Would the language learning community be interested in a dubbing add on for your non-target-language TV shows? I've been thinking of building one since I've been unable to find my favorite superheroes shows dubbed in chinese.

ok so apparently not a lot of ppl know to do this when âreviewing notesâ but
look at section of notes
look away from section of notes
explain section of notes
check if explanation was correct
identify mistakes/gaps
recite correction for each mistake/gap
repeat until no mistakes
gotta practice recalling the info instead of just acknowledging its correctness
This is a reminder to drink water!
DO ITđ
Iâm sorry but I wonât be able to take Ready Player One seriously. Weâre supposed to believe a worldwide online forum where you can be anyone and anything would look like this
when in real life the concept has turned out far more like
VR Chat has honestly destroyed Ready Player One
If you havenât read the book I strongly suggest doing so. The movie looks like itâs going to be absolute shit! Itâs not even the same story. The only thing the same is the name, not even the VR aspects are the same. I will not be wasting my money on this shit movie, when the book is so amazing!

Many of you may know that I keep youtube playlists of language samples, and I thought it was about time to compile them all into one post. They contain pretty much anything where you can hear the language clearly â music, dialogues, tutorials, movie trailers, readings, etc. Iâll probably add more in the future. Hope someone finds them useful!

honestly like, dabbling in languages is fun and getting to learn little interesting facts about hundreds of different languages with different cultures, history and politics is so cool, because the world is so vast and has produced so much interesting contentâŚ
but nothing compares to really learning a language and going from nothing at all, to completely understanding it properly, knowing the culture and nuances of its speakers rather than just reading one article about it, being able to actually utilise the language to its full potential with its speakers and feel almost as though you have a second life because of it
love yourself enough to know when you arenât being treated right
Literally the only thing Iâm actually learning as an English major is that pretty much ever successful poet, novelist, etc, was either on drugs, full of rage, or an unholy and powerful combination of the two. Do drugs, be mad, write stuff,
itâs never too late to start again. 5pm on a thursday can be your new monday. you donât have to wait until the new year to better yourself. time is an illusion, donât forget that. just because you woke up at 1pm, it doesnât mean you messed your whole day up and that you canât turn the mood around. itâs never too late to start again!!!!!
The second girl at least read the book to confirm that it was shit, she even had Capote on deck as backup. Chick 1 is just lazy
Nope. Girl 2 saw that Girl 1â˛s absolutely accurate analysis was being shut down just because it wasnât stated in an intellectual way (in spite of its validity). So Girl 2 reinforced Girl 1â˛s opinions in solidarity and made sure that it was absolutely clear that Girl 1 was factually correct. WITHOUT taking credit for her observations (âkim is rightâ instead of âActually, kimâ) Â
Girls supporting Girls.Â
Girls not letting other girls be treated poorly.
If you read thirty pages of a book and hate it, thatâs a good analysis. Girl 1 literally said, âIt sucked for these reasons, and I only got through 30 pages.â She was absolutely paying attention and trying to get it. But if all you get is a headache, fuck that book.
I love this exchange
Intentional misspellings and unusual handling of words is one of my favorite âminorâ memes tbh I love it so much. Here are some of my all time favorites:
⪠Replacing âckâ with âccâ (ie. succ, thicc)
⪠Replacing âtâ with âdâ and vice-versa (ie. gotdamn, shid, blocket)
⪠Just⌠every kind of weird variation you can do with the word âfuckâ (ie. fuckening, fucky)
⪠Weird jumbling of curse words that somewhat resemble something coherent (ie. mother fuck of a shit, shut the hell your mouth)
⪠Replacing a vowel in a word with another (ie. borger)
why have you analysed this
I donât really remember the exact mindset I was in when I wrote this but it was probably something like âohhhmmff english lamguage coolâ
Donât call me out like this
Look, creators need validation. Yeah, I preach the write for yourself, draw for yourself, CREATE for yourself, which is true. Everyone should create for themselves because itâs THEIRâS and itâll always hold something special. Create what YOU need. BUT, creators still need the validation.
If someone is putting their creations out there for even 1 person to see, they need the validation that they are GOOD at what theyâre doing. If they donât get the validation, they will stop. Creativity, inspiration, and motivation will come to a halt because creators will no longer feel like people care about what they create. They may do it privately, sure, but YOU will never see any of it again because that validation is gone. That confidence to SHARE with you, is gone.
So, what Iâm saying is that if you LIKE your favorite creatorâs work whether that be writing, art, graphics, gifs, video edits, etc. you NEED to validate them otherwise youâll stop seeing new creations. It takes 2 seconds to comment in the tags of a reblog. If you like what someone produced, TELL THEM.
