do work hard to steal it and make it their own.

I posted this kinda expecting someone to come in and be like "Bitch are you blind? Here's all this merch of the crazy cajun!" But all i got was people agreeing/realizing just how little there is of this character. A character that is said to consistently pop up as rather popular too. I was a fan during the 92 xmen show (some years after it's running mind you. I was only 4 years old when it came out) and even then there was only one figurine that I remember and it was so badly made that no one wanted it.

Very odd for how much love Gambit gets from the fandom.
