Summary: Time goes by. But feelings still remain.
The farewell was in fact unbearable. It hurt Eddie like hell. But what hurt the most was a year after. College life became hectic for you. Which caused letters and phone calls to lessen.
Then the guys got a big break. It was a small record label with very little rapport. But it was one he had a good feeling about. They made a deal for one full album and a few shows to promote it.
It was a very busy year that turned into two. Then three.
Before any of them knew it, they were playing sold out shows.
Things were working out. His dreams were coming true. But he never forgot about that girl with the sweet little smile. Though it has been some time since he saw it. He was fortunate enough to see it again one summer night in that third year.
The band was performing at one of their favorite places one hot night. They loved it because it was on a rooftop. Where they could see most of the city.
Tonight though, Eddie could only focus on the pretty girl with the small smile he almost forgot if it weren't for the prom picture he kept in his wallet.

The next day Eddie was hoping to have that long conversation. But you were nowhere to be found. He waited in the quad in the usual spot in the morning. But you didn't show. He kept looking at the cafeteria door every time someone walked in during lunch, hoping you would come. Still nothing though.
The last chance he would see you was in Mrs O'Donnells class. He knew you had to work after school so he wouldn't be able to see you for the rest of the day.
When he sat at his desk he noticed your backpack in the seat next to him. So you were there. You were just ignoring him.
The worst thing that could happen, did. He confessed how he felt and you were avoiding him. Now he wished he hadn't said anything.
The classroom door opened and you came in with some guy. You looked like you didn't sleep at all. You were pale and looked like you were gonna pass out.
Did he do that to you?
You then caught his eye and smiled a little. He lifted his hand to wave but you turned around to talk to Mrs O'Donnell.
“ Hey, teach. Umm this is Glenn. He's interested in taking over my column in the school paper. I already showed him around the workspace and how to lay out the stories.”
Mrs O'Donnell grinned. “ Perfect and did you teach him-”
“ Yes. He knows how to use the computer and how to search for information.”
As soon as the conversation was over, you went to sit down.
He leaned in. “ You feeling okay?”
You raised your hand and rocked it from side to side.
Now he was worried. “ Want me to get you some medicine or something to drink?”
You shook your head. “ I'm okay.”
His brows pinched together. Even your voice sounded different. “ Are you-”
“ Mr Munson. Is there something you would like to share with the rest of us?”
He looked towards the front of the class at Mrs O'Donnell. “ Umm what?”
She looked over her glasses at him. “ Mr Munson, as happy as I am to see you finally graduate, there are still some students that are here to learn.”
He gave her a thin lip smile and looked back at you. “ Sorry Mrs O'Donnell.”
She started the class and you ripped out a page from your notebook and handed it to him.
“ I feel like death but I'll be okay. Can I come by after work? We can talk.”
He looked at you and nodded. He then folded the note and stuffed it into his pocket.

It was almost 8 pm. Eddie kept looking at his watch for the past hour. Preparing for the talk.
But once his uncle left for work, he started getting ancy.
That's when he needed a smoke.
He went outside and sat on the steps. After the first cigarette was burned out, he lit another. Then headlights blinded him for a second. He quickly tossed the smoke after he heard you coughing.
You got out and made your way to him. Somehow you looked worse than before.
“ Hey dude. Sorry I'm late. I'm feeling like dog poop.”
He stood up. “ Anything I can do? I can make you some tea.”
You coughed again. “ Tea would be nice. But I don't want you to get sick. Besides, I can't stay too long. My parents want me home before 10.
He looked down at his watch and frowned. You guys only had 40 minutes. “ Well, do you want to come inside?”
You shook your head. “ No. That's okay. I would totally fall asleep in there. It's best if we stay out here. The fresh air will do me good.”
So far this conversation wasn't going well. Which started to make him feel insecure.
He then watched as you walked towards him and sat on the steps. Pulling him down to sit with you.
He swallowed thickly. Trying to figure out what to say. “ How did you get so sick so fast?”
You sniffled and shrugged. “ I guess my body isn't used to getting sneezed on the back of the neck in the subway.”
He chuckled lightly. “ Gross.”
“ Yeah. But it's just the flu I think, so I'm not dying.”
He grinned. “ Good.”
The tension started to build after that. The silence that ensued was almost unbearable.
“ So... why do you think you've fallen for me?” You asked all nonchalantly.
He sucked in a sharp breath and rubbed his hands on his knees. “ Ermmm I- honestly I don't know why this happened. All I know it's that no matter how hard I try, I can't stop thinking about you.”
You sighed and nodded slightly. “ Since prom right?”
He licked his lips and leaned his elbows on his knees. “ Yup.”
You went quiet for a second. Then you coughed. He looked at you and offered up some water and a cough drop.
“ Eddie, I'm fine. Really…let's continue…So you find me attractive because of how I dressed at prom?”
He hung his head. “ It started that way.”
“ And now you don't?”
“ N-no. I do. It's just more. You know.”
You nodded. “ Why?”
He looked at you. “ What do you mean?”
You met his gaze. “ Why is it more now?”
He shrugged and looked away. “ I guess I just see that you're amazing.”
Your laugh was a little raspie. “ And I wasn't amazing before?”
His eyes found yours again and he smiled. “ Guess not.”
You shoulder bumped him. “ Shut up.”
You guys chuckled for a second before it got serious again.
“ What about you?” He asked. “ When did it happen for you?”
You leaned back a bit. Resting on your hands behind you. Looking up at the stars. “ I want to say it was after I got over the crush I had on Jason.”
His eyes went wide. “ That-that was 2 years ago.”
You turned your head towards him. “ Yeah…it was. I guess you can say my type changed.”
He leaned back too and mimicked your actions. “ Why didn't you say anything?”
You faced the sky again and closed your eyes. “ You were seeing Marci. Then after her, there was that girl from the bar.”
He watched you as you sat up straight and looked at the ground.
“ I came to the conclusion that it was stupid to like, like one of your friends…then it got harder. Being who we were around each other. Close, comfortable. And I tried to not let it affect me…but then nana died.”
He sat up too and turned his body towards you.
You sniffled again. “ It's not the fact that you were there for me. But how you were there for my mom. How you were there for my dad…I remember when you and my dad were playing pool in the garage. It was the first time I heard him laugh in weeks. And with my mom…that's when you started hitting on her, just to get her to smile. Well that and you knew it annoyed me…I fell in love with you then. But I also knew that I couldn't do anything about it because you were family. And I didn't want to lose you too.”
When you started to cry he put his arm around your waist and pulled you closer.
You wiped your tears on your sleeve. “ You have been different since prom. And I thought it was because we're graduating soon. I thought it was because you were gonna miss me.”
“ I am gonna miss you.”
You turned to face him. He bore deep into your eyes.
“ Not as much as I'm gonna miss you.”
His heart was racing. You were so close. Your lips were merely inches apart.
“ I really want to kiss you.” He confessed in a soft tone.
You didn't look away or try to get out of his embrace. And he took that a go ahead. He closed his eyes and leaned in.
He could feel your hot breath against his lips and it sent shivers down his spine.
Just before your lips touched, he felt your hand on his chest. Then you moved your head down. Making him pull back slightly.
“ Eddie.” You whispered. “ We can't.”
He held you a little tighter. “ If it's cuz you're sick, I don't care.”
The look you had in your eyes he knew that wasn't it. So he let you go and felt broken. This wasn't what he wanted.
“ Eddie, I'm sorry. As much as I wanted this I-” you cut off and stood up.
He couldn't look at you. If he did he would end up crying.
“ I get that you're hurting right now. And I'm sorry that I'm the reason for it… it's just…Eddie please look at me.”
He flexed his jaw and did his best to not break down. When he finally looked at you, all he saw was his very sad sick friend. He knew you didn't want or mean to hurt him. And he felt like he would have never seen you so upset if he just kept his mouth closed.
“ I need you to hear me okay? We graduated in less than 2 weeks. After that, everything changes. And it's gonna be harder than we think to say goodbye to each other…if we do this now, it's gonna be that and so much more.” You shook your head. “ And I can't do that. I can't just be all in with you, just to have to say goodbye in 2 weeks…all I want is for things to be normal. I want to hang out with you and the guys like always. I want us to watch movies and play video games. I want to spend as much time together as possible. Because in a few days you're not gonna be an 8 minute drive anymore. I won't be able to hug you or laugh with you. I won't be at your band practices or show up to gigs…I just want the little time we have to be friends….just friends. Cuz I don't think I can handle anything more than that.”
He sat there and understood everything you just said. And though you rejected him, you were right.
He wanted you. All of you. But risking these last few days for something that was gonna end before it could even start. It wasn't ideal. Still, a few days with you would be better than not having you at all. Right?
He could argue and tell you that he would give anything to call you his. Even if it was just for a moment. But he wasn't going to.
Instead he got up and wrapped his arms around you. “ You're right. You're always right kid…I'm just sorry that I was late to the party.”
You hugged him back and apologized too.
“ Let me take you home.”
You pulled away and shook your head. “ No. How will you get back?”
He gave you a little smile. “ I'll walk.”
You coughed then refused.
“ It's okay.” He assured you. “I need time to lick my wounds.”
Your eyebrows knitted together and you gave him another sad look.
He gave you a little smile. “ Really. This was actually the nicest rejection I've ever got. Now common. Before your mom calls the cops.”

He gave you one last hug before turning to leave you on your doorstep.
“ Eddie.”
He looked over his shoulder. “ Yeah?”
“ You know with us, it's not a never… it's more like not right now.”
He pressed his lips into a thin smile. “ Gareth was right.”
You raised a brow. Silently asking what?
He sighed and put his hands in his pockets. “ He said that talking to you about this might make me feel better. “
“ Did it?”
He grinned. “ Yeah.”
You waved him goodbye and went inside. He spent the next 30 minutes wishing things ended differently.

Graduation day
Everyone was so excited to finally receive their diplomas. Eddie kept his promises. He gave his classmates the bird and ran off the stage.
He didn't go far though. He waited in the parking lot for everyone. Secretly, he wanted to run out before everyone so he could grab the graduation gift he got for you.
There was a second there where he felt like maybe the bouquet for roses and balloons were too much, but he didn't care.
And seeing your face light up when you saw them was everything.
You gave him a big hug and thanked him. “ I still have to pick yours up.”
He still kept you within arms reach but took a half a step back. “ You didn't have to get me anything.”
You just smiled and turned to give everyone else a congratulatory hug.
“ What the hell boy?!” Wayne said, hitting him upside the head.
“ Geez! I'm sorry man. I had too.” he said, rubbing the back of his head.
Wayne gave him a death stare but then smiled. “ Congratulations son.”
He grinned and gave him a hug. “ Thanks man.”
Soon after the pictures were taken, everyone got dinner together.
The whole night Eddie watched you. He saw your smiles and heard your laughter. But in your eyes there was a hint of tears.
He wished he could kiss that away. He wished he could hug that sadness out of existence. But he promised to just be your friend until you gave him the go ahead.
Little did he know he would get his wish.
As the night went on, all of his friends ended up at Gareth's after the parents and parental figures went home.
First was playing a few songs in the garage, while you sat listening. Then it was talking and playing video games.
Sometime in the middle of it all, you disappeared. Which of course prompted Eddie to look for you.
When he found you, you were outside on the porch swing.
“ Hey! Whatcha doing out here? It's almost our turn.” He said, taking a seat next to you.
You gave him a sweet little smile. “ Nothing much. Just going through the year book.”
You scooted closer to him and showed him the pictures of clubs and prom.
“ Do you remember when I went through a phase where I thought records were the best way to listen to music?”
He nodded. “ Yeah and we stole a bunch of milk crates to store your giant collection.”
You let your head fall back. “ And none of them fit in the damn things.”
You both laughed at the funny memory. And once it died down he shook his head.
“ I cut my shin climbing that barbed fence….when you saw the blood you nearly passed out.”
You giggled. “ But I didn't. I patched you up and kissed your wound.”
He shoulder bumped you.“ Then you passed out.”
You both chucked. But soon after, it was quiet. He moved closer to you and put his arm on your shoulders. His thumb subconsciously caressed your arm.
“ Oh! Almost forgot.” You said leaning forward and pulling out a black leather box from your backpack.
You handed it to him after.
He grinned and opened it up. There laid on a little silk pillow was a gold watch with leather bands.
“ Uhh wow! This…looks…expensive.”
“ It's from my parents and me…it's engraved on the back.”
He glanced at you before looking back at the Hublot. He slid it off the tiny pillow and turned it over. Silently reading the inscription.
‘ To E.M,
Follow your dreams.’
“ I love it.” he whispered. “ Help me put it on yeah?”
You turned slightly towards him and removed his old watch. Then replaced it with the gifted one.
He stared at it for a second. Really appreciating the beauty of it. Then he noticed you still had your hand in his. When he looked at you, you were biting your lip and looking down.
You must have sensed him staring and you met his eyes.
He swallowed out of nervousness, when he saw a glimmer of something in your eyes.
“ Ummm…here. You can have this one.” He said turning towards you. He reached for your right hand and put on his old watch. “ Now you have something to remind you of me.”
He made eye contact again. This time though he swore he saw you gulp too.
“ Like I could ever forget you, Eddie.”
He smirked a little and kept staring deeply into your eyes. What were the chances that you might want to kiss him now? Should he try again?
“ Kiss me.”
His mouth parted a touch as he sucked in a breath. “ W-what?”
You leaned in a bit and whispered it again.
This was it. The moment he had been dreaming about since his feelings changed.
He lifted his hand to cup your cheek. Gently dragging his thumb across your bottom lip. All the while moving closer.
His heart was racing and he held his breath. Your lips just barely grazed one another right before the front door opened. Causing you and him to pull away from each other.
Gareth came out. “ Guys! It's your turn. What are you doing?”
Eddie looked the opposite way of you and cursed under his breath. Yet another moment gone.
“ Emm n-nothing. Just reliving some memories.” You answered.
Gareth looked at both of you with suspicion. “ Okayyy… So you guys coming or what?”
Eddie stood quiet. Trying to hold back his frustration.
“ Ummm actually… I think I want to sleep in my own bed tonight.” You said, making him look at you. “ Do you think you can give me a ride?”

During the drive to your house you asked him to take you somewhere quiet. So Eddie drove out to a spot near skull rock.
When he turned the van off you sat there fidgeting.
“ So uhh why did you want to come here?” He asked.
He heard you sigh a little before watching you get up and climb to the back. He followed right after.
You guys sat across from each other. With the tension getting thicker by the second, you took off your shirt.
He sat there in utter amazement. Your chest was so full and looked so soft, his mouth nearly watered.
“ Eddie?”
He looked up to find your very curious eyes on him.
“ Are…are you sure?” He nervously asked.
You smiled softly at him before unclasping your bra.
He groaned lightly at seeing your buds harden as the air hit them.
He watched as you took off your shoes and your bottoms. Until all that was left was your panties.
You looked back at him and cleared your throat. Breaking him from his trance.
He quickly took off everything but his boxers and pulled you to lay next to him.

The morning came too fast for his liking. Though you both were happy, you both got dressed in silence.
Even the drive to your house was quiet. When he pulled up in your driveway you sat for a while. Staring at your house.

He reached for your hand and laced his fingers with yours. “ What happens now?”
You shrugged. “ I…I think we should leave things how they are. We had an amazing last night together. And I wouldn't change it for anything…But the truth is, it's better if we just take it for what it was. A really great goodbye.”
His heart sank but he had to agree. There was no way you guys could be together right now. Not with all the plans that were in place.
You gave him a hug and a kiss on the cheek before hopping out of the van.
His heart felt like it was breaking seeing you walk up the driveway. But then you stopped and turned around. You gave him that sweet little smile he loved so much and came to the driver side window.
“ Hey ummm mom promised to make pancakes today. If you want to join us.”
Then there was hope. Hope for something more. Hope that last night wasn't just a goodbye. But the start of something truly worthwhile.
He smirked. “Definitely. I love your mom's pancakes.”

Bags were packed and loaded. Snacks and drinks were bought. A Ziploc bag full with coins for tolls and a map were in Eddie's glove box. And hours of music were picked. All that was left was to wake up at the ass crack of dawn.
This senior ditch day was going to be epic. Months and months of saving and scrimping was all going to be worth it. 3 days of total and complete freedom. The road trip of a lifetime. One last hurrah. Together.
Only this was gonna be tough. Being in close quarters with you for 3 whole days. How was he gonna deal?
Lately he was doing pretty good at keeping his feelings at bay… well that wasn't true. You had left for a week after the senior outing to visit the college you got into.
He missed you more than ever. But over those few days, he reflected back on everything. Sure how he now felt about you came unexpectedly. Still, he never wanted to be with anyone more. Especially since he realized you were perfect for each other.
However if he decided to make a move, there was no certainty that you would be up for it. Also, what would it do to the friendship? You guys had been friends way too long. It would be awkward.

It was 4 am on Friday and everyone was ready to hit the road. You had just hopped in the passenger seat with a huge thermos of coffee.
“ Sorry. Thy birth giver wanted to pray for safe travels and a safe return.”
Eddie smiled. “ Welp, hopefully one of the pagan gods heard her.”
You turned around and offered up some coffee and donuts to everyone. When you turned back, you pulled out the map.
“ Okay Eddie. Please for the love of all that is holy. Please don't kill us.”
He chuckled. “ Ye have little faith kid.”
You rolled your eyes and took a bite of a donut and pointed forward. “ Let's do this.”
Everyone whooped and hollard. “New York! Here we come!”

3 hours later
“Oh crap! Munson please!” Jeff whimpered.
Gareth backed away a little. “ Man oh man. I told you not to have that second cup of coffee.”
Eddie shook his head while you were laughing your butt off.
“ Calm down.” He said. “ The next gas station in 3 miles out.”
“ I-I don't think I- I can hold it!” Jeff stammered.
“ YOU BETTER!” Grant yelled.
You turned around. “ Guy, guys guys!” It's gonna be fine. Jeffrey. 2 ½ minutes. You can do this. Just squeeze.”
You looked back at Eddie and just grinned away. All he could think about was how nice your eyes looked.
As soon as he pulled into the parking lot, Jeff kicked open the back door and ran into the store.
Once Eddie turned off the engine everyone sat there quietly for a few seconds before laughing like crazy.
When it died down you guys got off to move your legs around.
Eddie went to fill up while the other guys went to see about some real breakfast.
He had just put in the gas nozzle and turned to find you doing toe touches.
He shouldn't have done it, but he did. He checked you out. Loving how your leggings hugged your round bottom. How beautifully wide your hips were.
When you stood back up you walked towards him.
“ Eddie? Can you pop my back?”

Eddie smiled when he saw the buildings in the distance. He looked at you and your eyes were so big.
“ Guys look! We're almost there.” You said excitedly.
Gareth moved between you and him. “ Awwwww yeah baby. Just think, in a couple of weeks we're moving here.”
Eddie caught a sad look on your face. He knew how bad you wanted to go to Columbia. To be close to them while they followed their dreams to be rockstars. But things didn't work out. Instead, you were going to a college on the west coast.
It was a good school. Everyone knew that. It had a great biology and geology department. Something you were excited about. Still, you were scared because you didn't know anyone there. Everyone you knew and loved would be on the other side of the country.
That's why Eddie understood the sad face. He remembered conversations he had with you about it. He remembered wiping away your tears as you told him about your rejection from Columbia. And though he was the one to talk you into getting some California sun, he now realized he didn't want you to go either.
He tapped your knee and started writing.
‘ okay?’
You peered out the front windshield and slightly shook your head. Then you put your hand on his and squeezed it gently. Letting him know you would be fine.
He knew you would be. You were awesome and you would make friends easily. It's just now he didn't know if he would be okay without you.

You put your finger against your lips.“ Shhhh! Guys I know you're freaking out, but I need you to trust me.”
Everyone was following you down these concrete hallways for a good 5 minutes now. After checking into the hotel and getting food, they had all found themselves sneaking into a building.
Jeff was the first to doubt you. But as soon as a security officer came close to catching you guys, everyone tried to convince you to turn back.
Eddie looked into your eyes and nodded. “ Okay.” He whispered. “ If we go to jail, it better be worth it.”
You held out your hand for him. “ It will be. I promise.”
Your hand was everything he thought it would be. Soft, warm and fit perfectly in his. He swore he would follow you anywhere if it meant that he could hold your hand.
Once you guys were finally in the spot, you told them to stay put. When you let go of his hand, he now felt like a part of him was missing.
You were only gone for a second. But in those few moments they had all realized where they snuck into.
Eddie was speechless. There were absolutely no words that could describe how he felt.
A few spot lights turned on. Pointing directly in the middle of a huge stage.
You returned on top of it. “ So?”
“ Shit!” They all said in unison.
You gave them a huge smile. “ I know right? Obviously you guys can't perform or anything like that. But I wanted the first time you step foot in here, that it's with your biggest support. Cuz I know one day I'm going to be standing right there… screaming my head off.”
They looked at the spot where you pointed. It was right in front of the platform.
You locked eyes with him.“ So get up here and take it in.”
The guys looked at each other then ran to get up too. Once up there you asked for help getting down. You then watched them laugh and wrestle playfully.
“ Alright freaks!” You announced. “ Imagine this. Every seat is full. And the floor is packed with bodies. All waiting for you.”
They all stared at you after moving to their respective place. As if they're standing by their instruments.
“ The crowd is chanting. Corroded Coffin. Corroded Coffin….Then the lights go out. The ones that are sitting jump up and everyone screams in anticipation. But then... it goes silent…”
Eddie pictured everything. It was all him and the guys ever wanted.
“ Then they hear you.” You point at Gareth. “ Then you.” You looked at Jeff. “ Then of course you bud.” You nodded towards Grant. “ And finally the strum of a guitar along with oooooohhhhs and awwwws from you.”
Eddie finally had your eyes on him. And he knew right then and there that he was in love with you. It wasn't just a silly crush anymore. It was the real thing. The can't eat, can't sleep, the winning touchdown, the home run, the one in a lifetime love.
He loved you because you loved them. You believed in them. And the way you laid out the scene with so much conviction, it had him convinced that they were gonna make it too.
You smiled at him and continued. “ And while you blow off the roof of this place, the crowd sings and sways with you."

Later that night everyone settled into the shared room. Gareth and Jeff in one bed, Eddie and Grant on the sofa bed. And of course being the only female of the group they gave you your own bed.
Eddie has just come out of the shower to find everyone asleep. Except you. You weren't even in the room.
He looked at Grant who took up the whole bed and he sighed. Looked like he was gonna sleep on the floor.
He waited a minute to see if you would come back but after about 5 minutes, he went to look for you.
You weren't far though. He found you sitting on the steps reading something.
“ Hey kid. Whatcha doin?”
You gave him a quick little smile before looking back at your book. “ Uhhhh nothing really. Just checking out courses.”
He sat next to you and pulled out his pack of cigarettes. Before he could light one you plucked it from his mouth.
“ No you promised. No smoking on this trip.”
He gave you a thin lip before taking back the smoke and returning it to the carton.
“ You really should quit. I don't want to see you end up with an oxygen tank.”
He put the pack back in his pocket. “ One day. I promise.”
You flipped a page. “ I'll keep you to that.”
You guys sat quiet. Listen to the bustle of the city. Eddie was trying to gather the courage to tell you how he felt. But he was scared. What if he took a leap of faith and it turned ugly? What if you did like him the way he liked you and things didn't work out? Or what if his confession lead to you guys not being friends anymore?
Doubt filled his thoughts. But then a bit of hope shined on him. What if it did work out? What if you guys made it past the long distance thing and were truly happy together? What if this love was meant to be?
“ Eddie?”
His inner rambling came to a halt. “ Y-yeah?”
You closed your book and started fidgeting with the corners. “ You know you're my best friend right?”
He softly cleared his throat. “ Yeah.”
“ And we always tell each other everything.”
He nodded. “ Yeah.”
You sighed a little. “ So you know that I have family out here….well my uncle actually works as a security guard at the garden. He worked tonight…he knew we were coming and he did me a solid…we wouldn't have gotten in trouble if we got caught.”
For a second there his heart sank. He thought you were gonna say that you liked him too. But then he smiled and wrapped his arms around you.
“ I'm really gonna miss you.” He said softly.
You hug his waist. “ I think I'll miss you more.”
The hug lasted a minute or so, but it was the best damn hug he had ever had. And when you tried pulled away he hugged you tighter. Making you giggle.
When he finally loosen his grip, you stared deeply into his eyes. The way you sat there, it was like your eyes were trying to tell him something your mouth couldn't. It was almost as if you were asking him to kiss you.
He was gonna go for it. He was gonna take that leap. However the second he leaned in you yawned. Pulling completely away from him so you wouldn't do it in his face.
“ Wow I'm beat. We should get some sleep. Big day in Time's Square tomorrow."
He frowned at the fleeding moment that seemed to be fate.
“ Yeah you're probably right.” He conceded to it. “ You think you could lend me a pillow and that blanket you brought?”
You looked at him and raised a brow. Silently asking why?
“ Gonna crash on the floor. Grant's a bed hog.”
You laughed lightly and yawned again. “ No. You can sleep with me.”
His breath hitched in his throat while asking a shaky. “ W-what?”
You grinned and stood up, holding out your hand. “ Like when we were kids. If you're worried that I'll get handsy then we can make a pillow barrier.”
He chuckled. “ Maybe I like handsy.”
He regretted it as soon as it came out.
The silence that followed his comment nearly made him shit a brick. You stood there with an almost visible question mark above your head.
Shit! He thought. Shouldn't have said that.
You then shook your head and laughed. “ Stop being weird and take my hand.”
He practically wiped his brow and said whew before grabbing your hand. Allowing you to lead him back.
He laid there for a while thinking about all that happened. He couldn't believe he was gonna kiss you before telling you how he felt. That wasn't the guy he was. He always made sure he got consent. And with you it would be no different. All he had to do was get some real alone time with you so he can finally say something.
When we get home. He said to himself.
He heard you sigh and felt you move a bit. Then he felt your arm sliding across his stomach. Without thinking he lifted his arm and gently pulled you closer. Slipping his arm under your head.
Both of you sank further into the bed. He smiled and his last thought before falling asleep was how much he loved you.

The next day and a half was the best in his life. Exploring the city, eating the best pizza and getting some information about playing at clubs when they moved there. It was fantastic.
Now it was time to head home and finish up the school year.
The drive seemed longer this time. More quiet. And he knew why. In exactly 2 weeks things were going to be different. Everyone was going to graduate and their adult lives were going to start. For a long time he couldn't wait to get the hell out of Hawkins. So did his friends. But now that it was happening, it was so hard to see the next chapter. Well with this little monster of love inside him.
When it was time to switch off. Jeff and Grant traded places with you and him.
You guys crawled in the back with the sleeping Gareth and tried to catch some z's.
You leaned your head on his shoulder and started to hum a familiar tune. He put his hand on your knee and started tapping to the beat. He caught a small smile from you.
“ Hey Jeff? Could you drop me off first when we get into town?” you asked.
“No problem.”
You went back to humming and Eddie was trying to figure out what exactly he was gonna say. Before he knew it he was sound asleep with you.
Until he heard the vans break squeak to a stop.
He opened his eyes and saw they were in front of your house. You had just opened the door and hopped out.
Though he wanted this to be a private moment, it was now or never.
He sat up and followed you. “ I need a minute man.” He said to Jeff. “ Hold up kid. I'll help you.”
You tried to refuse his help in carrying your duffle bag, but he could see you were too tired to try.
You stoped on at your doorstep and reached for your bag. “ Thanks Eddie.”
He handed you the bag and took a deep breath. Just as you turned to open the door he said your name.
“ Yeah?”
His eyes fell to the ground as he rubbed the back of his neck. “ Uhhhh nevermind. I'll tell you later.”
You cleared your throat gently and took a step towards him. “ I hate when you do that.”
His gaze shot up to yours. “ D-do what?”
You put your free hand on your hip. “ When you look like you have something important to say then just brush it off…Just tell me because I'm gonna be up all night wondering what you wanted to say.”
He looked away and stood quiet for a few seconds. “ I-I’ve been acting different lately.”
“ I know.”
He met your eyes again. “ Yeah?”
You didn't say anything, but he knew that you did.
“ So I-” he cut off. Suddenly his nerves were getting the best of him. “ I don't- ummm shit…I- well the reason…damn it! I cant- I don't know-”
You grabbed his hand and lightly squeezed it. Letting him know that it was okay. To calm down and take a breath.
He took a deep inhale and slowly let it out. “ I think possibly, maybe I’ve fallen for you.”
Your expression after that gave him a sinking feeling. You didn't feel the same.
Your frown said it all.
“ I'm sorry. I-I just needed to say something.”
You nodded but surprisingly you didn't let go of his hand. You were actually staring at his hand in yours.
“Eddie…I want to talk more about this. But I can't even think straight and my knees are about to give in.”
That wasn't what he was hoping for.
“Right! Umm yeah. Sorry, just forget I said anything.” He said trying to walk away.
But you held his hand firmly. Preventing him from taking a step further. “ No. Don't do that.”
He looked back at you and you had your eyes closed.
“ Eddie, this is important. If it wasn't then you wouldn't have said anything at all…This deserves a real conversation that I can't give you right now. So please don't leave thinking that I don't feel the same way."
He was in disbelief. Did he hear that right?
You gave his hand one last squeeze before letting go and going inside.
He stood there staring at the door. Did he dream that? You like him too?
Gareth rolled down the window. “ Munson, let's go. I wanna go home!”

Eddie looked around the cafeteria table at his friends. “ Uhhhh you're joking…you gotta be joking…pfff that's hilarious.”
Everyone sat there in silence.
“ Guys? Seriously?! No way! No fuckin way!” He said, putting his hands up. “ Nope!”
He locked eyes with you and raised his brows. “ Common, you agree with me right?”
You averted your gaze to your lunch and shrugged.
He looked at the imbecile that brought up the subject in the first place. “ You turned her against me!”
Gareth scoffed. “ Dude no. All I'm trying to say is that prom is like a highschool right of passage. I don't know about you, but I don't want to miss out.”
Eddie tuts and narrowed his eyes at him. “ Miss out on what exactly? Penguin suits?”
You answered his question. “ You guys don't have to wear tuxedos. You can wear all black. Like always.”
He shot you a look and you smiled at him.
He rolled his eyes. “ Okay how about shitty music?”
You answered again. “ They're bound to play something good.”
He gave snake eyes now to you and you stuck your tongue at him.
“ Okay how about all of us are broke and we can't afford a limo?”
You opened your mouth to respond but he pressed his lips and widened his eyes at you.
Grant cleared his throat. “ Ehem. Well, you do have a van.”
Eddie licked his lips and looked at his lunch box. “ You guys are nuts. I'm admitting you all to Arkham…I-I can't believe you're trying to convince me to go to prom…Where the hell am I gonna find a date?”
“ Eddie, we're going together as a group. No dates.”
He looked up at you and you gave him a pout. God he hated when you did that. He could never say no when you put your lip out like that.
“Do you even own any dresses?” He asked sarcastically.
When you beamed at him, he gave you a defeated look. You'd convinced him.
You smirked.“ Oh you'd be surprised what I have in my closet.”
Eddie sat there and kept shaking his head while his friend talked about the plan for prom.
…
He couldn't believe it. Eddie absolutely could not believe he was doing this. He was driving to a damn dance. It was the last thing in the world he thought he would be doing. Yet here he was. Pulling up to the last stop before prom.
He lowered the music and parked in front of your house. He honked the horn and waited.
A minute passes and he sees your mom open the door. She then motioned for them to come in.
Eddie sighed when he saw her waving a camera. This was not a night he wanted to remember. Or there to be any evidence of it ever happening.
Everyone hopped out and walked to the house.
“ Oh my! You guys look sharp.” Victoria said, giving them each a hug.
Eddie grinned and gave her a warm embrace. “ Look who's talking. You look ravishing.”
Victoria playful slapped his chest. “ Oh you.”
“ Seriously Eddie? Dude, stop hitting on my mom.”
He turned his head to give you a smirk but instead his jaw nearly hit the floor.
There was only one word to describe how you looked coming into the foyer in your off the shoulders black satin dress.
Beautiful.
That word along with your name in the same sentence was not normal. Well other than him saying (That nat 20 was beautiful y/n.)
But now you are beautiful. Not that he thought you were ugly or something. It's just he never thought about that at all.
You were just one of the guys. A kid that liked to ride bikes and wrestle with boys. A kid that didn't care if you got dirty or cried when you scraped your knee.
You were one of his best friends and up until now, he never saw you as anything more.
“ Stop gawking dude.”
Your comment woke him up from his initial shock.
“ Ermmm. Y-you clean up alright kid.”
You rolled your eyes at him. “ Gee thanks. I appreciate that. You don't look awful yourself. I see you pulled out your funeral attire.”
He looked down at his black short sleeve button up and his uncle's black slacks. Along with his white Reeboks.
“ Well you did say-” he looked up and you turned around and went to say hi to everyone else.
You always did that. Whenever he was gearing up to argue, you would walk away. It always irritated the living fuck out of him. However, right now all he could do was smile to himself.
Before the group pictures you had gotten each of them a white rose to pin on their shirt. Eddie watched you smile happily as you and your mom put them on.
When it was his turn, his heart started to race. You were so close to him, he could smell your perfume. It was sweet and floral. Playful yet sexy. Something he could smell forever. He could just bury his nose in your neck and die happily.
He shook off the intruding thoughts and focused on your hands.
“ OUCH!” He hissed.
You pulled your hands away and looked up at him worriedly. He grinned and thought your forehead looked so cute when you pinched your brows together like that.
He grinned. “ Just kidding.”
You narrowed your eyes at him and mumbled under your breath. “ You dick.”
He chuckled and apologized.
…
You guys were sitting at a table near the exit in the gym. Talking amongst yourself. Eddie would have complained how they have been there for half an hour and the DJ has yet to play a passable song. Instead, he sat there wondering if he should ask you to dance. Would it be weird? No one else asked you yet. And he didn't think Gareth or Jeff would. Grant maybe. Because he liked all kinds of music and loved to dance. And he had a secret crush on you.
But Eddie had to beat him to the punch. He needed to know what it felt like to hold you close.
Just as his mind went haywire, he felt you tap his thigh and began spelling something out.
‘U- ok?’
He glanced at you and nodded. He always did like how you guys secretly communicated. He put his arm on the back of your chair and started writing on your back with his thumb.
‘Yeah- u?’
He kept his thumb pressed against your skin. Loving the warmth radiating from it and how smooth it was.
You wrote back. ‘Hungry.’
He looked down at your salad plate and it was empty. While cursing at himself for declining his salad that he should have given you, he searched around for more food.
He leaned in towards you when he found some. “I'll be right back.”
He got up and went for a plate when someone sat down in front of the one he was eyeing. He sighed and went on the hunt for another. It took a few minutes but eventually he was able to sneak one. When he came back he saw that you and everyone else at the table had a dinner plate already.
You grinned at him. “ I spoke too soon. But I'll totally eat that one too.”
He shook his head. “ I think all of us are gonna need 3 servings of this. With how much the tickets cost, they could at least give us more than an ice cream scoop of potatoes and a chicken wing.”
You agreed with him and offered to take them out for burgers after.
You guys were in the middle of eating when yours and his song came on. You immediately put down your fork and wiped the corners of your mouth.
“ Mhmmm. Okay! Let's go.” You said standing up. “ Let's do this.”
Everyone looked at each other and got up too. Except him.
“ Muuunnnnsooonn.” You sang out, walking backwards towards the dance floor. “ Common. This is our song dude. We have to.”
He chuckled while you pretended to cast out a line and start to reel him in.
He had no choice. He had to join and belt out the song with you.
What's goin on!”
While grabbing his hand, you started swaying with him and the others.

“ And so I wake in the morning and I step outside. And I take a deep breath and I get real high and I scream at the top of my lungs.

Eddie re-lived all the memories you and him had.
All the times he was bummed or sick. You would show up with food and sing that song. When you had a bad day at school or got anything less than a ‘A’ on an assignment, he would wrap his arms around you and rock you back and forth. Singing at the top of his lungs. Making you laugh like crazy.
He liked hearing you laugh. Especially when you laughed so hard that you would let out a small snort. He also liked how your fingers felt, scratching his head when he had a headache. The way you hummed What's Up? always made him feel better.
Even now, seeing you rock back and forth, singing your heart out. It made an alright night to one he'll never forget.

A couple weeks went by and Eddie couldn't get you out of his head. After prom, everything went back to normal. Except his feelings. You weren't that kid anymore. You weren't just one of his best friends.
In addition to being that, you were a girl who he wanted to hold. Maybe kiss and have sleepovers. Well, a different kind of sleepover than he was used to.
He tried so hard to avoid you as much as possible during those weeks. But he eventually missed you, so he gave into whatever was taken over his heart.
All the times he hugged you hello and goodbye would last a little longer. He became more affectionate than he'd ever been. Random tickling you when it wasn't weird. Just so he could touch you. Or he constantly had his arm around your shoulders whenever you were together.
He thought no one would notice since it was so close to graduation. But he was wrong. Apparently he was doing it so much that Gareth had to pull him aside and talk to him.
“ What the hell's going on man?”
Eddie's eyes went wide. The jig was up. “ Ermmm hmmm? What's up?”
Gareth crossed his arms and stood quiet. That's all he needed to do to get Eddie to talk. That and a stare down.
He sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. “ I…I don't know what happened…one minute she's who she's always been and the next, she's not.”
Gareth tilted his head to the side and remained silent.
Eddie clicked his tongue and shook his head. “ Look man, I don't know what I'm doing. All I know is that I feel different.”
Gareth straightened his head and raised his brows.
Eddie let out a long sigh. “ Fine! I like her. I like her, like her.”
Gareth smirked and put a hand on his shoulder. “ Welcome to the club.”
Eddie jerked his head back. “ What the hell does that mean?”
Gareth laughed. “ Dude! We all had a crush on her at some point. Remember when Jeff needed help with the spelling bee in the 6th grade?”
Eddie nodded.
“ Well she helped him for a whole 2 weeks. Jeff swore he loved her after that. And Grant…well you know he always liked her. But it really hit him when she decked Jenny for calling him fatso.”
Eddie was quiet for a second. “ W-what about you?”
Gareth put his hands in his pocket and gave him a thin lip smile. “Uhhhh…so I broke my arm once. Before you moved here…She helped me out a lot during that summer. She did my chores and helped cut up my food sometimes… You know, she was the only one who signed my cast.” He smiled. “ She's a great friend. She always has been. Honestly, I'm surprised it did happen to you sooner.”
Eddie licked his lips and put his hands in his back pockets. They had all liked you because you helped them out or defended their honor. But you hadn't done anything different with him. Besides you looking incredible at the dance, there was nothing that he could think of that made him like you like that.
“ S-so all of you guys still like her like that?”
Gareth shook his head. “ Nah man. I knew that it was just a crush. And Jeff, well Jeff's dating Connie. Grant…Grant still likes her. He even tried to kiss her.”
Eddie flexed his jaw. “ What?! When?!”
“ Prom.”
“ PROM?!”
“ DUDE!” Gareth hushed him up. “ Calm down. You left to get food and he tried. But she let him down gently. She said that she sees him as a brother. In fact, she sees all of us as family. And it would be weird if she dated any of us.”
Eddie's heart sank. Did you really think that about all of them or just the 3 stooges?
“ Look Munson, don't worry about it. It will go away.”
“ What-what if it doesn't?”
Gareth shrugged. “ Then talk to her. Maybe she can say something that will make you feel better about it.”
All of sudden Eddie felt hands on his hips.
“ Hey ladies! What are we gossiping about?”
He turned slightly to find you staring up at him. His heart fluttered seeing your amazing smile.
Gareth spoke up when Eddie couldn't answer.“ uhhhh nothing. Just talking about Mrs O'Donnells final.”
You huffed and grabbed his hand. Pulling it over your shoulders. Lacing your fingers with his.
What did that mean? It was weird right? You and him were close. But now that he had feelings for you, everything you did seemed intimate.
“ Don't you guys worry, okay. I've helped both of you and you'll do fine. Then all of us are gonna walk the line and finally get the hell out of here.”
You looked up at him and beamed. Making him grin right back.
There was a moment there where he thought that you felt the same for him. But that was squashed when you let go of his hand and hook your arm around Gareth’s.
“ Now common. They're serving pizza and you know how I love pizza Fridays.”
He and Gareth chuckled and responded at the same time. “ More than us.”
You started for the cafeteria. “ You betcha!”

A week later and Eddie still couldn't shake you. He just couldn't get past the thought of being with you. Or even if what he felt was just a hard core infatuation. But nothing could prepare him for the events of senior outing.
It wasn't camping or a field trip to Washington. It was a movie in the park.
Sure, you guys could have rented a decent horror flick and binge out on snacks in your basement. But you argued that it was one of the last chances to hang out. So of course everyone went.
Eddie was walking back with Jeff. Hauling bags of popcorn and drinks for everyone. As soon as he was close enough he caught your eye. You bit your lip and waved him over.
He immediately felt butterflies in his stomach.
When he sat down you scooted closer to him and covered his legs with a blanket you brought.
You then grabbed your purse and pulled out his favorite candy.
He smiled and patted himself down. Pulling out a box of milk duds from his jacket pocket.
“ Awwww you remembered. Thanks.”
His eyes went wide when you gave him a peck on the cheek.
He had only a second of shock before he tried to brush it off. “ Of-of course. I could never forget.”
You happily rocked side to side as you combined the candy and popcorn. Then you held out a bite for him.
His heart started to race the closer your hand got to his mouth.
He closed his eyes and let you feed him.
Under any other circumstances, this was totally normal. You were very affectionate. It actually annoyed him most of the time. However this time, it only served to make him think you actually did like him too.
As the movie he couldn't pay attention to kept playing, he tried not to think about his “crush”. But it was a battle he was losing. Every time you would laugh, it would warm his heart. Every time you guys reached for popcorn at the same time, your fingers would touch. All he wanted to do was hold your hand or pull you closer by your waist.
Then like a sign from above, the wind picked up. You moved closer to keep warm. Out of nowhere you rested your head on his shoulder and put your hand on his upper thigh. That's when his breath caught in his throat. He tried to clear it and ended up coughing.
Without hesitation your reached over and lifted up your lemonade for him to take a sip.
He licked his lips and took a drink. After you put the cup down, you started tracing across his thigh.
‘Better?’
He gulped and nodded. “I uhh I'm gonna get us refills.”
He felt your eyes on him as he got up and grabbed your cup and his.
While he walked to the snack bar he tried to talk down a chubby. This wasn't okay. The way you made him feel was agonizing. But in such a good fucking way.
When he hit the stand there was a huge line.
Shit! He thought.
By the time he got back to the spot, you had moved to sit between Gareth and Grant. That's when he noticed you wearing Grant's leather coat. He instantly got jealous.
You looked up and gave him a small smile. “ Sorry Eddie. I got really cold while you were gone.”
He shook his head. “ It's cool. The line was long.”
Once he handed you your drink he plopped down and sulked.
Obviously his feelings weren't going anywhere anytime soon.

But, it never was. Eddie never sat in your section. 4 long years waiting tables at Benny's and not once had he looked into your eyes.
Oh how you long for a glance. For one little smile. Just something, anything that would give you an indication that he, Eddie Munson knew you were on this plain of existence.
How could you possibly be this enamored with someone you never met? How is it that in the 4 years since you moved to this small town, that you had never said so much as a hello to him.
Sure you saw him all the time. Around the town, running errands, at the grocery store, at the movies, even at the salon. Still, you were invisible to the one you wanted the most to be visible to.
It was ridiculous, you knew that. Pinning after a guy that was clearly way way out of your league. But you couldn't help it.
You wanted to know what it was like to be on the receiving end of his smiles. To finally know what it felt like for him to rest his eyes on you.
Would you look away? Would you blush? Or would you find some sliver of courage to finally say 'hello can I take your order?'
Well you would get your chance.

You picked up an evening shift on a Friday night. It was prom season so Benny needed an extra pair of hands. Since his restaurant was one of the very few decent places to eat in Hawkins, he was anticipating being busy. Just not as busy as it actually was.
Originally, you were planning on going out on a blind date that night. But when you heard the desperation in Benny's voice you had to cancel.
Maybe it was for the better. You didn't want to go on a date with some random guy. But your grandpa insisted you go out with a young fella he met at the bank earlier that week.
All you knew of the guy was that he helped your grandpa pick up his checkbook after he dropped it. And that his voice sounded nice over the phone and he was the same age as you. But thank goodness for Benny.
When you walked into the restaurant, it was so loud that you couldn't even hear the jukebox. You immediately went to the back room and dawned on an apron. You didn't even put on your name tag before you went back up front.
The second you walked out the swinging doors you saw Eddie walking in. Your eyes followed him to an open seat at the counter. Once you noticed that he was in fact in your section, you turned around and went through the door again. You stood there shaking your head.
" What is it?"
You looked to the side and Benny was giving you a concerned look. But then that faded when he looked out of the window area. He chuckled a little and went back to work.
" Kiddo, I need you out there to get his order."
You sighed. " Can't you just put it in? He always orders the same thing."
"Tonight might be the night something changes."
Not likely. You thought. Creature of habit that one.
You took a deep breath and went out.
You cleared your throat lightly. " H-hi."
Eddie smiled at his menu. " Hey. Um can I get the uhh…the chicken fried steak."
You smiled to yourself. " With fries instead of mashed potatoes and buttered corn? Mountain dew, no ice?"
He looked up from his menu and tilted his head to the side. " umm yeah. How did you-"
"ORDER UP!" Benny shouted.
Before you could look up from your order pad you jumped and turned around. Where you were met with Benny grinning at you.
When you looked back Eddie was smiling. His eyes were down as he took off his jacket.
Damn it!
" I'll be back with your drink."
You huffed a little as you took the order to the customer. After, you grabbed Eddie's drink. When you went back to give it to him he was heading towards the bathroom.
Aww.
A few minutes later his food was ready and you tried to give it to him but, someone had already placed it on the counter and took off to help other customers. That's when you saw Eddie lift his finger to ask something, but he got ignored.
You looked at the table full of kids in their pretty dresses and cute tuxedos.
" Your order will be up shortly."
When you turned, you heard someone say that they hoped none of their food went missing before it got to the table.
You paused for a second feeling the hurt, then shook it off and went to help Eddie.
You place a bottle of steak sauce and a small bowl of bbq sauce in front of him.
You were so embarrassed from what just occurred that you couldn't take your eyes off the ground.
That's when Eddie grabbed your hand. Your eyes shot up to his rings that littered his fingers.
" Hey. They're stupid kids. Don't listen to them."
You furrowed your brow a little and nodded.
" Umm do you need anything else?"
He let go of your wrist. " No. Not right now. Thanks for bringing me sauce."
You pressed your lips together and turned to fill more drink orders. Now all you could think about was how warm and rough his hand was. It was rougher than you expected it to be. But the way he held your hand so gently, you could have died.
Damn it. I should've looked at him.
A little bit later you went back to check on him. As soon as you saw he bottomed out his pop, you brought him another.
" Thanks doll."
You blushed. You knew you did. You could feel your cheeks get hot.
" You're welcome Eddie."
When your eyes met finally, your heart nearly stopped. He was smiling… at you!
" Are you new here?" He asked.
You couldn't talk. You could barely breathe. All you could do was shake your head.
He tilted his head a little. " Huh? How long have you worked here?"
You had to look away. You needed to so you could answer him.
" 4-4 years."
He leaned back slightly." Seriously? How come I have never seen you before?"
You shrugged. " Umm you normally sit over there."
Eddie's eyes followed your finger to his normal spot.
" Oh. Huh…guess I'm not too observant am I?"
" Well we're all creatures of habit. Sorry that you had to sit on my side tonight."
He smiled again when you looked at him. You actually seemed genuinely apologetic for it. " I like this side. I never had such good service before. You knew my order."
You smiled a little. " Well you kinda order the same thing for dinner when you come in."
He smirked. " But, how did you know that if you never served me before?"
You bit your lip and looked away again. " I'm…a really good waitress."
His chuckle made your heart flutter.
" Hmmm is that so? Okay." He said, clapping his hands together and rubbing them. " I challenge you. What dessert do I get?"
Your smile got a little bigger. " Well that depends."
He raised a brow. " On?"
You took a step closer to the counter when it got loud again. Afraid that he might not hear you over it.
" Umm did you have a good day at work today?"
He jerked his head back a little and pinched his brows together. " I did."
That's when you gave him a breathtaking smile. He was actually taken back by it. Not in a weird way, just that how could he have missed a smile like that all this time.
" Cherry pie with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream."
He scoffed in disbelief. " Okay…what would I get if I had a bad day?"
All of a sudden you thought that this conversation made you look like a creep. So much so that you didn't want to answer.
" Ummm. Haha." You shrugged." I-I guess I'm not as good as I thought I was."
He leaned forward on his elbows. " Care to take a guess at it doll?"
You took a small step closer to the counter. About half an arms length away from him now. Even though you didn't want to tell him that you actually did know what he ordered. The way his big brown eyes looked at you made it so that you never wanted to lie to him." Well umm let's see…Maybe...Triple chocolate cake…with chocolate ice cream and milk."
Eddie leaned in closer and nodded. " You are a really really good waitress."
He saw you blush as you looked away.
You blushed again." I-I'll get you that pie."
When you walked away he watched you. He thought you were cute. The way your chubby cheeks got all pink and how you kept looking away from him. You were clearly shy as hell. But it was adorable.
It made him actually quite happy his blind date cancelled on him.
In normal circumstances, he would never accept being set up with someone. Well, that's because no one would actually want to go out on a date with him. And he had never been offered that before.
He had been out of highschool for almost 2 years and he still was someone who was to be avoided. Not that it really bothered him. But he was rather lonely.
So imagine his surprise when he was offered the chance to go out with an old man's granddaughter. He at first declined, but Don insisted that he had to meet his beautiful granddaughter.
That's what he was supposed to do tonight. But turned out it wasn't meant to be.
Still, this night turned out better than he expected. Even with the horny teenagers filling all the seats in his favorite place. And the shitty music someone decided to play. He was intrigued by you. The girl who has been working here for ages. The one with no name apparently.
He liked you. He liked the way you didn't wear a lot of makeup like the rest of the waitresses here. He liked how normal you looked.
Sure you were a curvy girl. But he never really had a type. He thought everyone was beautiful in their own way. Guys and girls.
What he really wanted was to be with someone who was nice. Someone who was funny as well as smart. Mostly, just someone. That's why he agreed to a blind date after all.
But as the night went on, he forgot all about her and focused on you.
Once the kids had gone to their dance, there were only regulars there. Eddie decided to stick around for a bit. Possibly get your number.
When you went back with his change, you were feeling down. He was gonna leave. The whole 3 hours he was there made the night bearable.
He joked around a bit and kept giving you compliments. For a moment there you thought maybe he was flirting. But then again, he talked that way with his other waitresses.
You gave him a soft smile."Have a great rest of your night."
He nodded and grinned. "Uhh you too."
You handed him his change and lingered there for a second.
Stop being weird and go. You told yourself.
So you did. You turned and started walking off.
" Hey doll?"
You froze. Doll? Love that for me.
" What's your name?"
You bit your lip out of sheer excitement. He wanted to know your name. You turned a little and opened your mouth to say it. But then a car backfiring blocked out the sound.
Eddie looked out the window and saw the old truck peeling out of the parking lot.
" Uhh sorry I didn't catch-" he cut off when he saw you walking into the back.
" Damn." He whispered to himself.
Now he had to come back and get your name. Then maybe your number.

When you went home all you could think about was how satisfying it was to finally get that smile from him. How incredible it was to look into his eyes and see the twinkle you knew was there.
Though you realize you had a small crush on the guy, you knew that nothing was going to happen. If there was, then you would leave it up to the universe.
However, you still felt bad for canceling on your date. So before heading home you made a quick phone call from the restaurant.

Eddie had just walked in through the door when the phone rang. He hung his jacket on the coat rack while Wayne answered the call.
" It's for you son."
Eddie nodded and went to the phone.
" Hello?"
" H-hey. It's umm y/n."
He rubbed the back of his neck. " Oh. Hey."
" Hi… Ummm so I called because I wanted to apologize again for canceling."
" Uhh n-no. You're good. I get it. Work sucks sometimes."
He heard a sweet little laugh that sounded familiar.
" It does. But I am really sorry…I was wondering if possibly…I could make it up to you. Maybe buy you a drink sometime?"
Eddie grinned. This was a first. He thought he would never hear from his blind date again. " Uhh s-sure. How about tomorrow night?"
" Okay. Umm, is there a place you have in mind?"
He nodded. " Yeah. Do you know a place called The Hideout?"
" By the river?"
He smiled. " That's the one. Say 7?"
"Y-yeah. That would be great! I'll uhh be the girl in pink."
The excitement in your voice made him chuckle." I'll see you tomorrow."
" See ya. Goodnight."
When he hung up all he could think about was how sweet you were.

The amount of courage it took to call him all came from talking to Eddie. Sure you didn't really want to go out on a date. But after what happened tonight, you thought what harm would one drink do? The guy seemed nice. So you were excited. And so was Eddie.

It was cold in the bar. So cold that you put on your sweater and buttoned it all the way up.
It was the fall, so you were expecting the cold. Just not this bad yet.
You arrived a little early to try and find a place to sit. But to your surprise the place was practically empty.
You ordered a drink and sat patiently waiting for your date.

Eddie had come early too. He was sitting in his van rocking out for a minute. For some reason he thought the date was gonna go well.
He walked in and looked around. He didn't see anyone in pink so he sat at the bar and ordered a drink.
It was 15 minutes until 7 and he thought he should take a leak before you came. So he went real quick. When he came back, he still hadn't seen a girl in pink. But he did see you.
He was shocked for a second but then he smiled and went to sit down.
It looked like you were waiting for someone too. You kept glancing at the door, while sipping on your drink.
For a second there he got kinda jealous that someone got to go out on a date with you. But from the looks of it, you were stood up. Him too in fact.
It was 7:20 and his nor your date showed up. He kinda expected this, but he felt bad because who would bail on a pretty girl like you? That's when he decided to buy you a drink.
When you got it the bartender pointed at him. The look in your eyes made him smile.
He waved and raised his drink. You of course blushed and looked down. But you smiled. And that's all he needed to get up and join you.
" Hello again."
He grinned." Hey doll. What's a girl like you doing in a dump like this?"
You looked away again and sighed. " I was supposed to meet someone here. But it looks like he didn't show."
He sat down and shook his head. " What a dick."
You laughed a little and took a small sip of your drink. " Last time I let my grandpa set me up."
Eddie furrowed his brow and jerked his head back. What were the odds that you were his date?
" Erm, I'm sorry. But is your grandpa named Don?"
You raised your brows and met his gaze. " How?"
He looked away and chuckled.
" Edward?"
He licked his lips and looked back at you. " Guilty."
You nervously laughed and looked down again. " Wowsers. I-I wasn't… ummm."
His smile faded. Now worried that you didn't want to be here. "Hey umm if you want to leave that's cool. I know I have a reputation and all."
Your brows pinched together as you looked up again. " So what if you do?"
Surprised by your response he tilted his head. " Well, mostly people turn the other way when they see me coming."
" I'm not most people."
He grinned a little and took a swig of his beer.
" But I'm curious. You sound so different on the phone. What did you think would happen if you told your dates your name was Edward and they met you? If you wanted to hide your identity, that wasn't a well thought out plan."
He chuckled. " You got me there. I'm not really a guy with a plan."
You nodded. " Clearly."
You both laughed and cheers each other.
A little while later you guys decided to get a late dinner.
That dinner turned into many more after that. Eddie liked you. Liked you a lot. So much that he was ready to take the next step with you. However, he had to be honest. He never had sex before. Well he had, but only with himself.
You guys have been seeing each other for 2 months now. Going on 3 and he was sure he was ready. He had planned a night with dinner and candles. With baby making music and everything. But you ended up working. So that plan was ruined. And so we're all future plans.
One night he thought maybe.
You were cuddling up next to him. Which was a mistake. He should have known better. Every time you cuddled with him like this. Your face snuggled in the crook of his neck and your hand under his shirt. With your hoodie on and legs laced with his. You would fall asleep.
And that's exactly what happened. 15 minutes into the movie you were softly snoring away. He looked at you and sighed.
" Babe?" He whispered. " Babe?"
You softly moaned and opened your eyes a little. You then smiled at him and kissed his cheek. Snuggling back in his neck after.
You were absolutely adorable. Just so damn precious to him. He couldn't force the next step with you. And that moment of cuteness he decided to just let things be.

It's been 5 months since you and Eddie got together. And tonight was the night.
You guys didn't have plans that Saturday evening so you thought you would make some. You went to the phone and called your boyfriend.
" Hey babes."
" Why hello doll."
You smiled and swooned. Absolutely loving that he called you that. " Hi. So umm I know we hadn't planned on doing anything tonight. But I was wondering if you would like to come over. Maybe…stay the night?"
He raised his brows. " Uhh y-yeah s-sure."
You pressed your lips together. You were actually nervous too. " I know that we haven't spent the night together yet. But I think it's time…I-I mean if you're ready that is."
" Y-yeah. No. Yeah. Umm I'm ready." He stammered.
You giggled. " Okay…so umm bring me flowers?"
He chuckled lightly. "I always get you flowers. How about I get you chocolates?"
" Hmmm you can get some of those too. But make sure to get protection."
He got nervous again. " O-okay. Umm I'll be over soon."
" Great."
When he hung up he just stood there for a second. "Shit! It's finally gonna happen."

When Eddie showed up he had a bouquet of marigolds and a heart shaped box of chocolates. The way he smiled and held both out nervously was so adorable. You could squeal and jump up and down from the sheer cuteness.
While smiling and taking your gifts, you motioned him to come in.
Eddie was beyond nervous. For a moment there he thought he might chicken out. But then he thought if he was going to do it with anyone, why not the beautiful shy girl that he was dating. He had waited a long time for this. And he was excited that it was going to happen. He just hoped he wouldn't disappoint you.
You guys kissed for a little while before his hands started to explore your body.
The way he lightly caressed your thighs made you tremble.
"E-Eddie?"
He lifted his head to look at you. You were gorgeous. Eyes all big and lips all pink.
" Ready?"
You licked your lips and softly nodded.
This was it. You guys were finally gonna see each other naked. When you thought about this, you pictured Eddie running away. Or not being able to get a hard on. But when he took off his clothes your core ached. His penis wasn't crazy thick or super long. But it was beautiful. So much so that you sat there for a minute, just staring at him entirely.
" Doll?"
" Hmm?" You squeaked, while looking into worried brown hues. " O-oh I'm sorry…it's just…I-I" you looked away and blushed. " Never seen one with skin."
As soon as you said that you felt like a whore. But then Eddie spoke, giving you some assurance that he didn't think that.
" Is it bad? I-I keep it clean... Do you still want to?"
You looked back up at him and shook your head. " No. It's not bad. I think it's cute. Like a little turtle neck. And thanks for being hygienic."
Your little smile and comment had him chuckling lightly. He sat down and looked you over.
You looked at yourself. It was time.
You first took off your socks. Then your bottoms along with your panties.
When it was time for your shirt you lifted it over your head. Causing your hair to whip to the side.
He reached up and brushed it behind your shoulder. When you looked up at him he leaned in to kiss you.

You laid there trying to catch your breath. With Eddie doing the same.

" Uh-huh."
He looked at you and studied your face. He wasn't sure if you came. He sure did.
It went faster than he expected. But it was better than he could have imagined.
"Do…do you want something to eat and drink?" You asked
" Actually, I was so nervous I didn't eat dinner."
You giggled. "Me too. Why don't you clean up and I'll make us some grilled cheese."
He nodded and got up with you. While you put on your pajamas shirt and bottoms he grabbed his boxers.
You started for the kitchen when he reached for your elbow. He pulled you into a tender kiss. After he smiled at you.
You smiled against his lips. "Hurry up ok? Star Wars is supposed to come on at 8:15."
He gave you one more kiss before going to shower.
You were waiting for him in the living room when he was done. He grinned happily when you pulled back the throw that was on your lap and motioned him to come sit with you. He threw himself next to you and gave you a peck on the cheek before grabbing his plate.
" Umm babes?"
He looked at you and you looked nervous. He shoved the bite he just took into one cheek. " Yeah doll?"
You lightly cleared your throat. " umm do you think after we eat…we…could do that again."
His eyes slightly got bigger. Even though you guys literally had sex like 10 minutes ago, you wanted to do it again.
He quickly chewed his food and harshly swallowed it. " I'm done."
You laughed and put your plate down. As soon as you did, he grabbed your hand and led you back to bed.
After, he laid there listening to your soft snores. Holding you close to him while breathing in your shampoo. He loved how you always smell so good. How you were always so damn warm. So soft. He squeezed you a little bit tighter. Not wanting to ever let you go.
“ I think I love you doll.” He whispers.
You stirred a little and he smiled.
“ You love me too don't you?”
You stirred again. Only this time you turned around and cuddled into his neck. Sighing sleepily.
He smiled to himself and fell into a deep slumber.
(Hi ok so here is my idea for part 7) So when the reader finds out about her and Eddie's baby the reader breaks down when the reader is released from the hospital she goes straight to her bedroom when she gets home her brother and Eddie are getting her stuff out of the car and Eddie told Paul he was gonna go get some food for everyone Paul stayed behind to look after his sister when Eddie gets back he puts the reader's food on a plate ready to give it to her but Paul stopped Eddie and took the plate he told Eddie he thinks it's best that Eddie should leave so the reader can just be around family because Paul tells Eddie to go be with his sons because Chrissy was taking care of him while Eddie went to the hospital for the reader so maybe when Paul took the reader to the hospital the doctor said that the reader was depressed Paul didn't know what to do neither did Eddie soon the reader got better once Paul started to bring Natalie around because Natalie missed her aunt Natalie got the reader out of bed because she wanted the reader to bake cookies the reader started to smile again when she spent time with Natalie onice the reader was back to her old self the reader was gonna call Eddie so she could talk to him about the baby she lost once Eddie got there the reader told Eddie she was sorry that she lost their baby and that she thinks it's better that Eddie gets back together with Chrissy because Chrissy gave birth to Eddie's son and he can be a family with her. So Chrissy and Jason weren't doing so great they broke up because Jason couldn't handle the fact that Chrissy had Eddies baby so he ended the thing between him and Chrissy so Chrissy went back home to Eddie and wanted to see her baby but Eddie told Chrissy no because she abandoned her son Chrissy told Eddie he couldn't stop her from seeing her son Eddie agreed that she could see him but only if she is supervised by one of his band mates Chrissy agreed (so this is my idea its just a suggestion for part 7 you don't have to write it its just to give you more inspiration for part 7)
