December Sessions at The O2 - Highlights: Day 5 (The 7th) (by DecemberSessionsTV)
December Sessions
100 Bands. 20 Days. 0 Charge!
The Stars Of Tomorrow in The Worldâs Most Popular Music Venue supported by Gibson, Best Buy, Sennheiser and Last.fm
The O2 to put over 100 new acts of all genres play free, all age gigs, from December 3rd to 22nd 2011 on the London Piazza stage.
Some of the most hotly tipped acts of 2012 already confirmed to play and announced across the national media.
These include boundary pushing outfit, Warehouse Republic (pictured) who hit the stage on Wednesday 7th December, Nikki Garnett (described as âWinehouse meets Lily Allenâ) and a brace of the nationâs fan and critics alike choices as Ones To Watch including Gaolers Daughter, Donât Wait Animate, Red n Pink, The Lysergic Suite, Model Society, Bibelots, The Dash, Belakiss, The Black Dove Experiment, Fractures and Proud Mary to name but a few.
Try before you fly! There is a December Sessions player featuring fifteen of this hand picked bill at http://www.facebook.com/decembersessions along with latest news updates and links.
It is encouraging for Music Tourist Board to see artists that have come from some of the âstarbreaker promoters circuitâ with shows at City Showcase, Brocolli Music, This Feeling, Flashbax, Playhard and Rocklands as well as paying their dues in the âbreeding ground of new talentâ (NME) that is South East London, before hitting its biggest venue.
Since opening in 2007, The O2 has sold more tickets than any other arena in the world â now its giving something back. December Sessions is a very welcome winter addition to the UKâs major festival calendar.
The capitalâs Costa del Thames (the planetâs Zone Of Time) is where futures will be made before New Yearâs Eve.
As one of the venues for London Olympics 2012, these gigs are a boost for the legacy of a new entertainment industry going for gold. âIt is  incredibly important for us to create something that supports a new generation of bands on the upâ said Suzi Kent, Head of Marketing and Communications at The O2.
Serious music fans and talent scouts alike will be here on and off stage. Aside from being part of this, there is also a including a photography exhibition by Carsten Windhorst with some of his most famous pictures. A âSilent Gigâ presented by Sennheiser who made last yearâs City Showcase Rocklands event at British Music Experience sound like a dream. Living up to their name, The British Music Experience have transformed one of Londonâs iconic red double decker Routemaster buses into a moving museum. All aboard for December Sessions!

Warehouse Republic
(1) Release âNot Todayâ on 27th June with (2) art by Eugene Ankomah, (3) publish a magazine; Beatall Juice, (4) throw a home coming launch party on 25th June, (5) earn attention at This Feeling Club and (6)⌠ROCK!
(1) âNot Todayâ - piano powered and partly inspired by Johann Pachelbelâs âCanon in D Majorâ, a new release on 27th June and another facet to the newcomers who wowed with their debut âRevolverâ at the end of 2010. The song , it was recorded in Wales and mixed (quite fittingly considering an underlying Beatles tinge) at Abbey Road Studios. âNot Todayâ is a simple, stark, and mind hooking pop epic from genuine musicians oozing with authentic potential. http://soundcloud.com/warehouserepublic/not-today
âââ
 (2)  Eugene Ankomah One of the UKâs most up and coming visual artists created the imagery for âNot Todayâ. Eugene is internationally exhibited, collected by celebrities like Dizzee Rascal (who acknowledges him as âamazingâ), Uri Geller and Ainsley Harriott, has had his work displayed at Buckingham Palace and recently did the 2010 christmas cards for that lot at Downing Street. More recently Eugene has appeared on Sky TV and even in a music video. A walking work of art himself, the spectrum of ideas that he and the poetic Warehouse Republic share, means they were destined to meet.  http://myspace.com/eugeneankomah

Beatall Juice is loaded with credible Art, Design, Photography, Sculpture, Style, articles on Drummers and Bassists in  Issue 1 as part of Warehouse Republic month http://on.fb.me/wrmonth. Fusing creativity with social inclusion, as a method of grass roots music industry, has proven effective, gaining an additional 100 new likes for http://facebook.com/wrfans in just a few weeks.

(4) Epsom Vestry -25th June: Warehouse Republic are throwing a party. Their homecoming gig is the single launch for âNot Todayâ. Spinning on the decks is Kasabianâs musical collaborator and tour DJ, Dan Ralph Martin. Itâs free entry! Epsom wonât have seen a rock n roll bash like this since the heyday of WR hero, Jimmy Page! Saturday 25th June, 7pm-1am - The Vestry, 2 Church Street, Town Centre, Epsom, Surrey KT17 4NY. Band on stage 9pm.Â
Psst - (1) The Vestry have cheap booze launch party specials and (2) Any day trippers from London (half hour adventure), the last direct train back to the capital from Epsom is 11.20pm.
âââ
(5)  Warehouse Republic at This Feeling. The above video is of the band playing new song, âTenderâ, at Londonâs rockânâroll hang out for 48-hour party people, and well known faces, alike. Keep a beady ear on This Feelingâs hand picked bills itâs a milestone of intent for guitar bands. Warehouse Republic played there recently.
âTenderâ is as different to âNot Todayâ as it is to debut single, âRevolverâ. This band, literally, are something else (and raw to the max live). Feedback for this clip at This Feelingâs facebook group includes comments like âSuch a sweet tone and what a great guitar player!â, âNice to see some bluesy riffs on the guitar these days!!â, â About time we finally got a new guitar hero!â and âA bit Led Zep n Jimi ⌠love the impressive guitar licks.â An industry insider also caught the show and remarked that they were not only âsolidâ live, but âin a different leagueâ which is encouraging.Â
Oh and, (6)  âŚWarehouse Republic ROCK!

Obviously, its early days, but if youâre looking for real, you could do worse than investigate, or even participate. For more live dates/info, free downloads and activism; http://warehouserepublic.com and http://facebook.com/wrfans
